Yeah I agree. Also A frozen flower was really good! Honestly one of my favourite under the mature tagged movies
Aight then!

Comedy:

1- Secretes in The Hot Spring (Taiwanese movie about three teen boys who create troubles in their school by misunderstanding and so have to run away for a while to avoid bullies by going to an old traditional inn that the MC's grandparents own to realize the inn is super haunted and so they end up going through tons of funny and stupid moments thanks to it and grow closer. It also has BL elements). Watch it to fully get the plot, I didn't want to overly spoil it, but it;s among my top comedy movies and I re-watched it like 6 times.

2- Ossan's Love: Love or Dead (This is Japanese movie that has a drama that you should watch first with same name, it's about a married old boss who falls for his employee and then a love triangle starts when another employee that is same age as the employee also falls with the employee and shit gets chaotic thanks to it. It has a Chinese adaption too which is also very funny).

Romance:

1- Two Lights: Relumino (Korean short super cute movie about two blind people falling in love, with gorgeous cast). I re-watched this one about 5 times lmao

2- Your Eyes Tell (Japanese movie about a former illegal boxer who fall in love with a blind woman, it has a Korean original called Always but I prefer the Japanese).

Drama (As in depressing shit lmao)/slice of life:

1- Shoot My Heart (Korean movie about the awful treatment people in mental asylums get...etc).

2- A werewolf Boy (Korean sad romance movie about a werewolf boy who falls for a teen girl...etc).

3- Hwayi: A Monster Boy (Korean movie about a boy who get kidnaped and manipulated by a group of criminals, it could fit into the thriller/crime/action genres to, but to me the story was more sad).

4- Nobody Knows (Japanese movie inspired by a real case of a mother abandoning her kids and them trying to figure out ways to live on their own, oldest one was 11 or 12 years old only and that shit was dark, the kid main actor did an amazing job playing his role).

5- Better Days (Chinese movie about two troubled teens who end up falling in love and supporting each other while trying to handle the shit they have to go through from society and adults).

6- Inseparable Bros (Korean movie about two kids whom one is disabled as in can't walk and other is mentally disabled who become like real brothers, help and support each other till they become adults...etc although the concept is depressing, but it also has nice comedy scenes).

7- A Taxi Driver (Korean movie from real life events that shows how cruel the Korean army or something were at dealing with riots and awful living conditions in some state, I don't remember exactly but the movie with very emotional and dark).

8- Aftershock (Chinese movie from real events about an awful earthquakes that happened and lead to tons of people dying and suffering and the awful decisions they had to make like sacrificing people and limbs for survival during these moments).

9- Secretly Greatly (Korean movie about North Korean spies hiding in South Korea, their missions, bromance, and miserable lives and conditions they had to go through by force). It start as comedy then take a 180 turn and becomes very dark.

10- My Way (Korean movie set during world war about a Korean and Japanese dudes who started as rivals and enemies then became friends and brothers during the awful war and what they had to go through in that time, very emotional and violent).

11- Orange (Japanese movie adapted from an anime and mange that includes time travel elements and it revolves around teen friends who try to save one of them from dying in future. Very sweet movie).

Horror/Thriller:

1- Confessions (Japanese movie about a high school teacher who lost her kid daughter who got murdered by some of her students and her plan of getting revenge on them, super dark and amazing).

2- Detention (Taiwanese movie inspired by real events then turned into a horror plot about the shit Taiwanese people, mostly students had to go through before they managed to get free from mainland China...etc). It also has a drama with same name.

3- Train to Busan (Korean movie about zombies, best zombie movie in the world in my opinion).

4- Inhuman Kiss (Thai romance horror movie about a boy falling in love with some sort of Thai mythical creatures that is a girl that can sperate her head from her body and feast on animals or humans, and how he somehow managed to make her stay humane and their tragic love story).

Crime/action:

1- Crows Zero (Japanese movie about high school gangs/delinquents. It's a must watch).

