Fascinating drama! How can you live with yourself if you told a lie that put someone in prison. Better yet, why…
This is an old reply so I'm just saying it for whomever is wondering the same.
I have wondered that too and came to this conclusion: Azumi's testament was crucial because she saw Nishiwaki "on" her way to the station not by the station. It was the same time when the boy was killed, so if she was the murderer then she could've killed him and rushed to the station. Taking in account that it needs time to ride the train and arrive at the kid's house so their testament is not reliable since it's different than the time of the death.
But if Azumi told the truth, then she would have an alibi at the time of the death since she was on her way to the station. But it's weird too that nobody checked the station for witnesses. I think this is the lesson, their prejudgment led them to ignore any other perspectives and focus on Nishiwaki only.
I would just like to suggest watching the 2003 Kimi wa Petto before the remake. Very different feels. The early…
I actually watched the first like 5 minutes of Kimi wa petto the remake before dropping it, then decided to watch the original and guess what! What a piece of art and fun.
The late 90's and early 00's dramas are unbeatable in my opinion.
Everyone here is assuming that when she goes to jail she will be left without help with her withdrawal or anything. Making drugs a light issue and giving drug addicts a pass will lead to much more serious problems. People still commit crimes although there are punishments, imagine having a pass to abuse drugs as you wish as long as you have access to it.

I loved this drama, it's really amazing!
I applaud the writer for making me enjoy the annoyance I felt lol
I liked Kenshin movies and now I have more reasons to like it more!
