Who do you think is going to be the next Lan sect leader? Would it be Lan Shizui or if LXC happened to father a child, would that position go to that child then? Or could it be Lan Jingyi? I don't remember if there was any mention of it in the novel
Another reason why I think CQL elevated MDZS: the relationship between WangXian. CQL managed to show how pure…
Also, i know it's because of the censorship that they weren't allowed to be physically intimate and I know this is not a direct representation (especially if we keep the content of novel in mind) but just imagine being an asexual person and seeing a romantic relationship being depicted in a way that does not require sexual touches and how validating it must have been for them. That it's possible to love someone romantically without having the sexual aspect be involved in it. I have had my asexual friends tell me that even if cql!wangxian aren't asexual themselves, the show made them feel extremely validated and i think that's beautiful.
exactly! even thinking about it pains me so much. wwx, freshly core-less, gets thrown into a place from where no body expected him to come back alive, and then he goes on to not only survive but also manages to become a super-powerful necromancer. wen chao's greatest mistake was to throw a genius like wwx into burial mounds. he would have died less painfully otherwise lmao. but yep, wwx was so traumatized and his mental health was in shambles. it's a surprise he managed to hold on for as long as he did.
Good question that no one knows the answer to! Although I have to point out that all three characters that you…
Oh yeah well said! But I think he used the yin sword to create his flute, right? So the materials thing is not really an issue but yeah a flute could be seen as one of the easier instruments to make. I do like the idea of him using music to control the puppets because he was inspired from those two incidents. It just concludes to brilliant foreshadowing and makes the plot more cohesive.
i think he did right by himself. It took him a lot of time to let go of what he had been taught his entire life and make up "rules" of his own but he did exhibit astounding growth during that entire process. in the end, he and wei wuxian finally got the happiness that they both deserved<3
yeah and that's why i think he has gone through the best character development out of all the characters. he went from reciting rules that were tattooed on his mind to breaking almost all of them for what HE believed was right. i really just love him so so much :(
yep! also the fact that lwj is his own person and a damn awesome one at that. Grieving over wwx was an integral part of him, yes, but I don't think he spent every waking hour thinking about it for those 13/16 years. He was wwx's soulmate but he was also Hanguang-jun and I think he played both of those roles perfectly without letting one overshadow the other.
Good question that no one knows the answer to! Although I have to point out that all three characters that you…
Yes, I know the are different instruments but they are also very similar. It wouldn't be too far fetched to assume that wei wuxian took inspiration from those events
Honestly, I don't think lwj "expected" him to come back. Nor do I think lwj "waited" for him to return to life. I think the reason lwj would have played inquiry, as the OP mentioned, is to just make sure if wwx was at peace wherever he was.
Just sharing a lighthearted moment between the Twin Prides to balance the feels from your post...https://mikes-wheelers.tumblr.com/post/619745527433773056/peak-dumbass-sibling-culture
Hahaha the comedic elements in cql are so well done!
i don't know if this has been discussed before but i think the reason why wei wuxian choose a flute as his weapon is because a) he saw lxc control the yin iron using his flute and b) he also heard wen qing control the zombies by playing her flute. So, no wonder wwx went for chenqing. This show just...*chef's kiss*
but yep, wwx was so traumatized and his mental health was in shambles. it's a surprise he managed to hold on for as long as he did.
