I’m honestly sure I’ve never seen a traditional Wuxia until now and this. Everything else has been tainted…
The traditional wuxias are Jin Yong, Gu Long and Liang Yusheng stories. They have been adapted to death and recent adaptations are not that great and tend to deviate from the original novels for the sake of being different. Handsome Siblings is a recent Gu Long wuxia that is quite well done. The First Sword of Wudang has very good fight scenes but I personally don’t like Liang Yusheng he writes too many annoying girls. Zeng Sunxi’s version of Heaven Sword is also decent. Otherwise you need to go back to very dated shows. WOH is what is called new wuxia and I think it can be argued that Princess Agents would fit there also.

Lin Haoqing was my favorite male character in the show. What an amazing actor.
They should cast him as lead in a period show with Dilraba I love their chemistry.

To show maximum support of this drama, should I view it on Viki, Croton, or Youku? Will view counts matter in…
All 3 are official channels but it’s not available on Youku outside of China and there are no English subs there either.

Title The Blue Whisper: Part 1 Spoiler
It is the Love and Destiny ending with role reversal. Chang Yi seals her in with the evil Shunde and takes it…
Yes I heard about the novel ending but since I didn't read it I can only rely on what I saw on screen. Tbh, I wish they had gone with that bc the couple suffered so much it is enough already but I also kind of like the drama ending as well bc it carries a message of hope. If we all work to erase evil from the world and make all creatures the same, then Chang Yi and Yun He can be together again.

Title The Blue Whisper: Part 1 Spoiler
Ending i didn't understand anyone explain me
It is the Love and Destiny ending with role reversal. Chang Yi seals her in with the evil Shunde and takes it on faith that one day she will return. Everyone expects her to return when she finally eviscerates Shunde and Chang Yi is imagining when that happens what that might look like. Which to him is she turns into a mermaid and they see the world together. Many people think that is real and she came back. But I don't think so bc from the dialogue they are talking about the ideal world they dream of and sacrifice for. But if you choose you can think she did come back with no explanation how. I think there is hope she will come back but she has not yet and that is where it ends. It is an open, potentially happy ending or a not yet happy ending. Other viewers are forcing a happy ending from never used or filmed script and you can also rely on that if you absolutely must have a happy ending.

Totally. Its just these bad actresses that came up from among other things girl bands that have no business acting. Tencent are the worst they just cast nonsense idol actors in good roles all the time and have ruined many really good stories.

Yes I did allude to the fact that he's a bit of a wierdo but he is still among the better Jin Yong heroes. I am also lukewarm about Xiao Long Nu but we are not talking his female characters.

Yes women came an incredibly long way in the last 50 years so I agree completely about the classic stuff but it is very not ok for modern dramas to be like this. That is one of the reasons I won't watch contemporary c-drama. They always make my blood boil including the current one I won't mention bc I know its popular.

Yes Wei Xiaobao is cunning and immoral and Linghu Chong is smart but I think he has terrible people judgement. And I don't think Wuji is dumb either but still Yang Guo is the only one I really thought was quite smart on an all rounded basis.

Bai Choufei vs Su Mengzhen over Lei Chun.
No I guess this must be set in Northern Song Dynasty. His family was fighting against the Liao. One of his sect elders was helping him escape an encounter with world no 6 top master from Liao who hit him with a palm strike which the sect elder blocked. It killed his sect elder and left him sickly.

😂😂😂 Barely there clothes and they run in high heels also on what planet is that possible?

I just hate how women are depicted like this. It is why my bro doesn't like my nieces to watch c-dramas and most Asian dramas bc they get the wrong idea of how women should conduct themselves. I complain about it all the time so that the viewer feedback that it is not ok gets out there and maybe these writers start to change the way they depict us.

Jin Yong's women are all way smarter and more interesting than the men. I think Yang Guo was the only intelligent male protagonist he wrote about and even then he is kind of a wierdo who chooses to live in a tomb! I think it was his own personal fantasy fan fiction that all these pretty awesome women have such low requirements for men.

Do you mean him in Journey accross the night? the set was indeed in Hongkong, but his accent is not cantonese,…
Now that I got to check out. I never rave about OSTs for c-dramas bc after awhile they all sound the same to me. Canto songs have better range and more tones, they are much more differentiated.

Theres too much happening and Im still at episode 2. Can someone explain to me why Tian Chun/Lei Chun killed her…
She killed him to stop him from killing the two dudes but you should just watch to find out why - don't want to spoil you bc its a good reveal. Wen Rou's dad is some muckety muck that no one wants to muck with so she is pretty safe from everyone.

He is from Shenzhen, his Canto should be pretty good but Guangdong people speak Canto a little bit different from HK Canto, just some of the turn of phrases and tones are slightly different but maybe their Cantonese is actually more authentic.

Yeah I wanted to throw rocks at my TV I had to drop Phoenix. She is slightly less obnoxious in this AND she isn't an important character. The story still makes sense and can still be enjoyed FF-ing her...

I saw Zhang Wuji's character in this drama, the male lead plays a hero who has no brains and has excessive sympathy…
Jin Yong was obsessed with dumb men that are loved by smart women and unfortunately it had lasting impact on how wuxia heroes have been written. That said, Zhang Wuji was actually relatively intelligent by his standards although incredibly indecisive and had bad taste in women in general. It would be great to see wuxias with smart male leads but tbh there are not that many.
