yeah, I think that's the effect of consuming media that actively works on portraying everything as black & white or good & evil. JC's character is so heartbreakingly realistic and the choices he made...any one of us would have done the same had we been in his shoes.

Hm I did pause at that scene as I could not quite grasp what was happening at that time. I have read about the importance of wwx wearing hanfu robes that way and I am no longer surprised at the amount of foreshadowing that is present in cql. It's just brilliant. However, what I did not understand about that scene was whether wwx was "dreaming" or had he really been like that during his time in the burial mounds?

i definitely think those people need to a) rewatch the show because so many things fall into perspective after the reveal that jc also sacrificed for wwx and b) read a LOT of metas xD

yeah, i also think it'd be lsz. I was just wondering if there was some blood relation thing involved. I think lan wangji has not officially adopted him as their son but he is undoubtedly a Lan and would make a fantastic sect leader imo. I am just imagining proud parents wangxian watching lsz be an exemplary leader

Personally, I would go with the idea that it's made of something strong like the jade, as you mentioned, because something about "xianxia logic" doesn't sit right with me. wwx legit stopped attacks from the sharp and deadly weapons of the undead army with his flute and no normal bamboo or the like would have been able to take that hit. That's just my opinion though.

Hmm I always thought he used some sort of metal (like yin metal) to create chenqing because there's no way a mere bamboo flute would have held up against those giant swords against which wwx was defending himself using chenqing lmao
