Absolute kudos to the actress that portrays Ming Lan's mother in law. Every time that woman has a scene, even to take a sip of tea, I have to pause the show to stop yelling at the screen and get my blood pressure back down.
With Park Bo Gum and and Song Hye Kyo I was really expecting a very original and special drama. What I got was…
I thought Park Bo Gum and Song Hye Kyo both did a good job, the cinematography was outstanding, the plot line vaguely interesting. I think this series lacked realistic grit; Song Hye Kyo's character needed less of a stoic attitude, Pak Bo Gum's character should have flashed more of a temper. I'd love for both of the above actors to play in something against type and show their true acting ability.
Actually I'm pretty sure Dylan Wang's company, Tencent Pictures is responsible for pushing Arthur off Season 2…
Thanks for the insight, Erudite. I agree with another comment in that it's surprising that Arthur Chen was replaced due to his father's influence in the entertainment business. I did see a video of Dylan Wang learning fight scene choreography and he looked pretty good.
The most pitiful people in this era are ultimately the slaves who get sold and killed and beaten and played with…
In going along with the slavery issue, the way that marriage / women were regarded as a family commodity blows my mind. In the latest episode, Gu Ting Ye is mad that his wife Sheng Ming Lan doesn't rant and rave about a concubine. I wondered, from a female point of view, how intimacy between your husband and another women would not bring out murder, but the carefully laid out plot line showed how little input women and their children had in any decision . Maintaining your husbands favor guaranteed somewhat of a life and a wife's interaction with her husband had to be carefully thought out and planned. That being said, I would have probably been discarded / murdered pretty fast....
I wish this drama could have atleast one more season! I love Hyun Bin's portrayal of Yoo Jin Woo. Push him into a corner and a really cold, calculating SOB becomes your opponent. Love it!
The first four episodes of this drama made me almost drop it, thinking the show pace was too slow. I will gladly shout to the rooftops that my opinion was terribly wrong. The writers seemed to be fleshing out the characters and their backstory and the show pacing is carefully low key to allow all personality facets to be shown. I'm well hooked into this drama at episode 17 .
Starting was great. But now it's getting boring..and I can see the awkwardness between the two leads..instead…
This would have been soooooo much better if the female lead, instead of being stoic and somewhat passive, had hauled off and karate punched her mother in law and ex husband (for not standing up for her) . This quiet endurance , although written as a heroic trait, makes me throw things at the tv.
looking at the votes bloody romance isn't going to win but that drama is very underrated and is better than ashes…
For the amount of money that Bloody Romance had versus the other productions, it was the miracle Chinese drama baby of 2018. I felt the Legend of Fu Yao and Ashes of Love should have had 20 less episodes to be a really good drama. Instead, they place "filler" episodes in which, my opinion only, bored the viewer by drawing out the plot points.
My favorite current airing drama, the story might be cliché but it’s the kind of drama that I truly love, also…
I agree. Originally, I put this one off thinking that the plot had been done enough. When I started watching, the two leads drew me inside the story and I binge watched all the way up to episode 16. So far, love it.
