yeah, there's lots of theories on how wwx survived those 3 months in burial mounds but the author never really explained it saying that whatever happened to wwx was too painful for her to pen down (and this coming from the woman who wrote yi city arc) so you can let your imagination run wild.

i don't know where jiggy hid NMJ's head but it was NHS who retrieved it from his hiding place and stitched his body together. Then at the temple, NHS got to jiggy's mother's body first and replaced it with NMJ's body.

I think the author of the novel herself mentioned that NHS ends up taking the chief cultivator position so it's more or less canon in the book. In the show, however, yes LXC might end up taking the chief cultivator position but that'll only be possible after he comes out of his seclusion and nobody knows how long that will take. Nobody is going to make JC a chief cultivator and I don't think he himself would agree to it. Jin Ling is too young so the next best option, after lwj, is definitely nhs. And yes, wangxian know that nhs cannot be trusted but they also know that he does not have malicious intent AND he is intelligent enough to solve whatever problems arise and is also respected enough by his clan for them to do what he asks. I just think that cql!wangxian might not be that opposed to the idea of nhs being the chief cultivator.

Yeah, NMJ part is a bit iffy but I think it makes sense. He never really disliked wwx, quite the opposite and he's do anything for his baby bro so it's not totally far fetched that he's help nhs hide wwx's body. God I want cql remake from nhs point of view lmao

I just wanna say that wwx is a fucking genius with psychic abilities because my boy managed to create magic (sacrificial curse) so powerful that it inadvertently led to him being brought back to life like...wow

in the novel, wwx's body was thoroughly destroyed, shattered into pieces so there was no way of recovering it.

I think novel nhs and drama nhs are more or less the same level of crafty lol
As for the position of Chief Cultivator, in the drama, I am pretty sure lwj himself would give hat position to nhs after wwx returns to him and nhs would regret the day his scheming was revealed to lwj cause now lwj thinks of nhs as someone capable and that's probably the last thing nhs wants xP nhs still would excel at being a chief cultivator though haha

Yep, that's what is precisely bugging me. It seems that no one has a clear answer and we are all theorising here so, for my peace of mind, I will just believe in the theory that they(yanli/JC/lxc/lwj) did not bother to get a doctor for wwx because they trusted lwj could help him recover.

I think them not saying that wwx was brought back to life is because of censorship laws so they had to work around it.
even if mxy's "spiritual" consciouness was used as a price to pay for wwx's return, I wonder what happened to mxy's "physical" body then. Did it also get destroyed?

i just rewatched that episode where wwx's identity gets revealed yesterday and they said that a sacrificial curse was used by mxy that "uses a person's full spiritual consciousness as the price to heal an extremely injured person". The implication is that mxy sacrificed himself to heal wwx's injuries and revive him.

I haven't read that theory anywhere but it could be possible.

Also, due to chinese censorship, they can't actually say that a person was brought back to life after having died. That's why the "heavily injured" thing. It's also notable that nobody found wwx's body after he jumped off the cliff. One theory is that nhs took his body and hid it in the nie grave chamber to fend off the resentful energy. Not sure how much weight that theory has though.

wow yes, another thing i want to add is that JC was very well aware of wwx's fear of dogs but he never, not once, used that against him (when others were present). He could have easily told other sect leaders that wwx was shit scared of dogs and wwx would have been done for, but he didn't, because despite everything that had happened, JC still loved his big brother very much T.T