2- High & Low movies (There are like 5 or 6 movies of this one along with a two seasons drama, it's about Japanese gangs and yakuza and it's great, watch the drama first then go for the movies. It has amazing fight scenes, cast, and ost songs).

3- Confession (Korean movie about three super close friends in which two of them end up committing an awful crime against parents of the third and they try to hide by it leads to their misery and suffering).

BL:

1- Farewell My Concubine 1993 (Chinese movie about two Chinese opera singers falling in love and the issues they had to face thanks to it, betrayal blah blah
It's sad, doesn't have that much sex scenes, but the plot is just very nice).

2- Ai no Kotodama (Japanese cute BL movie about two friends/roommates/lovers).

3- Your Name Engraved Herein (Taiwanese movie about two teen boys who fall in love yet have to suffer due to them not being able to fully accept it...etc).

4- Two Weddings and a Funeral (Korean movie about a gay couple and a lesbian couple who fake their straight marriages to avoid hearing shit from their families, but it leads to tons of issues).

5- We Are Gamily (The Taiwanese version of two weddings and a funeral but this version is super funny unlike the Korean one that leans more towards the dark side, the two have a bit of differences which set them apart so it wouldn't feel like watching the same movie at all. I personally preferred this one honestly).

6- A Round Trip to Love (Chinese BL movie with two parts that was aired before the whole ban crap existed and to be honest it has very toxic and dark elements, but still I somehow still managed to enjoy it due to the chemistry and sad sides of the plot).

7- No Regrets (Korean movie about two adult men which has something to do with prostitution...etc it's more on the dark, mature, and artistic side).

8- No Touching At All (Japanese movie about a guy who kind of has a phobia of being intimate with someone then falls in love and manage to overcome that issue).

9- Method (Korean movie about an actor and a young idol who fall in love after getting casted to play main roles in a theatre gay love story, and how they get in trouble thanks to it).

10- Like in The Movies (Filipino movie about two guys who become housemates and it lead them to fall for each other, very nice and artistic movie).

11- In between Seasons (Korean sad movie about two boys who fall for each other and hide it from one of their mother then shit happens and it lead to the secrete being revealed...etc).

12- Close-Knit (So this is actually a love story between a transgender and a man and the shit they have to deal with thanks to the whole transgender thing, while they try to become a family).

13- Dear Tenant (Very sad Taiwanese movie about a gay man who get discriminated against by everyone due to it).

14- The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese (Japanese dark movie about obsession and non faithful love).

Music:

1- Beck (Japanese movie about an indie rock band, it's very realistic and cool ). It has an anime and manga too.

2- Nana (Japanese movies that is live adaptation of the Josei romance anime/manga with same name. It revolves around two girls with the name Nana who meet in train then become roommates then best friends later, one is in a punk rock band and the two become very close and they also deal with their messed up romance life...etc).

3- Kids on The Slope (Japanese/ has an anime that's great and I guess also a manga. About three friends, a girl and two boys who end up falling in love with Jazz music and make a band, there is a love triangle between the three also).

4- The Box (Korean movie about a young man who wants to become a musician but suffers from stage fright so he decided to perform by hiding in a big long box and singing in that state so he won't see the audience, it sounds funny as hell but it's actually a very sweet movie).

Sci Fi:

1- Gantz (Japanese horror Sci Fi movie with two parts about people who die then get their souls trapped by some alien machine that forces them to fight creepy ass alien in return for getting their bodies and lives back, I wrote a shit explanation but the movies are actually great). It also has an anime, manga, and a 3D anime movie.

2- As The Gods Will (Japanese Sci Fi horror movie about teens who get stuck in an awful survival games).

Mature:

1- the handmaiden (Japanese-Korean movie with lesbian couple and it's freaking great).

2- Helter Skelter (Japanese movie talking about how toxic celebrities and plastic surgery culture can be...etc).

3- Love and Leashes (Korean, about BDSM culture and two adult co-workers becoming lovers thanks to it, it's actually more on the funny and cute side than dark and erotic).

4- Call Boy (Japanese movie about a young man who becomes a male prostitute basically and what he has to go through while doing that, including getting to know more about his clients and their issues).

