Title The Husband
I am only on episode 1, and the way they are treating the ML is already making me so mad! I know the writers are…
it is his problem he is mistreated like that - he just does not talk. He never talked to his wife. He decided what is "best" for her. So - take the consequences

Title The Husband
The villain in kdrama Miss Incognito was a professional psychologist who volunteered to lead group psychoterapy in prisons, then picked suitable prisoners to befriend, and hung out with them after they got out, and manipulated them to kill for her.

Sounds familiar?

i am watching it just because mr Namkoong is a good actor but the story is 7/10 or less
yeah it was made too bland by filming it like a series of magazine still shots instead of a moving video

No matters how many haters for this drama here, The Husband attracted so many online reviewers updating their…
what saved this one is that the plot FINALLY deepened, we got into the RELATIONSHIPS at the hospital and ML-FL finally had their first talk in a long time

Your post really shows how everyone views things differently. I consider Kim Kyung-ae to be the most multi-dimensional…
yeah she is complex but still...
this drama is not showing how ppl FEEL. The only emotion that clearly comes across is when ppl yell. But more subtle stuff - not really. esp not ML... it is like everything is numbed

they really should treat characters as pepple and not just tools to tell story. there really isnt very good reason…
"treat characters as pepple and not just tools to tell story." imo refers to many characters here, esp ML ... so far we know NOTHING about his inner self
He doesnt talk nor show feelings

A man who will stay and take the hit does NOT exist in real life, unless he has ulterior motives - or he is her father lmao
This idea that a woman can keep dumping her sh.t on her man and expect him to eat it, is a very very very toxic sexist idea that entices women in being irresponsible, it promises that you will get a great guy although you put NO EFFORT to stand up on your own two feet. It makes women believe they will find a man who will treat them like a father and lover rolled into one. It is super sexist bc that "father figure" MAKES DECISIONS on behalf of this woman. Like ML decided it was "best for her" not to tell her. That is a clear abuse of authority

A German critic on episode 9: 5/5 https://x.com/planetreviewde/status/2084600301655400949?s=46&t=D-0TZH-n1fN6yk3WKATTDQ
The plot is very well explained technically in terms of what actions took place, but the explanation has NOTHING about relationships and emotions and communications between characters and the deeper meaning behind the story.
It is like telling Hansel and Grettel went to witches house and she offered them sweets and they threw her into the oven - without mentioning their naivette, witch's rejoicing and cunning, their angst and fear, their bravery, etc.

I really feel for My nonchalant MJ😞...You have never stolen anyone’s happiness or broken anyone’s trust,…
is MJ "nonchalant"?? I would say he is super RESPONSIBLE, definitely not nonchalant... Also, his responsibility comes at a price, he is anxious tight and just ... stiff, and only serving others, he does not seem to live his own life.... First he had to live under orders of his Aunt and surveilance and restrictions of his chaebol dad, then he had to serve to protect JJ... he is definitely NOT nonchalant.

HJ was nonchalant all his life until he met JJ. His first "poke" towards responsibility was when he had to bring JJ in secret and when he met Chloe and wanted to marry her.

MJ never ever got some time for himself, to be free. Maybe in college while he was secretly dating JJ, but that secret was stress too and they could not spend too much time together

Bro how long do you exercise for? These are an hour long epds👁👄👁
There are two things important here: 1. gentle exercise, for example floor stretches or stand up relaxed walking/biking in place, and 2. taking breaks to rest and just watch drama. But you can watch the entire drama while sitting on the floor and gently stretching. ***** Just sitting cross legged is amazing exercise. ****** JUST SITTING ON THE FLOOR IS AN AMAZING EXERCISE!!!! makes you get up and down, makes you stretch your legs, move around.... So... you need to expand your idea of "exercise" :)

FYI You can do a LOT of stuff while watching a drama - fold laundry, clean something, do a hand project that doesnt require looking - like knit or crochet, easily stretch on the floor, slowly run a room bike or treadmill, stand up and walk in place/ shimmy/rotate the hips, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.

