Yang Mi is extremely popular in Asia as shown by her wealth and star power even though her acting is not to everyone’s…
Thanks and I already know all of this. I just don't understand why people like her so much. There are other actresses who are more talented and beautiful and not as hyped. And regarding her having her own studio, most senior actors do and she gets help from professionals so not sure all the credit goes to her. I personally never watched a drama because of her and have always appreciated her male leads not because of her. She is the product of pure media play.
I have really tried to understand the hype around Yang Mi and how did she manage to get so famous, but I don't. She is so disappointing and underwhelming in all her dramas (even TMPB which was clearly Mark Chao's drama). I can't connect to her character and acting here either.
Although the plot and the amnesia are cliche, I think the high rating is deserved as there are simply not many modern dramas like this one anymore. It seems that big production companies are investing in historical/fantasy love stories and so watching such a classic romance drama with exceptional chemistry is great. The acting is not necessarily mind blowing but what works here is the chemistry. It is similar to the Korean drama Secret - that type of grown up, real and raw love with lots of sexual tension. And a HAPPY ENDING! Must watch for the lovers of grown up romance.
Ahh. This drama. You either love it or you hate it. Me? I adore it. Terribly so. All the more for how difficult…
It was the first time I got so involved in a drama and its characters. All of them were so likeable and wrong at the same time. And the chemistry between all of them was out of this world. The other drama that got me feeling this way was Innocent Man
Thank you, this comment saved me from losing a lot of time. After the first episode I had a feeling, this drama…
I am like you but I promise you that it is worth it and it ends well, with a very strong and heartwarming life lesson. It will leave you so satisfied and feeling good that you won't mind the emotional ride.
What I liked was the fact that the male lead changed his attitude toward the meaning of relationship because of…
Yes and I think the way Eric acted helped make his anti hero/jerk persona relatable and heartwarming. I love the fact that no one is either innocent or bad. They are all somehow broken and have their own individual issues. And yes, the ending was so realistic and unusual for a drama. Loved it
This drama shows that a big budget and good looking actors don't mean a thing if not for the couple's chemistry. I had really low expectations but was blown away by how fuzzy their relationship made me feel. It felt real and soooo good. I completely disregarded the crappy quality and cliche plot. One of those dramas that really makes you want to fall in love NOW.
There's no way these high profile actors would sign up for 18 eps x 3 seasons. Pretty sure it's 18 eps in total…
He's been a highly bankable actor for years (all his dramas have been hits since 2010) so production companies would definitely splash on him as they know brand SJK will attract viewers no matter what. Production companies make lots of money selling the dramas abroad (again, having an actor like SJK guarantees the highest prices since he is famous in Asia). They probably made tonnes of money with their Netflix deal.
how big did song joong ki get after descendants? im seeing people in the comments saying he's high profile and…
SJK exploded with DOTS (I mean, do you not remember the craze in Korea and the whole Asia?) but he's been Korea's blue eyed boy since 2010. Most people tend to forget this but he was literally everywhere in entertainment because of Running Man and his dramas, plus he has always been one of the most sought after brand models. He is now the most expensive actor and brand model in Korea and still super popular in China. This is how big he is.
He is faking it with the other girl. He is not in love; he is using her to survive. If he didn’t play palace…
Her father is a general so he must have military power. Also, he wanted to avenge her mother since her family played a part in her demise so I guess it is best to keep your enemy close in order to strike better.

Yup exactly! And even if she didn’t love him he pushed her to him and made everything possible because she was so naïve and pure. I guess they needed to add another love interest to justify his jealousy and the angst.
I want a tragic ending where both of them die and a HE in which they just left behind everything to start over…
YES! I would start by watching the original ending and cry 10 litres of tears and then satisfy my greed my watching the HE before rewatching their couple moments. I don’t think she should die alone and sacrifice herself after all the suffering; that’s just too cruel for someone so kind. She deserves love even if it is with him.
Someone here mentioned it a few days ago and I’ve just seen it on Twitter. The Director has apparently confirmed that they are working on an alternative ending so that both the book martyrs and love fools can get what they want. Don’t quote me on it but I’ve seen several posts now and it has apparently been commissioned by Youku (probably because they realised how successful the drama is). Don’t care if you all judge me; I am team HE!! Lol
