I would add to your list:
- pre-produced dramas are becoming a real trend in Korea; there were so many released last year and there are still more filming as we speak... 2016 opened with Cheese in the Trap and ended with Hwarang...
- China banning Korean TV Content, Talent - I think this will have a huge impact in the near future and it is happening already (Hwarang was dropped at episode 3)
- and since we are on China topic they also banned the BL series you mentioned... talk about killing a budding trend...
You mentioned manga and webtoon adaptation, but let's take a moment to remember 2016 also brought an interesting trend of producing adaptations of American shows: Entourage, Good Wife, Cold Case... and I hear KBS plans on remaking the popular American crime drama “Criminal Minds.”

There were so many scandals involving actors: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqraAiWXtE0
http://mydramalist.com/people/690-uhm-tae-woong
http://mydramalist.com/people/233-kim-hyun-joong saga continued
but also a happy couple that started in dramaland and ended up in real life: Ahn Jae Hyun & Gu Hye Seon from http://mydramalist.com/11350-blood-2015
https://www.soompi.com/2016/12/30/watch-take-glimpse-ahn-jae-hyun-ku-hye-suns-newlywed-life/
This is so drama material LOL, it took them less than a year to date and tie the knot. As opposed to another couple (Jung Woo & Kim Yoo Mi) that finally married after 4 years of dating since their movie http://mydramalist.com/7736-red-family
And I have a feeling another couple will follow: Lee Sang Woo & Kim So Yeon from http://mydramalist.com/16146-happy-home
Also several other acting couples made the news: Lee Sang Yoon & Uee, Joo Sang Wook & Cha Ye Ryeon, Shin Ha Kyun & Kim Go Eun, Luo Jin & Tang Tiffany, Hyun Bin & Kang So Ra, Kim Ju Hyuk & Lee Yoo Young
I even have a list for this haha: http://mydramalist.com/list/pLZDayw4