Fantasy/historical:

1- The Ying-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity (My favorite Chinese movie, I love it a lot and it has amazing bromance/subtle BL elements).

2- L.O.R.D (Chinese movie with 2 parts so far, you can watch the drama L.O.R.D: Critical World first to fully understand the plot and characters. The drama is very good and has strong bromance/BL vibes, but movies are better when it comes to the epicenes and fight scenes...etc).

3- Wuliang (Short sad and emotional Chinese movie with BL elements).

4- Rurouni Kenshin (Japanese historical movie about samurai with great plot and action scenes). It has an anime and I guess a manga too.

5- Seondal: The Man ho Sells the River (Korean movie about a scammer who messes with nobles selling them odd stuff, it has both comedy and sad stuff).

Sport:

1- Rookies (Japanese movie that has a drama you must watch before about a high school troubled teens who end up being encouraged by their odd and clumsy passionate teacher with a kinda dark past to become a successful baseball team).

2- Leap (Chinese movie about the national volleyball Chinese women volleyball team and their story and achievements so it's inspired by real events, they actually casted actual players to make the movie as realistic as possible).

3- Cheer Boys (Japanese movie adapted from an anime about a college students who create a cheerleading boys only team).

4- Ashita no Joe (Japanese movie about boxing. Adapted from an anime and I guess a manga).

Wait, this drama is inspired by real case? What's the case name? I want to read about it...Also if that is the…
Yeah, if it was pure fiction with no real story then I wouldn't care how much gorey and disturbing the whole thing can get since I do love these types of plots, but knowing actual people went through such things makes you instantly get uncomfortable.

So far the messages I got are:

1- Killing people is bad no matter what they do to you, even if they literally rape and torture the shit out of you, you shouldn't bother taking revenge nor harm them (Which is yeah, I do believe that spending the rest of your life in jail or get executed over the bastards who harmed you greatly isn't worth it, but I still would get if someone go that far). Also if you do go that far then you're instantly considered a monster, and no one will give two fucks about why you reached that point, nor question the people who made you that way.

2- Being rich makes you almost invincible to all shit things you do in your life. The law and almost everyone will be on your side no matter what (Which happens a lot in South Korea in real life sadly).

3- You shouldn't harm kids cause they might grow up to become serial killers, and harm you back so avoid all that headache by not doing that shit.

All are super irritating messages, and this is inspired by real events which makes me even more agitated. Like I want to smack the shit out of the script writers are this point.

Plot holes...lmao the amazing amount of plot holes is what ruining this drama.
Nope, they just kept changing their mind trying to come up with as much predictable and stupid plot twists as possible and ignoring important parts when writing the plot. At this point I might not even be able to give this drama a 8/10 rating, cause am getting genuinely pissed off.

Feels a lot like Big Mouth were they made the plot awfully mysterious and filled with plot twists (Which were actually great, the first like 8 episodes were basically flawlessly written then it went downhill from there sadly which is typical for a Kdrama...). Many other dramas are trying to do the same thing, but be failing in a very Miserable manner.

Exactly! They don't talk about the subject in the proper way. Making everyone call the kids psychos and the real bastards are living normally and making achievements. The drama is about to end and everyone who tortured the kids are just doing what they want freely...
In a way they totally deserve the type of punishment shown in Vincenzo drama, that shit was so satisfying.

Actually something similar happened in my country before like a month or so, a mother left her daughter in a street…
I also hope that she manages to find a loving parents to take care of her (Though I highly doubt it will happen since in my country adoption isn't popular at all. Some people would even get divorced with their spouse and marry another all cause they needed a child and their spouse couldn't do it instead of just adopting. It's viewed in a very ugly manner here, and the kids are viewed as kids created from a forbidden relationship, which makes them a forbidden kid kind of logic.
So most orphan kids die in said orphanages due to the shit conditions and neglect by the workers, and very few stay there till they become an adult if they are lucky enough to stay alive that long).

