I'm here after glory. My standards are" The Glory" level. so I am disappointed
I just finished watching Glory and I loved it. And now I just started this, and I'm loving this too. To me it's because the genres for these two dramas are totally different, which also leads to emoting a different type of acting. And both are quite alright in their respective places.
There are dramas I've loved with acting and overall production standards higher than Glory and there are dramas I've enjoyed and I still do, with a lower quality of production and/or acting, simply because different genre's require differences in acting and production to be appreciated and enjoyed.
I don't think it makes sense holding every series or drama to a certain set standards; in fact it kind of ruins the viewing experience.
i think her point was that she didn't want to cause true suffering to innocent people. even though he and his…
I partially disagree because Do young was actually an innocent bystander who played no part in Dong eun's suffering, in fact, he was quite clueless regarding the entire situation, up until quite late in the series.
So if it was any other man, and his life was completely topsy-turvived, his personal marriage life secrets spilled out onto national television, his family ruined to the extent where he had to go into exile to avoid shame and scandal, I and anyone else for that matter would consider this as hurting an innocent man.
The reason Do young didn't feel that way, that Dong eun hadn't hurt an innocent man and his child is because he (and therefore us too as an audience) understood where she stood, and in his own way he cheered for her to win as well. Which was his own magnanimity, given that he held so much power, money, fame, and every other advantage over her.
A possible explanation: She didn't won't to involve innocent people, people who didn't inflict pain on her, who…
Possible, but she was ready to show mercy to Yeonjin, simply because Do young respected her home by opening his shoes. So I don't think she ever really considered him her opponent. She wanted to hurt Yesol's mom, knowing Yesol would get hurt afterward and hence the preemptive apology, but it was never the other way round, of hurting Yesol to get to the child's parents; not because Do eun cared for Yeonjin but most likely it was simply because of the face value of her words that she respected Do young enough not to hurt his child.
And the meaning behind it, whether romantic or business is up to personal interpretation I guess...
I said it before and I stand by what I said : Doyoung can never EVER be, even half of what Yeo Jung is to Dong…
I'm just gonna express my opinion here, which you are totally at liberty to disagree with, and we can absolutely agree to disagree!! I am in 100% agreement with your last sentence, and all I want to add to that is At Least Do young and Dong eun had chemistry LOL, (which isn't true for all pairings) even if not barely any screen time when he isn't even the second lead; a rare feat indeed!
Now coming to Do young's loyalty to Dong eun and her trauma and her revenge plan, which you have called into question. Firstly, he was a married man, in a marriage for several years with a young daughter. Any steps that he took, even after learning about his wife and his child's teacher and their shared history, I feel he acted to the best of his ability. In any real-life situation too, I think it's realistic to choose your family over a stranger even if your family means being duped and married to a psychopath. Of course, he is not going to jump into bringing Dong eun's revenge plan to fruition at the first minute, when he just about only learned about her pain, her plan, and how she actually played him too... While at the same time, he respected Dong Eun from the beginning, (in fact, I feel he was the first person to respect her and open his shoes outside her home, something her own mother or anyone ever bothered doing and that's why SHE WAS READY TO EVEN SHOW HER BULLY, YEONJIN, SOME LENIENCY).
He could have reacted to being played, to being manipulated by Dong Eun, to ruin his image, his fake but high-profile family, but it never even occurred to him to do that. Being married for so many years, even with as many red flags as Yeonjin had, I do feel he must have felt some amount of love or responsibility or something like that towards the mother of his child (not really his, but you know) so I don't think it's alright to expect him to agree, right away, to jump ship and actively start helping Dong eun. He understood her, he wanted her to win, he was attracted to her but not in a toxic way, he respected her, and never, not once did he pity her, although I did feel his heartbreak a little the first time he saw her scars.
And at the end, I don't think Do Eun truly needs a man to be her best self, she is amazing by herself, and anyone she is with, is lucky to have her. But Do young is tough competition and no wonder even Yeo Jung felt threatened when he heard Do young had filed for divorce and was back on the singles market!
Isn't it crazy how Do young, even after he found out Dong eun's entire history and her whole elaborate revenge plot (where HE was a central pawn) and that she was ALSO his daughter's elementary classroom teacher, never once did he fear that Dong eun would hurt Yesol; when he was/is so fiercely protective of his daughter (who, as he learned wasn't biologically even his).
And when he asked her why she never hurt Yesol, Dong eun's answer was equally so soft and so revealing at the same time. The ONLY reason she never considered hurting Yesol, was because she knew that it would hurt Do Young too!
I give up, how do I not ship these two, after they say such sentimental shit to each other!! Come on!!
So true! If i were writer, i would make Ha Do Young head to toe obsessed with Dong-Eun. Because Yeonjin always…
Ahh, that is an interesting take, because really all three bullying victims somehow one way or another had caught Jae Jun's eye. And Jae Jun also when bullying Dong Eun seemed attracted sexually to her, as well. So yeah, it's totally possible that Yeonjin selected her victims, whom she felt inferior to, on the basis of her perceived sex appeal to the man she wanted/wants! And in fact, she accused her husband, Do Young of cheating on her just simply because he met with Dong Eun. It is very plausible that she felt insecure about Dong-Eun, in high school, and infinitely more when her husband literally said, "I liked being cornered by her"!
I genuinely would have preferred if Dong eun and Do young ended up together!!
in a parallel universe, dong eun and do-young are endgame. Even if I've to write a fanfic for it with no one to read! I mean kinda seriously though the romance between dong eun and yeo jung felt out of place, while on the other hand, there was some serious underlying subtle affection-that-can-turn-romantic situation typa thing going on between dong eun and do young. I don't wanna be spoilery and get into detailed interpretations of their scenes, so I'm just gonna stop here!! But also this line: "I want to feel so satisfied and happy, that I will actually want to die." is my favorite line from this series.
I guess I'll just say it, to those *cough cough* who are super curious to know why I stuck so long with this. Drumroll please cause here it is!!!
I was here solely for Perth's eyes and his acting masterclass cause he made every one of those 5mins screentime/episode worthwhile for the entire series. The other self indulgent reason was simply see how derailed of a series this can become!!! Inner masochist crying in joy LMAO.
And those hollering still for MY approval (I feel so flattered honestly) to appreciate this masterpiece of a drama, here I'll bless you all: I hope ya'll watch this amazeballs of a series, everyday for the rest of you lives!! XOXO
I'm always surprised by clowns who will watch an entire series they claim they won't enjoy. Is it the dopamine…
AHH!! Thank you for such wise words of wisdom!! And spending so much time to enlighten me on what to do with my life choices!! Thank you dear adult, for this advice, where would I be without you!!
Hope you watch this series everyday, for the rest of your life 💖💖💖
On the day of the final episode, all I wanna say is I wish they named this series, "Please Let Me Just Go" or "I Really Wanna Go" or even "Let's Just Not Go"... I feel it would have done the series more justice than the name NLMG.

Can't say the same for the dentist, even with the kiss.
