yeah even if the douban score stays a 6.1 I’m not sure if you watched best choice ever. but that douban score was also low in fact it was 6.4 just three points extra. It still broke records. This drama I will agree with you did aired right when POJ hyped is still going on, Splendid beauty was airing which douban for that is I believe 5.1 and Bad luck drama which douban is 8.0 there’s also another drama who broke 30,000 on Tencent. So there is that aspect and the fact it’s airing during ZZA who is also taking hits with its ratings but still did managed to grab its spot on Youku hall of fame. If you choose to keep watching as someone who is Japanese I will say the Japan pirates are in this coming to steal their ink skills etc. This drama holds special heart place because of the amount of weight debit as a Japanese person we had on Chinese cultural and people. The romance is also though haven’t started and is slow burn pretty good. Both Yang Zi and Elvis Han have agreeded to do another project soon. If you’re into heavy stuff might I suggest if you like yang Zi acting to check out her up and coming bio pic drama The way you come back. She plays ages ranging from 60-70 years. She plays a true real life person. The family personally asked for her to play their mother / grandmother. It just wrapped so it might aired this year or next. But there’s some wrap up and other trailers out there. I think Yang Zi acting in that is born to be alive worthy. Also born to be alive is a true story about a rescue team saving animals in a region in China. it’s good and has a douban score of 8.3

I mean it is a female centric drama and family drama. So you will see the family more so than the Female lead at times. Then you will get a balance. If you don’t like it no need to feel guilty and say why. Just simply stop watching and find yourself something that catches your eyes. I mean no harm but we’ve had too many people with these types of comments trying to discredit and discourage people who want to watch the drama spite the bombing of 1.0 rating for 42 episodes and the drama just made it to 20 episodes. The rating was 8.0 and then it dropped to 7.4,7.7, now just rose to 7.8. There’s also the constant bringing name calling, beauty shaming to yang Zi. The drama reached 9000 heat index is top 2 and top 1 on different charts. Has been certified as IqYI hit. It’s steadily climbing and predicted to reached 10000 heat this week. I made a post saying it’ll hit 9000 this week and it did. The drama has made it to English newspaper and quizzes. It’s in Chinese media newspapers etc. Why I’m telling you all of this beats me. 😭 I guess to show haters (not you) that spite you not loving or feeling intrigued the drama is doing well. spite the hate on mdl, IMDb and even douban. Many are just hating as this is the first ever cultural historical drama about inking making in China. It’s been classified by the govt etc. Some call this propaganda, others call this a reapeat from Flourished peony. One was also Chinese cultural but about flowers. This drama holds more special meaning to Chinese people. I hope you would give it another chance not for the cast but for yourself if you choose too. However, if you just wanna drop it be my guess. Some think splendid beauty is better. Why I’m sure the plot is nice I am not sold on the leads acting skills. With this drama they have some heavy weight actors and I’m not talking about Yang Zi.
