Title The Untamed Spoiler
See, I like this. It makes more sense on why Lan Zhan said he deserves to be Wei Ying.
yeah, I am surprised as to how, even after more than a year, we are discovering new things about the show haha

yeah it's fascinating that even though mxtx might not have intended for the names to fit the characters so perfectly, it ended up being like that anyway. I love how poetic this is!

Thank you for giving me this opportunity to rant about this... Y'all don't know how disturbed I was by this translation…
hm, you make perfect sense so don't worry about it. I can see how it could have been hard for people to understand the nuances behind it so thank you for clarifying. I, however, knew from the very first time I heard that line that lwj was referring to wwx being worthy of the name "wei ying".

yeah, I think that's the effect of consuming media that actively works on portraying everything as black & white or good & evil. JC's character is so heartbreakingly realistic and the choices he made...any one of us would have done the same had we been in his shoes.

Just curious to know if anyone else noticed how WWX's hanfu robes foreshadowed his "death" in episode 19. During…
Hm I did pause at that scene as I could not quite grasp what was happening at that time. I have read about the importance of wwx wearing hanfu robes that way and I am no longer surprised at the amount of foreshadowing that is present in cql. It's just brilliant. However, what I did not understand about that scene was whether wwx was "dreaming" or had he really been like that during his time in the burial mounds?

i definitely think those people need to a) rewatch the show because so many things fall into perspective after the reveal that jc also sacrificed for wwx and b) read a LOT of metas xD

yeah he is one of the few characters in whom i cannot find any grey areas. it's all black

yeah, almost everyone he loved died :((
they really have been through a lot and JC is the most pitiful of them all

well we have already established how shitty the parents of cql were. even if we chalk some of wen chao's antics to him receiving bad parenting, i still think he was an awful human regardless.
ohmygod his death in the novel was so gory!! (lowkey loved it)

I personally feel it'll be Lan Shizui. Even though he was a Wen, he has the characteristics of a Lan who can carry…
yeah, i also think it'd be lsz. I was just wondering if there was some blood relation thing involved. I think lan wangji has not officially adopted him as their son but he is undoubtedly a Lan and would make a fantastic sect leader imo. I am just imagining proud parents wangxian watching lsz be an exemplary leader

yeah, and best of all they convinced everyone that wangxian were in love without actually employing any of the overused romantic gestures

Personally, I would go with the idea that it's made of something strong like the jade, as you mentioned, because something about "xianxia logic" doesn't sit right with me. wwx legit stopped attacks from the sharp and deadly weapons of the undead army with his flute and no normal bamboo or the like would have been able to take that hit. That's just my opinion though.

Hmm I always thought he used some sort of metal (like yin metal) to create chenqing because there's no way a mere bamboo flute would have held up against those giant swords against which wwx was defending himself using chenqing lmao
