Yeah they definitely went heavy on camera tricks to mimic movement. Even though its quite well done its kind of disappointing they took short cuts like that. Oh well!

The emperor in TLB is Li Shimin, who was Prince Qin and then Taizong emperor. That’s who Li Ni is also supposed to be.

Yeah I think the writer was a bit unfair to her - they gave her all the flaws, heaped all their problems on her and made all her adventures end in a rescue. Li Shimin would turn in his grave to be depicted as such a namby pamby when it came to ambition for the throne. It was just as ridiculous as making his father that dumb. But Xu Kai is so easy on the eyes I would love to see him have a shot at a much more complex and controversial portrayal of Li Shimin.

Yeah I am keen to know more the FL's back story but I am not looking for much romance in this - these assasin wuxias tend to kill off main characters. I just hope they stick to espionage and murder and leave the baby makings to people who can live to a ripe old age.

This is a Linmon production, iQiyi does not make S+ budget dramas and does not own the rights to this drama. Linmon licensed the China rights to iQiyi and the international rights to VIU. iQiyi only has international rights in the few markets that VIU is not active in.

It’s an independent private studio that likes to make big expensive productions. They did Fuyao and Novoland Eagleflag. They sold the international rights to VIU. IQiyi only bought the China rights and got international markets VIU is not active in.

It worked so well in TLB, why not rehash it with a twist?!?😂

I just don't like the way the character is written but the actress is doing a decent job. She does pull off a cute boy quite believably.

Well she struck me as being reasonably smart and having a bit of backbone in the palace so I was kind of non-plussed at her sudden regression into a whiny brat.
