Personally, I’m still team live-action 😂 I don’t have anything against AI dramas, but I really hope short dramas continue to give real actors opportunities too. For some actors, these could be a source of side income or even a stepping stone toward their careers.

And honestly, I just prefer watching real people act. There’s something about the facial expressions, emotions and chemistry that makes the story feel more real to me. AI can definitely have its place, but I hope it won’t completely replace real actors.

I really appreciated how much depth there was to the story, especially with the slow-burn strategy, revenge, power struggles, and character development. From the first episode, I got the impression that the rebirth aspect would be more about the leads trying to change their fate through political schemes, revenge, and all the power struggles. So I went into this expecting the drama to focus more on that, and I was honestly surprised that almost half of it ended up revolving around marriage schemes and toxic family dynamics.

I’ll be honest, I really struggled with that part because the marriage schemes just kept coming back again and again. 😭 And while the leads’ relationship was developing at such a painfully slow pace, I was constantly waiting for them to finally get closer, especially when they already had so little screen time together. 😂

But even then, I never really found myself fully invested. I enjoyed certain parts and appreciated what the drama was trying to do, but there was still something missing for me. After episode 13, I finally had to drop this drama AGAIN because, honestly, my patience has officially run out. 😭 At least now I have a better idea of what this story is actually about, rather than constantly playing the guessing game and wondering whether I really want to keep watching.

Anyway… adios, amigos. 👋😂 I’m tapping out for good!!

Nothing to rave about, but it’s watchable enough to pass the time. ML’s way of solving cases reminded me of The Mentalist, the American TV series. Maybe it’s the way he pieces things together, reads the situation, and notices details that others might miss. His keen sense of smell also gives him an edge when it comes to solving cases.

Unfortunately, I found the second half quite boring, perhaps because by then, the cases started to feel less engaging, while the character storylines weren’t particularly interesting either.

I’m giving this a 7/10, which is probably the lowest average score I can give, mainly because I managed to finish it and I appreciate the effort that went into the drama. It wasn’t particularly memorable for me, but it was still watchable enough to make it to the end.

Great plot, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite capture me the way other investigative political period dramas do. I love political intrigue, but the internal power struggles in this one felt overly contrived and, at times, a little boring. I dropped it at episode 4, so I may not have gotten to experience the full suspense of how the power struggle unfolds.

The drama also has too much talking and spends a lot of time dragging things out and with very little action to keep me engaged. Maybe it gets better later on, but by episode 4, I just couldn’t stay interested.

This drama feels SO familiar—it’s basically the same story as the vertical C-drama 《凤刃》 (Feng Ren), starring Yu Yin 余茵 as Qi Yuan and Zhang Hongming 张洪鸣 as Xiao Yunting. 😭

Same story, same vibes, just adapted into a vertical format with a few tweaks here and there. 😂 They’re both adaptations of the same original novel, 《凤池生春》.

Nosy FL really kills the vibe for me… I just can’t stand the kind of nosiness that completely ignores boundaries. Not my cup of tea at all. 😭 Sadly, I really wanted to watch Yang Yang’s latest drama, but even the rating doesn’t do it any justice—it’s basically just above average. 🤷‍♀️

This ML seriously has nothing else to do... lol. Every time FL’s in-laws start causing trouble, he magically shows up right on time. 😂 And the 2ML? He’s so indecisive...He keeps asking his mother what he should do next... 🤣🤣

Watched for the first 6 of the drama... i couldnt bring myself to finish it.. just not for me.. Realistically speaking, I understand FL. She’s just a normal person who accidentally transmigrated into the book, and because she didn’t properly read the novel, her way of solving the mystery was understandably not that sharp. I don’t expect her to be a Mary Sue, but honestly, FL still bores me.

It’s fine. Nothing too exciting happened—like fried chicken that’s perfectly edible but not exactly something you’d rave about. 😅 I did enjoy the action and comedy here and there, though, and those were probably what kept me watching.

I just wish the drama had put more focus on ML’s search for his daughter. Almost every episode goes into someone’s backstory—not just the villains, but the leads too. I get that they’re trying to build the characters, but sometimes it felt like they were spending too much time on it when I was just waiting to see ML get closer to finding his daughter. If they had trimmed down some of the backstories, I think the story would’ve been much more focused and moved along better.

Once they found ML’s daughter, the story shifted more towards the political side, and that made me a little less interested. I was more invested in the whole search for his daughter, so the political stuff didn’t really grab me as much. Still, there were enough action and funny moments to keep me going.

And poor ML really couldn’t catch a break. The man just wants to live peacefully with his daughter, but somehow he has a million targets on his back and nobody seems willing to leave him alone. I guess once you’re a spy, you can forget about having a normal life. Poor ML. 😂

I have to say, I really hated Mole Cricket and Ju Gang Chan. Both were damn annoying and evil, but the actors did such a good job playing them that I genuinely couldn’t stand either character. I honestly thought Ju Gang Chan’s part would be over by episode 7, but nope… somehow he kept showing up and dragging his storyline all the way to the end. That’s when you know the actor really did his job.

Plot Summary
