The sweetness of the main leads almost gave me diabetes

Decided to pick this up on a whim because I'm a big fan of both of the main leads (Amy from The Eternal Love, and Eden from his days in SpeXial and from The Day of Becoming You). While I felt like the first episode was a bit weak and made it hard for me to picture liking the two leads together, I genuinely fell in love with this drama and had such a good time watching it! It's so so cliche, but nonetheless such an adorable watch. Despite being full of tropes, I'm also thankful it didn't include a lot of the more unlikeable tropes in dramaland (e.g. parents that oppose of the lead's relationship, intense second lead syndrome).

Gu Chen Yu and Xia Xiao Ning were so flippin' adorable. Despite some hiccups in their relationship, they were always open with each other, and genuinely felt like an old married couple. They got together quite early on, and didn't have any dumb breakup due to misunderstandings like other dramas. Their chemistry felt super natural, and Amy and Eden def delivered a satisfying amount of fan service haha. One of my new fav CPs in dramaland!

The story of the secondary couple was def more just for jokes, but they were also super fun to watch. Their characters were a little more animated, and they went through some wild shenanigans, but also quite cute too!!

In general, the story was not super plot driven or intense. At Pineapple FM, the main focus was on Lethe, which is the connecting storyline drawing all the characters together. However, I actually really liked that it was more simple, and focused more on character development rather than fitting in as many storylines as they could. Some episodes were definitely fillers, but I still enjoyed watching them just as much!

Hao Yan Ran was ofc, in typical drama manner, evil and pathetic. Even after being called out, she still displays victim mentality and had no redeeming qualities. My main complaint is that Chen Yu should have fired her earlier (along with her assistant Luo Li - like why was she so invested in other people's personal business???). I also expected Chen Yu to call out the people gossiping about Xia Xiao Ning, but otherwise, he was a great character!

Overall, I would def recommend this if you're looking for a light watch that will make you giggle like a 5 yr old, and cheer you up on a bad day! Will definitely be checking out more works from the main leads!
