I mean it is a female centric drama and family drama. So you will see the family more so than the Female lead at times. Then you will get a balance. If you don’t like it no need to feel guilty and say why. Just simply stop watching and find yourself something that catches your eyes. I mean no harm but we’ve had too many people with these types of comments trying to discredit and discourage people who want to watch the drama spite the bombing of 1.0 rating for 42 episodes and the drama just made it to 20 episodes. The rating was 8.0 and then it dropped to 7.4,7.7, now just rose to 7.8. There’s also the constant bringing name calling, beauty shaming to yang Zi. The drama reached 9000 heat index is top 2 and top 1 on different charts. Has been certified as IqYI hit. It’s steadily climbing and predicted to reached 10000 heat this week. I made a post saying it’ll hit 9000 this week and it did. The drama has made it to English newspaper and quizzes. It’s in Chinese media newspapers etc. Why I’m telling you all of this beats me. 😭 I guess to show haters (not you) that spite you not loving or feeling intrigued the drama is doing well. spite the hate on mdl, IMDb and even douban. Many are just hating as this is the first ever cultural historical drama about inking making in China. It’s been classified by the govt etc. Some call this propaganda, others call this a reapeat from Flourished peony. One was also Chinese cultural but about flowers. This drama holds more special meaning to Chinese people. I hope you would give it another chance not for the cast but for yourself if you choose too. However, if you just wanna drop it be my guess. Some think splendid beauty is better. Why I’m sure the plot is nice I am not sold on the leads acting skills. With this drama they have some heavy weight actors and I’m not talking about Yang Zi. I hope my comment helps with why this drama deserves its praises spite you and others not liking it and I also hope my comment doesn’t rub you the wrong way. she looks so freaking good today. I wanna see her pair with Yang Yang in a wuxia fantasy drama someday. It doesn’t even have to be romance just as long as their main leads. I also think she would look nicely with Allen ren in a wuxia drama.

Please let the 🍉 be true and that Yang Zi is finally taking on an empress role. The very first empress of Han Dynasty. Empress Deng Sui. I need this so badly. I want her to dabble into these roles and supense more. No more family dramas and female centric business dramas. I wanna see romance dramas again even if just one per year. I’m glad I enjoy slow dramas and don’t care about romance. It was this way with flourished peony. Many hated there was no romance until second half and still didn’t liked what they got. To each their own. But this drama is freaking good. Learning bout ink making is actually intersting. I also loved how Li Zhen isn’t a Mudan. She doesn’t seem to be forgiving so far. Which is definitely a plus. I can’t wait till we get to closer waters with more juicy scenes.

wrong biopic is yang Zi actually drama the way you come back. this is just a female centric drama about traditional ink making. it’s cultural and historical not biopic with romance as not the full focus.

romance isn’t focus here. it’s female centric drama and history of ink making and family. the romance is only sub part. So far even though it’s just starting the chemistry is there. they made it on HS on Weibo today for their onscreen and offscreen chemistry. If you like slow build up romance go for it. if not this might not be the drama for you. unless you love strong female centric dramas. hope this help.

I was told on Weibo when asked the director / writer said there will no romance nothing of such. What he wanted to show was the story of the ML and his trails and the bonds he builds. Which I think shows very well. Which makes those who want romance dream of it. Yang Yang hasn’t done romance dramas since Fireworks of my heart. With that drama he got so much hate for people saying crazy crap. TIA his last hit didn’t have romance but with that drama you clearly saw FL in love. You also could feel the Ml loved her or at least liked her more than just a friend in some scenes. He also felt something for his future wife. It’s just what people chooses to see. Some asked me about my gif pic. I just tell em these are two of my favorite actors. They’re not a couple in the drama but novel. If you haven’t seen TIA I suggest watching it. really good drama. He’s also good in MU and MU2. 😊

Yang Zi and Elvis Han live was so funny. This is Yang Zi first CP in years I feel like she can be herself and relax. Without worrying about crazy fans, or public. Elvis Han has such a laid back personality I adore. Their CP gives me the same feeling with the behind the scenes shooting of Immortal Samsara. They agreed for second collaboration after Yang Zi has break. So happy. I hope a modern drama or republican, suspense.

likewise I’m currently still following IA donghua as well. You’re going to love MU as well many didn’t like season 2 but I did. SSS is definitely one of my favs people wanted romance like how they are wishing for romance in ZZA. However with SSS there is romance you just don’t see any kiss scenes. but the drama definitely shows it in more like hugging, longing and words and actions that give a clear sense these two are in love. Teresa Li is one of my favs and definitely has a lot of powerhouse roles mostly movies now. But she’s the youngest to win pregtious acting awards. That shows her talent. You should check out her movie Viva La Vida it’s so good and heartbreaking. base on true story.
