I personally enjoyed the show, but I enjoyed it for what it is, not a continuation of season 1. The second I realised it wouldn't get as nasty as season 1 I let go of all my expectations and decided to just be along for this ride and have fun, which I'm glad I did. Had I waited for the same kind of messiness as season 1, I, too, would have been disappointed.
Imo, one of the reasons for this disappointment is the lack of satisfaction the audience gets after all the anxiety and drama. In season 1, all the drama came with a messiness that was nasty, unhinged and over the top so all the anxiety came with this rush of adrenaline that made you want to get drunk with the characters and scream at them and throw things things at your screen (I may or may not have watched the last 2 episodes of season 1 while getting tipsy). So while it was stressful it was fun! It was bold and daring and kept surprising the hell out of us at every turn.
But the drama in season 2 feels real. It's the kind of drama that would happen in real life. So we get that brand of anxiety and stress that feels real-life-ish but we get none of the unhinged mess that makes it *fun*. It feels like, instead of watching rich spoiled kids fighting each other gossip girl style like in season 1 , we watched our friends fight and hurt each other because their drama felt rooted in our reality.
Not to say it wasn't a fun watch, it absolutely was. I'm not usually a fan of melodrama, but I enjoyed this series a lot, probably because the cast did a great job. Boom and Mix were amazing, I have a love hate relationship with Dean but Raffy is my baby. Am I a little disappointed that it didn't get messier? Yes, I am definitely sad that they sanitized this season to the point that not one of them even kissed outside their pairing. We have to thank Raffy for bringing at least some messiness to the story because Dean got reformed so fast. Would I still recommend this series? Yes, absolutely, but please keep an open mind and don't try to hold it to the standard of the first season. Watch it as a standalone and don't take it too seriously, have fun watching the characters deal with the consequences of their actions. Like AouBoom said in the special, don't try to help the characters, they'll deal with their mess themselves. You just have to have fun watching them struggle 🤭

I get it, I do that sometimes, too, but in my case it's because of my ADHD. It might be some kind of fatigue with watching shows, specially if that's all you've been doing for a while. If you feel like that could be it then try engaging in a different hobby for some time, let the craving for a good show come back.

1. The main theme is definitely family, including the found family trope. There is no romance, not even a FL. Although the BL (and GL at some point) vibes are very strong, so strong it could be really easy to read this as a love story if you wish to, but it could also easily be seen as a bromance if you prefer because there is no actual expression of romantic love.
2. This is the kind of story with multiple arcs where the cast helps people dealing with supernatural problems, with a slight twist - the villains are not always who they seem.
3. There is an overarching plot and it is a bit of a cliche, but I personally don't mind, it was heartwarming all the same. I'm keeping this vague because you'll find out within the first few minutes.
4. It's not too serious, there is definitely a comedic tone, specially through Wang Pei Yan. But it also deals with sad and heavy subjects (trigger warning and mild spoiler in a comment below). I'll admit my eyes got a bit misty from time to time. I personally think the heavy subjects were well handled.
5. The special effects aren't too bad.
6. I advise watching Yoori's version first (see soujijiji's comment below for the link) because she keeps the original names and has great translation, then if you want and can afford to, watch it on FlickReels (where they use western names) to support it on its legal platform.

I haven't watched anything in a while but the dramas I made her watch were Full House and Kiss Me (the Thai version since they were my faves), she loved those so I kept going. Next it was Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo and she loved it (she now has an obsession with Korean fried chicken and food scenes haha). Then we had a hiatus but she's been pestering me to watch other dramas for a while so we recently started again. So far we've done Goblin and Signal (both hits though Signal's ending had her frustrated). We're about to start the Reply series and my PTW list is ever growing so I'd say that my mission was a complete success! :D

I agree with the masculine gay couple. That is pretty rare, though in Thai BLs the guys are less feminine than in other countries BLs, they're like your average teen / young adult guys. And I'm glad to see that's their relationship is on the realistic side, too, that gives me more motivation to watch it.

Why? Ji Dwi became the king and everyone is supporting him. Isn't that what he wanted? The only thing he didn't get is Ah Ro but it was pretty obvious from the start.
