I was thinking, this drama lately got more interesting bc characters are more complex and contradictory (and we left the crazy town marriage plot at least for now; and HJ got a proper haircut and clothes). YuNa is shown as beautiful but she is a monster... YuNa is shown as a total selfish liar psycho but she also could not bear to kill Chloe .. YuNa's parents are swindlers but they love each other and they love YuNa... MJ is a naive stupid mama boy but is now starting to act in more mature ways... Aunt/Mom is soooo polite and polished but she is such a human chess player brutal strategies - and MASTERFUL LIAR "in public" - wow her switch is so strong, never to get mixed up between "public" and her inner circle!!! and blurt something out...
Chloe looks so cute, dimples, baby face, feminine, but... when she started gnarling, she was totally like a warewolf... blood thirsty scary.

These complexities in the characters and opposing forces driving their actions and reactions is what makes the drama "tight and tense" and creates various plots, imo. Crazy town plots like pushing contract marriages etc are not what makes a drama interesting :)

A drama / movie is not supposed to be like a drug or a bottle of alcohol that just turns off the brain... lmao But most rom com watchers treat rom coms like that.... A good piece of art ENGAGES you, makes you feel and think and reflect and ask questions.... and undoubtedly, it is never going to be 100% perfectly happy and comfortable.
Imo the best drama rooms are those where the audience objectively and subjectively writes their honest opinions, thoughts and feelings, and then reflects deeper. Imo some of the best drama comment pages is Our Universe - before and after the flop lmao ppl are SO OBSERVANT and thinking deeply

and that means ... the situation is stale... i..e. the audience is too similar and/or colluding and/or fans and the more objective views are gone and/or the drama is so bland and so cliche. I have seen all of that... and I can mention the drama names :)
it is impossible that nobody is disliking, upset, critical or questioning about anything... Especially since, if the drama is done well, SOME character(s) / events in the drama will be annoying, controversial, etc. And if the drama has some substance, some watchers will be reflecting and thinking and connecting the dots ..
Also the actors/drama production team needs feedback to make the drama better, even th best drama can be made even better, always, it is a never ending job :) so we always have to stop somewhere :)
