that is true. a lot of my family members are still ashamed many said we had hands inside of such a dark history. I would much rather look towards the future and not be ashamed of the past. recently on Weibo a hot search happened younger generations as myself were at a cultural Chinese history museum and was shown what happened. many left feeling ashamed. but I agree with you. there’s always two sides of a story and no country is a saint.

it’s understandable how she still loves her. that’s her grandma and truth be told she didn’t do anything wrong. she was heartbroken back then and followed the rules same as the granddad and father. can’t blame the Li Zhen for still loving her. She also secretly helps the Li eight branch without it being known to others. I see nothing wrong with that. But this is my opinion so I understand others might think otherwise. I just wanted to say let’s look at it from her perspective. she is the only granddaughter of the Li ink family and most cherish for that. even with all the bad she is and will always look at her as family. likewise with the grandmother.

I really actually like their republican dramas. this drama as a Japanese person is also intriguing as they will introduce Japanese pirates. yes in the past Japanese people not all but most were horrible. however the newer generation like myself are ashamed of our ancestors. we’re still proud to be Japanese but we’re also not proud of trying to enslaved and rule others. the only time I get offended is when I think they overused the same plot.

exactly. douban is also at times bias I go by charts. which is why I stay on my Weibo account watching how this drama is dominating China

they are and many are just not liking the plots. personally I’m loving both dramas. On one hand you have viewers begging for romance with the leads with ZZA. Which isn’t any romance as it was called a non romance drama. On this hand you have others upset this drama the heir is barely any romance. I don’t know why many just cant drop a drama without being so cruel about it. I just rated all 42 episodes 10 and saw 5.5 rating for each 42 epsiode. If you don’t like the drama just drop it but do give it a fair chance and rating imo before you.

it just made it to 8.0 but dropped today again. same with ZZA it’s now 7.9 again when it returned to 8.0

I understand. So am I, sadly it can be overhyped but every country is like that I think. America is also doing the same. Yes at times it becomes crude and tasteless but that’s the world we live in. I do believe China has a better handle on there’s from time to time.

I think what Yang Zi chooses is scripts that speaks to her. nationally and women rights. to us it can feel propaganda. As a Japanese person I’m actually okay with this. As my people in the past were no saints and even now we’re having a sense of rewnel nationalism. I say give it more time and if you still don’t find it interesting at least you tried. I actually think this drama is better than Flourished peony. But that’s just me.

not netizens shipping Luo eldest brother and Li Zhen. Weibo had a hot search about them. I also think their chemistry is pretty amazing especially since he’s 49 but looks early 30s. I hope to see them in a crime thriller mystery drama as leads.

Another thing I wanna point out is I really am loving the heir more than Flourished peony and in the name of the blossom. Yang Zi here is amazing (she was amazing in that drama as well too.) However here she’s more stronger, determined, and willed minded. Also her makeup and hairstyles are very gorgeous. I get the tang dynasty makeup in FP but them eyebrows were at times jump scare. Really happy she choose this script.

wrap up special was amazing and omg it even trended on Weibo both jelly and Zhang linghe. so excited for this drama and CP.
