I get that she came from a sheltered village life, BUT she did pass with flying colors and make it into college. Given the baby-selling and human-trafficking that goes on everywhere, its unfortunate she didn't pick up a clue and frankly that she didn't make copies of those receipts in the end.
This movie is sooo boring, mundane, desolate. i guess that's what they were going for since this is a film ultimately about the aftermath of the tsunami in Fukushima. I think more could have been accomplished for the sake of the viewer.
i searched everywhere for something with decent resolution but couldn't find anything but the snagfilms below. it does have eng subs, but the resolution comes and goes to the point where you cant read anything because so blurry. i wanted to watch this film so i did suffer thru it. I would say I missed about 20% of the dialogue. I would like to rewatch on a server that doesn't auto adjust constantly while streaming. Or share a link for a download. I couldn't find that either.
Regardless of all that the story was very interesting, compelling, well-acted and scary that this happens but even more scary that there are girls this naive and easily manipulated.
Twitch films did an excellent review on this that covers everything I'd want to say. http://twitchfilm.com/2014/10/busan-2014-review-peter-chans-dearest-devastates.htmlThis…
i put it on hold after 11 ep...most likely indefinitely or until i read something to compel me to finish. I just never liked the female lead character and couldn't related to why her husband was in love with her. I thought the show was more interesting when the golf player was alive and was super disheartened when his character died so early in the show. I felt this drama had more potential overall but can appreciate why many liked it. Just wasn't my bag.
Thanks for the article! Its a cute show so far. While I'm not into the male lead she has been living with for last 3 mos, maybe he'll grow on me. I'm flexible. I do, however, like the unrequited love actor (Otani Ryohei)...more my cup of tea! I first watched when 3 eps were already subbed. I think i read somewhere that this show only releases one ep per week. That makes it easy to watch with not as much commitment as a regular drama, on the other hand, its easier to forget what happened the week or so previously. Will see how it goes...right now i am pleasantly intrigued.
Great article! So interesting. Lots of work and thought processes by you. Really appreciate the time you put into this. <3
p.s. Love the line..."so much potential, too much airtime." I can certainly see that in many long dramas, not just Cdramas, but Kdramas and Taiwanese as well. (I don't recall ever watching a long JDrama)
All I see is arguments in the comments section lol I suppose I will have to find out for myself if this drama…
To net it out for you, this story is about the unraveling of the lives of multiple characters. IU's character is a catalyst for the ML's spiraling business AND personal life becuz she was hired as an con-like person to tail him...provide damaging info and in some cases plant damaging info. He is her boss. She is a temporary worker. She is way poor and in a state of desperation, taking on jobs like this. She is being beaten up regularly by an obsessive loan shark. As of the current ep 12, they do not have a romantic relationship. In watching him as her target, she started to become human and be a little mystified by him..and is kinda liking him. He is so under water with his trauma's that when he learns of it, it is inconceivable to him. Maybe it will turn to something romantic, but its kind of the last thing I am thinking of amidst all the issues they are facing. Maybe it will turn into something romantic, maybe friends, but right now its none of the above. Its more like a bond between 2 people trying to survive a disaster.
Even with all I have said, the above detail is just barely spoilerish. I left out a lot so that you could experience the story as we have who have been watching since the beginning.
It is the best thing going right now and I highly recommend it. The writing and acting by all, including all the supporting cast, is amazing.
what exactly is that about? the title doesn't reach out to me, but Elvis Han does...
ok great. another person recommended it and i am about to have time to check it out in the next day or so...or something else. so is romance thread in it then?
There is some romance but it is very little when compared to the main overarching plot and theme. The main lead…
Your review helped me reconsider. I was on the fence about watching. Not because of the romance issue, but I've seen a number of folks put this on hold and I was wondering why. I think your review helps explain that. I plan to watch fairly soon. Thanks for the info and accepting the friend request!
anyone have a link to this that works well?
