Yes, I liked this, was not expecting to be "this type of story" when I picked it at random to watch. This and also Jung Da Eun's face.

It's an annual series of one episode stories.

"Terminal Illness" is still there. But it's good, actually, for those how will look the tags.
I wanted to see a story with disabled characters, not the same "oh, she is going to die, oh the tragedy". But even considering this this story and romance was so bland.

Oh yes, I didn't see the tags, I didn't wanted to watch a story with this trope but now it's too late to drop it.

After thinking a bit, It seems that her skin was also this bright in recent movies. This not specific to this drama.

May I ask something? I was noticing while watching this. Maybe it's in part because of the color grading, but even so, isn't Hana's skin much lighter now than what it was during her teens? Is she just exposing herself less to the Sun or she did some skin care treatment?

Didn't watched this one, but sometimes I think about this. I get the impression that most of these tokyo dramas are filmed in the same neighborhoods.

Watched the first episode and while I definitively needs to watch more to achieve a clear conclusion I can see that I can see what the OP means. This series seems to be thought with "defending the status quo", an status quo that idealizes putting work ahead of your life and happeniness, to actually make work your life and happiness.

Back in the day I used to complain a lot about how out of tune I'm with jdramas, always asking "is this really how japan and the japanese are, and think?". I still think the same I just complain a bit less these days. One of the causes of this personal anguish is that episodes never climax into what they looked to be building. In this episode the protagonist after messing so much in her work get to the conclusion that... she just needs to accept her work and work harder, and like it! Instead of being an upbeat conclusion to me it feels like a defeatist conclusion, because she herself explained to her co-workers how she never wanted to work there, how she had a job that she wanted to do but gave up, how she went along with things happening in her life expecting that everything would end well, how she depended on other people for all this to realize... instead of improving her attitude, instead of pursuing what she actually wanted to do... for herself... nope, she decides to go against her wishes to please everyone else at her work, because her work and the company that hires her is more important that her life.

It's easy to see how some people may dislike watching this.
For one side, sure, it may not be the job you want but you still have to work as long as you're employed and put some effort in doing your job well.
But at the same it's telling that this is the only option and answer, everything else is invalid and this isn't true. Your choices and actions only matter if you're slaving yourself "for the society" (fattening the pockets of your superiors)?

Things may change a bit in future episodes but I don't expect much improvement.
About Hana... her characters is interesting because her personality contrasts with the "cute" Hana we know. Her character may become very rude and aggressive suddenly.

Agree but it should be gone now, she is all grow up and missing from screens!

When you watch Junichi make sure to read the commends I wrong here on MDL! I ended with the impression that it was hugely misunderstood.
I didn't watched Ataru, but I may watch even if just to get mad... yes, because of the actress. I'm also watching Koi Desu (that it's cut, just cut but average and tropy). If you want more of Hana Sugisaki than you need to watch Idaten (without a doubt one of the best jdramas ever made).

Unfortunately I was not wrong when I wrote this two weeks ago.
Despite being very cute the writing it's just common place average, with some very old tropes that should had died long ago (I'm talking specially about disabilities, it's even worse because this drama have those "educational" segments. It should had made clear that companies don't "receive money from the government to look good", it's called a "subside" and this "integration" policy is good for both the disabled and able bodied citizens).
But it's my fault for having unrealistic expectations, don't let me spoil your enjoyment. Hana Sugisaki cuteness makes up for everything.

This is a must watch drama, they really went all out with this one.
The budget must be the biggest ever, really incredible in all aspects.
Better, it's also very good! Definitively a must watch.

I looked the original manga and... it's bad. This is one of those dramas that makes miracles with the source material, to a certain point. It's not because there's the bit of dissonance between Yukiko's side of the story and Morio's side. Morio is a bit caricate, half-anime, there are scenes where Hana's action just besides him looks like they're characters from two different series. But still, it's to make the series feels more "fun", as long as they're not exaggerate, ok.
Problem is the writing, judging from this episode 2 this will be an "average" series, not exceptional. This episode was very conventional, with he classic misunderstandings that shouldn't happen if the characters didn't apparently forgotten all the did, hear and experience to believe what some third person told them. Than we have the reconciliation after a feel days that excludes the cause of the misunderstanding.
I like Yukiko's character and was basing the quality of the writing on her, but after the date she got up from her bed and stead of stating how stupid she had reacted with Kurokawa she went to her sisters... a shame.
Still, good enough fun and now I'll stop making these comments because they're irrelevant.

This episode was perfect. By itself is just so funny, but this side story came just after Misono and her co-workers convinced their boss to keep the Rakkyoko campaign, it works like a future the renovated Rakkyoko short that they could do in the future.

I understand the convenience, but the quality on those sites is so garbage... I honestly don't understand how can they encode so badly.
People, just get he raws on any public tracker (like Nyaa) and the subtitles directly from D-Addicts (where you can talk and thank the translators).