She defiantly needs a therapy or something as well, the fact that some people could go as far as lashing out their anger like that on a kid and leaving them with painful scars to keep reminding them of their terrifying past is just...like why?!!

I also almost dropped the drama cause of her at some point. Typical dense, weak, and overly naïve saint FL. Though…
Yeah, that part was also awfully absurd to me. Like seriously 10 years and he couldn't find anyone else that could catch his attention and is just stuck in his lovesick state over the teen girl he interacted with for like few weeks back in High School?! We are not living in the medieval ages when people went all Romeo and Juliet mode over someone from the first sight lmao

It’s a fail for me sorry. The people whose children were killed are not languishing in agony every episode because…
Exactly! They tortured and raped the orphan kids like it's nothing, then lived their lives as if nothing happened, you actually think such people will be that caring towards their own kids when they did all that to innocent kids before?!

They are trash who only care about their own lives and wealth. Their kids had nothing to do with their heinous crimes, so it was pointless to kill them. It greatly shows from how they are still trying so hard to put the blame on each other and keep the secrete hidden after what happened to their own kids thanks to them. They don't even deserve to be called human beings cause they have zero regret and sympathy.

okay but something I will never understand in kdramas is how mothers just leave their kids in the most insane…
Actually something similar happened in my country before like a month or so, a mother left her daughter in a street in a neighborhood, telling her to wait for her till she come back but never came back and the kid kept waiting silently till it was dark, later after a day or two passed with the kid sitting there people finally approached her and took her to the police and realized she was tortured since she had burn scars all over her back.
I'm not sure what happened next, but they didn't really manage to find her mother and I guess the kid was put in an orphanage or something.
And many people will be saying stuff like "No parent will harm their child blah blah" worshiping all parents, what a joke!

This might sound like I'm venting, but hear me out: (also does not contain any spoilers)Nearly a day has passed…
Wait, this drama is inspired by real case? What's the case name? I want to read about it...
Also if that is the case then using this drama as more of an entertainment purpose than a way to show the messed up things victims had to go through, and showing how the assholes who tortured them paid the price like other dramas/movies (Like Silenced, Children, and A Taxi Driver for example where they managed to show the horrors people went through, and it was actually educating and terrifying. They all were almost a documentary).

I don't think it's right to use actual suffering of people as a "form of inspiration" to make entertainment that doesn't properly show how dark and disturbing the whole thing is, though I'm not trying to slander the watchers or whatever if they enjoy it still. My issue here is that in the drama plot they kinda make the boys/victims here more as psycho revenge maniacs/monsters who would even harm people who has nothing to do with their suffering pay the price (The kids of the people who tortured them I mean) than make them truly victims...something just feels off with the writing. There isn't enough understanding and sympathy for the victims to cut it short.

can't be bothered to write a review. i really liked this drama until it started veering towards the direction…
I totally agree with you, as someone with shit parents who both abused and abandoned me and older brother who bullied the shit out of me (Not saying this for sympathy, I'm already an adult now, and I just want to prove your point), yeah what happened to me made me depressed and have other issues (I did wish they would just die and leave me alone, and did have violent and suicidal thoughts every now and then in my darkest moments, not gonna lie), but it didn't make me want to actually go murdering people, or attack anyone in my family for revenge. I never even hit anyone in my life till this day and instead I preferred to live a decent life, avoid all mistakes they done in their lives, and become much better than them, than just throw the rest of my life away all to revenge.

Just cause someone did something awful to you, it doesn't instantly make you turn into a monster like them, some people end up becoming even more kind due to it with people with similar issues cause they understand how awful it feels. I highly dislike the message of this drama. Instead of making the assholes who made the kids suffer pay for it, they made it seem as if they are also victims in a way, made their kids who had nothing to do with it pay the price, and made the actual victims seem like monsters, what is this shit?!

I also almost dropped the drama cause of her at some point. Typical dense, weak, and overly naïve saint FL. Though I wouldn't say I literally hate her, but I got tired of this overused type of character already, and I can't stand how meek the authors like to make women in dramas, and yet every male in the show will be obsessed with said character to death.
