She was a powerful concubine. Then she was accused of adultery, and I think plotting something. I have to rewatch…
Kang Dam-shin was never timid - she tried to run away (from slavery), disrespected the other maids. To show any disrespect to a royal would have sentenced her to death. Kang Dam-shin's bio says that she survived with her wits and beauty.
I saw the clip and he gets the memories of the past. Looked so sad
are you forgetting that Kang Dam-shim eventually became The Royal Consort/Concubine??? She didn't die to save Joseon ML - she was killed because the King (Joseon Mun-do) grew tired of her and the ministers thought that she was the cause of the drought in the kingdom.
We still don't know what happened in between these two events.
My reincarnation theory stands. In today's episode, Seori used English words, specifically "dopamine".…
It's been my theory from the beginning as well. Just watching the intro lays it all out. (including the happy ending)
It's been Dam-shim's soul (her personality as a child actress) from the beginning. The car accident (will we ever see the white truck of doom?) was traumatic enough to push her out of the limelight for several years.
when the inital comedy wears off , the show is pretty blah, at least this ep was.
The chaotic humor is what sets this drama apart from most and yes, Ep.7 didn't provide the usual hysterical scenes as before. Hoping we get the bad/traumatic Joseon stuff behind us soon so crazy laughter can once again be at the forefront.
Production team: "On tonight episode, The emotional past-life story of Dansim and Yi Hyeon will finally be…
Let's get it over with because this is always the worst part of these dramas. At least it's earlier than "Destined with You" which didn't provide the historical context until the last couple of episodes.
I read somewhere (perhaps here on MDL?) that in a recent interview, Park Eun Bin said that a Season 2 is hoped for, all depending on the ratings.
Well, it's No. 2 on Netflix Non-English. In terms of views per hour, it's already passing up Sold Out On You and My Royal Nemesis. I think Season 2 is quite possible, although they have to wait until Cha Eun Woo is released from the military.
was this show not promoted much or do i just live under a rock? it never came under my radar and i just happen…
I stumbled across it as well, probably because I've been watching a couple of other kdramas on Netflix. It's #2 on Netflix Non-English and will likely be one of the top Netflix kdramas this year.
How's the rating for ep7? I saw it gets like 18%or something
10.7% for Ep 7.
"The broadcast recorded a peak viewership rating of 10.7% and a nationwide 9.4% (according to Nielsen Korea), ranking first in its time slot and also ranking first among all miniseries aired throughout the week. In particular, the 2049 target audience rating soared to a peak of 4.29%, setting a new personal record and continuing its impressive box office performance."
I posted this below but I had the same question so looked it up. Disney doesn't own the copyright. 😊The song…
Oh, tish-tosh. Walt Disney was a genius entrepreneur capitalist who understood that focusing on excellence (animation) was the way to prosper and succeed. In that era, music was either purchased via records (LPs) or sheet music - there were no tape cassettes, CDs, I-pods or Spotify. It required a totally different distribution mechanism. It was a wise move - money coming in to help fund his studio. He built the brand and then branched out to live-action movies, television and theme parks.
i wonder how did they get the copyright permission for the disney theme they used at the end of ep 7... disney…

The song is from one of Disney's first animations (Pinocchio) and at the time, Disney (like most studios) didn't have the means to license/distribute songs/music. So they sold their music to ??? somebody??? who licenses it around the world.
I loved the nod to the "cosmic" theme of this drama.
So someone pointed on X (twitter) that at the end of the last scene they used a Disney song. This is awesome
"When you Wish Upon A Star" is THE iconic Disney song - played at the theme parks as you enter, played at night during the fireworks. When I heard it, I thought - how much did they have to pay Disney? But, turns out another company owns the rights.
I think she forgot all about his attempted bribe until he re-appeared again - with photos of grandmama.
