I wasn’t planning on watching it since I don’t really like law dramas, but I did and I’m happily surprised…
She broke up with him with such class! silent insults are the best haha

I was never fan of both leads but the drama is interesting and i want to see more about their work life i hope…
I don’t particularly care if there is romance or not, as long as it’s not forced (so far the characters are strong and interesting so it can go either way). What I do care and hope for is the overall focus to be on episode cases and not some major conspiracy. I really enjoyed the cases in the 2 first episode and the take (though for the first one I felt they had to dumb everyone down to make the leading lady shine) so I want to continue seeing that! It was a relaxing watch so I hope it continues this way

Cause it felt killing those people was not enough they deserved to feel pain pain
That wasn’t my issue, it’s with the way it was revealed rather than the revelation itself

So up to episode 9, this was a 9/10 drama for me. Not perfect but lots of fun following the characters as they uncover the mystery. Then episode 10 arrived and the whole drama became something different. I think the reveal of who the one they were chasing makes sense but the way it was shown just brought the drama down, took out any sense of thrill it had.

I loved the leads and how their relationship turned as the story went on. They each have their quirks, and sometimes it makes them work better together, other times it works against them.

As far as acting, actions, intensity, even character growth during the limited time, this movie excels. I loved the acting as well, casting was perfect. But the motivation for this whole terror act felt… so… weak!

… meh
An especially disappointing all over the place last episode though the drama itself was entertaining

As far as directing, setting, music, even acting, this drama deserves a higher rating. But the degree the writing fails for me makes it not deserving anything more. At least not from me. As of episode 6, this drama just kept me pissed off the whole time I was watching. I wasn’t entertained at all and hated every minute.

Not sure if my romanticlessness is to blame, but I can’t turn off my brain for the sake of “fated lovers”.

Waste of time and potential.

Title Beyond Goodbye Spoiler
Wife showed such honest reaction to everything happening and she was the best and the most tragic character. I’m…
I really hate Saeko’s reaction to the wife. Disgusting and entitled behaviour. Did she ever try to live and support a sick family member who could die any moment? She never tried to see passed her own pain

Review Beyond Goodbye Spoiler
of course a story doesn’t need to be full of perfect characters to be enjoyed but the moral compass of this…
And Saeko’s reaction when faced with her actions made it even worse. While I wasn’t liking how things were going in the drama, I liked her character and the strength she showed to move on but that moment on episode 6 at the train station was a 180 for me. I hated her and hoped she gets the worst ending. So entitled!

Also I find Naruse repeating all the things Yusuke icky. It would have been nicer if the writing was more creative and maybe changed the dialog while giving a similar meaning.

I disagree, Saeko is the arrogant one. Miki has every right to protect her family. Yes Saeko suffered but she’s not the only one who suffers. How is that fair that Miki puts up with taking care of her sick husband, only to have her feelings ignored when he’s healthy. And Saeko thinks she’s entitled to him? Wth

Btw the concept of having memories attached to heart transplant is complete fantasy, but even if we are to believe it, Naruse and Saeko would never be happy together. She’s looking for a replacement and never looked at him as him. That is also selfish. He’s also just chasing his desires without thinking of consequences.

Miki isn’t evil for not wanting to know about the heart owner. She did that for her own peace of mind. There’s a reason why those things should be held confidential. It becomes difficult to move on when it doesn’t. She was the most supportive yet got the least amount of appreciation

Can’t complain about the acting, the setting, directing and all that comes with it, but OMG I don’t think I hated a story and its characters this much that a mere 7 episodes drama took me months to finish.
I didn’t find any of the characters likeable but I mainly hated the oldest and youngest sister. The youngest did get a somewhat redemption in the end, but the oldest just kept being a selfish disgusting human to the end.

I did like the interactions between sisters, their fights and jealousy, their good times and bickering, it feels authentic. I’m just not sure what this drama is trying to say

And wth with Uchino Seiko taking on the most basic rookie role?

I watched the Yamapi version and I must say that I enjoy Hirano's acting much much more - he reminded me of another…
I was a yamapi fangirl even if I like to pretend I wasn’t, but I had to acknowledge early on that his acting skills are non existent, and won’t ever get better.

I had a similar thought to Yamamoto Koji lol
But honestly he’s a much more skilled actor than his wife

Distinct enough from the 2006 version so watching isn’t a repeat of the story. We never got a case of Akasagi (red swindler). Like the previous version, an unlikely setting but the story, casting, performance, and even directing, is all much better. Except for Kashina’s character, I found the 2006 casting was much more fitting.

I found Kurasaki’s relationship with Yoshikawa’s dad the most endearing.

Such a well written review that is entertaining to read!

I think that’s how it has been with most kdrama where it has an interesting premise coming from a unique idea, only to devolve into the same storyline like trying to forcibly fit a mold. It sucks that all those dramas could’ve been something unique and memorable but opt for generic

it does not matter to those like me who only watch J-Dramas because of time and interest, but from looking at…
Been subconsciously doing that for years lol
And to be honest I find jdoramas can be rated fairly, it’s kdramas that are rated too high for their value. Recently I see that chinese dramas, especially fantasy/historical ones are also rated too high

Unlike the original, this is hard to get into. I'm not sure if it's because the original was good compared to…
I just watched this version and been rewatching the old one… yes the frauds are at least lame lol
The interesting thing is that though it has the same premise, none of the cases are repeated from the previous version. That being said, it’s hard to believe anyone falling for either Kurosagis’ schemes in reality.

Also the 2006 story start moody but becomes silly as the drama goes on, while this version starts light but gets darker half way.

The acting here is a lot better

I’m also from that era and Kurasagi was one of very early dramas I watched, and had watched most of Yamapi’s work since. That being said there was always a lot of unsettling things about the early version.

Now what I did is watch this version and rewatched the 2006 version at the same time because I barely remember, and I find they did so much better with the characters and stories. The leads here are also more talented, older with more experience. The only character I prefer from the older version is Kashina. I think older Kashina makes more sense in trying to catch Kurosaki, and also it felt less personal and just to uphold his profession. In this version it felt more of an obsession. That being said, I still appreciate the growth in character and his connection to Yoshikawa.

And.. Thank you.. Glad you liked my review..
I found the premise interesting but I kinda dropped my expectations at around episode 1-2 when the FL tried to escape and her and ML ended up in that desert. The whole thing was needless and I couldn’t get over the way it happened. I mean here you are leading a whole army yet you can’t have anyone guard her you have to do it yourself?

I enjoyed your review more than the drama. I find a lot of your comments mirror the inner monologues I had in mind as I rolled my eyes at the male lead’s getting stabbed or shot at lol