BUT - imo if you are able to do too much of that, the drama is shallow. WHY? Bc you do not have to pay too close attention to the acting and dialogue....bc it is too simple

Episode 9 seems to be a stepping stone episode for tomorrow's crucial one(s) for lots more answers to be finally…
100% agree
Yup he is super boring. He was made into strong and silent John Wayne, just more elegant and good looking, but the same kind of guy. From 1950s.
He is a genius in the hospital, clutz in real life, he ventured out of the hospital to save her and made sooo many common sense mistakes, ok, finally managed to save her... but ... they still did not talk. She invited him to talk and SHE talked for him. The drama is made shallow. It is very sexist too, in a very subtle way. He treats her like she was his child, he makes decisions on her behalf.

it is wife's fault too. After the wife cooled down from that scene when she attacks him for not saving their kid, the wife should have come to him and said hey, I am sorry I yelled, and where were you? But she didnt.

So yeah for this drama to be a lot better, husband and wife have to ESTABLISH a connection :) and communication

But look at Agent Kim Reactivated - he and his daughter are together on the screen for like 10 mins in the entire 12 ep drama, and they talk for like 2 minutes... and the entire drama is about Agent Kim fighting to save her, In other words, she is just a cheap exuse to see him fighting for 11.8hrs

Same here - the wife is just a cheap excuse for us to see ML fighting the crime. It is not obvious trash like Agent Kim, but is the same concept

because kdrama viewers only understand if such plots shown as serious thriller...they are not much familiar with…
The issue I was talking about is not a competition, it is neocolonization by the West
plowing over all cultures and westernizing them
Originally, it is just two different "worlds", Eastern and Western countries and there is no competition there at all. But now... to sell it... it gotta be westernized

I was never talking about competition between different "cultures" - it s YOU who thinks of competition there, showing the mental attitude of a westerner :) ...
The only competition I was talking about was to grab the money from the audience and others... So now there are lots of fingers in that kdrama pie, trying to make money off it, and the outsiders are really trying hard to kill kdramas while they are profiting from it.
Bc whichever drama sells well, also sells physical products from that country.
Also, Asian dramas are introducing a different way of thinking and living, and that also is a threat to the western media and corporate industry behind it. Koreans have the say in what values are promoted. There are no drug scenes or gun shootings on the street.... And product placements, paid or not... Every western movie is gonna be showing and thus advertising ... beds, sofas, sodas, sandwiches, pizzas, bread, pastry, vine, whiskey and other hard alcohols, sleeping pills, psychiatrists, etc Do you notice what kdramas include in their plots and have product placements for these days? THAT my dear is THE competition. Corporate competition to push a certain lifestyle and thus their stuff via dramas. And so you just proved that westerners tend to stay on the surface.

It has a, what I call, a telenovela kinda vibe. Back in the day there were plenty of kdramas like these, today…
oh I forgot. There is also Five ENough, ,,,,, About My Mother, I love sitcom High Kick 3 ....
recent Recipe for Love was great quite funny until like ep ... 30? then they draaaaaaged the boring plot and magically wrapped it all up in a sudden and undeserved happy end
Iron family imo was great and very unique and funny also until about past middle
I also liked Our Golden Days until past middle, the liver donation plot. Then I droppd lol It was actually a difficult watch bc the drama addressed a LOT of social issues. So ML was not the usual good guy... And FL was not the usual quiet loser... Which really made it realistic and so interesting! I really liked it but the audience complained... so... the drama made a Uturn into .... old time sexism... ... FL was soooo bland.... ML was so .... doormat... ... and then introduced liver donation and I quit lol

I like current dailies Our Happy Days and Family Register they are really like family dramas but in 30 min eps

Wow that clueless dude is cursing, grabbing and personally offending FL and calling her names, he almost beat her up, and he BELIEVES he is desperately begging her for help LOL and is so pissed off bc she wouldnt comply!!!! woooow... his level of delusion... is rare!!!!! He is a TRUE IGNORAMUS. I cant wait to see what a big hot mess he is gonna create with that married woman. Wow it will be epic. THat dude produces sh.t worth 10 herds of elephants. The other son too lol he was soooo sorry that he disrupted his mothers 30yrs old hate ... omg what a PATHETIC family

And their mother - she supposedly sincerely apologized but it is all fake, she walked out angry. WOW good luck to the acupuncturist.... who already fell in love with her. And... she tooooo...

Wow HJ applause!
Did Knight In Shining Armor HJ do all this to earn he hand of Lady JJ ? I was not a firm believer that he could grow up this fast.... .

And so right now I am waiting to hear WHY he pulled it off :) If he really did it to help JJ his true love, then .. she can safely choose him as her husband. He deserves it.
