Having worked with nothing but trauma for 12 years as a psychotherapist, I can definitely say the author was spot on the psyche of a severely tortured girl who doesn't believe in anything other than SEEKING JUSTICE while feeling nothing. For untraumatized folks it's impossible to get into the head of someone who was holding on to the memory of love while being killed on the mountain only to have lost all hope coming down from it to the burnt house and no graves of her family for whom she sacrificed herself in the first place. The ML was needed here not to redeem her, but to protect that barely smoldering spark of life in her body and even to build it into a tiny tiny flame in her mind called interest in sharing self with other. If there ever was a continuation, she would be re-learning emotions, mostly love😁

I agree, it was nice to notice their attraction but because how the fl was written (she really doesn't want anything but revenge and has little time left) this was not a romance even if the ml is head over heals at least halfway if not earlier. I posted a link to another novel today that promises a bit different outcome with both leads sitting on the edge of the knife where one side is definitely a comfort of a person who is a mirror image of their psyche and the other previous life knowledge that they killed each other

I am reading After rebirth, I married my archenemy on mydramanovel and there is a scene where ml paints a portrait of the woman who poisoned him to death in the previous life. a visitor recognizes the person in the portrait as his own fiancee and with terror asks who is the painting of to which ml responds "my wife". and it all culinates in ml collapsing in an epilepsy -like manner... it's in ch 30 and up until now I had different figures and faces swimming in my head when reading about the ml, Lu Hua Ting, but after this chapter, I definitely imagine Liu Run Ming as the lead character. It would be so good to see him in this!!!!💕
