This is one of the dramas this fall my husband and I picked to watch together. We haven't watched the Japanese version so the story is fresh for us. Your article details all of the reasons we have watched and continued to watch this drama. The intrigue for me is the dislike I have developed for so many of the characters. Love is blind but everyone seems to be in the pitch black dark about the character flaws of their partners. The acting is off the charts exceptional and the mystery and guessing the outcome is what drives each weeks' obsession to return to this story. Can't wait for the suspense and story to unravel and answer so many questions. Thank you for your article - good to know I'm not alone in some of my thoughts and feelings.

I'm very happy about the news. So disappointed with DramaFever's sudden shutdown. I was an annual member and I'm…
They prorated my account and I got a refund last month. I am also disappointed about DF. Excited for new streaming media - price seems right if limited content.

My husband loves this drama -- I am afraid of my shadow so I couldn't watch it with him but he raves about how innovative and commendable for a drama to be creative and original. Good job writers and directors - from hubbie.

Those who cannot forgive others break the bridge over which they themselves must pass. Confucious. I am really amazed at the amount of "slamming" and "condemnation" that is in some of these comments. Raised to know that there is no one that is free of sin except Christ. It is our responsibility to not beat down a person that has already been beaten down and humiliated. News this morning - our President's rich son-in-law hasn't paid taxes in years. We idolized and put actors and actresses on pedestals then we are often quick to retreat instead of support. We are all humans and will make mistakes -- give her a break and send her some love.

Lol, I’m just gonna say this: say you are rich, you hire a famous accountant to do your work for you. And you…
I am personally not bothered -- I really don't know much about Fan Bing Bing other than the article and the CBS story that she has appeared in some American movies. However, as a young woman - her disappearance and then a sudden appearance with a confession and huge fine almost seems political and punitive and to me SCARY! Does she have any rights? If it had happened to me without due process I would have probably confessed [seems like a storyline from a historical drama].

You know more details of her confessed tax fraud than I am aware of from this article. I haven't researched all of the published facts. Behavior that leads you down that slippery slope of ruin and degradation usually isn't about money and when it is - you usually get slapped financially. A major star of her established reputation seems to have been "ruined beyond repair". Maybe fans will be forgiving in the long term.

Who manages the financial "ins and outs" personally when your skill is not accounting but acting? I'm sure her management company and financial consultants have a heavy hand in creating this debacle for her. People with lots of money typically hire experts to manage their monies and in her case, the experts probably used her as a front to pocket lots of money -- and she gets to take the public and humiliating fall. Many movie stars have become megastars and she is being made a public example of for all to be warned - pay your taxes or else.
Hopefully, her career continues -- even if its only in the West. The experience must have been scary for her and hopefully, she can get back on track after paying the fines. Tax evasion and tax avoidance is a fine line in the U. S. and many wealthy people have accumulated untold wealth with "avoidance."

Just finished. My emotions are all over the place. When you watch historical dramas you sometimes miss the essence of the struggles individuals go through. The reality of incidents and atrocities committed in the past to form their "more perfect union." This drama did that for me -- started out slow - but finished strongly. Definitely a must see and one of the best for 2018.

I was getting ready to comment essentially the same thing. A very good romantic drama and acting is exceptional.

This is definitely a drama to watch. I have already cried like a baby twice. The strength of the characters is significant, the costumes and scenery and excellent, the writers did a great job weaving a story that supports a strong yet vulnerable female lead. I found it on YouTube but was dissatisfied with the translations. Searched everywhere for a good translation and finally found out it was translated on Amazon Prime -- woohoo!! After Ashes of Love - this is my number 2 drama (haven't seen ending so this may change).

I just started marathoning this drama 1 week ago. I had virtually given up daily dramas because of the lack of substance and repetitive and predictable scenes. However, I am 63 episodes into this drama and have enjoyed most of the writers' storytelling pace and substantive content. This is primarily a drama about women - birth, surrogacy, artificial insemination, miscarriage and relationships. It has some mature topics and the lead actors and actresses are all mature and competent in their roles. The secondary subject is "men" - old,, mean, young, supportive, incompetent, you name it - there is a character in this drama that fits all prototypes. I only have one bone to pick -- I really don't like Lee In Hye in this role -- she is a dry actress- her facial expressions rarely change and do not fit many scenes. Alex is the exception - he is carrying this entire drama with his charisma and excellent acting for each scene. He should be in more dramas -- a really sexy mature man.

I hate to keep adding things but when I put my CPAP mask on last night to deal with my sleep apnea I thought about all the times critically ill and IU patients had these things on their face as medical treatment with no medical support -- even heartbeat or pressure machines are missing. When people snatch out their syringes that are the only life support and run out of the hospital I always say "really -- not in a lifetime"

Finally, the end. Nothing special but a good family drama. A typical situational story that has a typical ending. However, it was entertaining because the actors and actresses were well matched in the roles and the casting.

In critical scenes - e.g. major accidents, or physical attacks on individuals, , bystanders never call 911 or police right away. standing around gawking or even ignoring the incident. As well as empty streets when there is no way there would be foot traffic or other cars passing by.

Title Sweet Dreams
Enjoyable and cute. Light comedy with some serious scenes injected but good character development. Perfect parents made this drama even more entertaining. Only one complaint. The writer and director failed to carry the dream sequences throughout and as a viewer it was the transitioning dreams which made the drama unique. Without the continuity of dreams, there was a void, which made the drama falter a little. 48 episodes is a lot -- but I don't regret watching until the end.

On My Story for You Aug 13, 2018
A beautiful self reflection and biography of friends that is very deliberate and slow but effective in story telling. I love the premise, but at some point I began to feel like a peeping tom looking at his life's journey. From young adult to mature middle aged men the progression of growth and experiences in their lives was a worthy topic. My only complaint - it was really a long journey for the viewer. Finally, it ends - an enjoyable, yet stress free journey. The book must have been a best seller for the adaptation to be made into a 48 episode drama. 24 episodes would have been more apropos.

I didn't make it to episode 2... should i attempt it again?
I abandoned it initially -- definitely give it a second try and at least go to episode 6 before considering dropping. It really is an excellent drama and the acting is excellent.

After the first three or four episodes I dropped it, but the high ratings and its ready availability on DF led me to take a second look at this drama. The initial writer characterizations of the female lead made me turn away, but thankfully (as in all Kdramas) there is a redemption period that moves this drama along. I am in total agreement with your assessment of this drama. It is hard to comment without revealing spoilers but the uniqueness and the acting of Seo Kang Joon has totally blown me away. He is extremely talented and it really worth praising in this drama.

Just watch it - the emotions are overwhelming and character development is excellent. This should be an award winning drama. An exceptional job by director and playwriter to maintain a consistency of storyline development from week to week. A unique and moving experience for me as a viewer and recommend it highly.
