what I like here is that men are not pretty dolls. handsome and interesting but not what fantasy dramas sometimes show. I mean compare dudes from Fangs of Fortune, well at least one of them, made up as unreal beauties, to the good looking guys here. very different. ❤️🔥👍

ah the curse of watching too many drama! almost everything reminds us of something we has seen before 😜 the bell in bed and kiss on the horse while he is behind her is the novelty here I think like slide to catch her and kiss from the horse were in Blossoms. I might start a list of "the first" in cdrama🤣🤣🤣

tbh, Chinese men in these dramas are sometimes so effeminate that if we go with that premise (I think men should be handsome and masculine and not pretty and effeminate) it makes sense that pretty boys are not that rare.
and BTW, I love lady boys and femboys!!!! just explaining to myself how a woman could pass as male in these shows.
Dominion and Devotion had a fl androgynous enough to question her gender...

my interpretation is that the dead wife's soul gets into the body of the XH when the younger one dies and while the transplant remembers XH's story from her own original life, she is kinda lost and not having much access to the memories of XH herself (confirming the names of people around as she wakes up in a stranger's body, and completely surprised by affection from her brother and father- that alone screams she didn't inherit the memories of the body she inhabits, but remembersl little -other than that one scene where her brother lets her win a race). we don't see the face of the princes poisoning herself in front of her husband and that also is strange- it's not like they had a shortage of actresses.
this show makes the experienced woman's personality take over the young princess persona (everybody says she has changed) but during the first 25 episodes gives her something she did not have in her original life: awesome, loving father and brother who (unlike her Gu family) do not force her or expect self sacrifice for the clan. the reason why she is so resisting the ml for so long is because she never loved before and I bet her devoted husband from the first life was also all sweet speech like crown prince but still a Confucian scholar (not accommodating her ambition and expecting her to fall in traditional role) so she is distrustful of her ml husband until she is proven wrong in her assessment of crown prince loyalty and selflessness.

looks like this was better than Exhuma and Haunted Palace for sure 👍 just started watching

well, fl actress was really good for her age. I am comparing her to that goofy kid who has been casted for over 10 years against stars and is still immature and bland in all her roles at 19 as well (Rebirth, Perfect Match, Love in a Dream).

I need to ask people who read the novel: was this drama really based on what I read last year marked as Mo Li??? if so, I guess I read a different book. imho the synopsis on MDNovel started with something like "she was the forgotten daughter and he was discarded by royals" and that is all that this drama has in common with the book.

well, you are not the only one. I kid you not: I took more than a week off around the same episode basically because I couldn't figure out what I was watching. I read the novel a year ago and I think the only thing they got from it was "she was forgotten by her family and he was discarded by the palace". so it took about 15 vertical dramas and 3-6 short dramas I had to watch before going back to it. and I finished in 3 days. I decided to watch for the characters and their development or relationships and it worked for me. I gave it 8,5 😜 because of amazing ost

I saw that one and if it's about the transmigtator setting up the girlfriend contract with a prince the ml is definitely Zhou Ling Feng

so now that everybody could see how TXT can act in big productions with big stars perhaps people coming back to this drama will notice how great this story and characters are. I gave it 8/10 two years ago and am standing by my opinion. I liked it because the ml is not some larger than life caricature of a man, but a genuinely boring dude who is really good at his job and complete dud in the romance department. I prefer characters who are reminding real people and not another figment of screenwriter's imagination who was born a Phoenix or can walk on water. Xu Mu Chen is complete opposite of prince Duan in How Dare You? as he lacks confidence in dealing with a woman, to the point of becoming an awkward fool. But he knows his craft and that's a heck of a task for any actor to portray without falling into smugness of overall self assured self like 2/3ml.I honestly don't know why this kind of story and characters would not be a subject of applaud for the actors and the team, but I have been going back to watch Tang Xiao Tian in other roles just to appreciate his talent

I always wonder when reading these plots how delusional the killer for hire or assassin or someone with that kind of "job" must be to think" oh yea, I will get pregnant and give birth to an innocent being who will have a killer for a mother and probably either lose me early on or become a target of my enemies or pawn of my employer. that sounds like an ideal motherly love and life". completely ridiculous. but hey it's the entertainment value of knowing that killers for hire have hearts as any sociopath does😜 how wonderfully relatable - just like Ivanka buying an island with wildlife refuge to turn it into luxury resort for elite.

I like many actresses by she is the first one I did a spree on meaning I watched each and every thing with her I could find online.

this was by far the best cross dressing plot I had seen in VDs or regular cdramas. both leads had done amazing job and the production it was coherent with well developed characters 9/10 for me!❤️👍🏅
