On The End of the World with You Mar 20, 2023
Sigh. The number of uncomprehending comments over how people still do not understand why Ritsu did what he did blows my head. The problem is that some of you do not even try to understand him. A freak down there could even write such outrageous shit that those who proudly enjoy sex with multiple persons are disgusting. This board where people are always so quick to condemn anything mildly offensive, this did not even raise an eyebrow. CoNeTrIC was totally spot on below: "And, if these comments are anything to go by, few people can appreciate or relate to personal ethics that isn't conventional or black & white".

Ritsu is a free spirit who was genuinely in love with Masumi; he just could not change his non-monogamous nature. And he probably still cannot, even if he is most likely to make an attempt at it, once they are reunited. That is why Masumni said they might face hardship even if they survive, because he counts with this risk, among many others. Ritsu broke up with Masumi, because Masumi was not willing to pursue this non-conventional relationship with him, but it is clear that Masumi is the only one he ever loved, even if he loved him in his own way - and he was the only one who sincerely and selflessy loved Masumi too. And when the world came to its end, Ritsu decided to reunite with his only love, and made several efforts to finally make him happy.

But no, for the moral purists conventional monogamous relationship is the only acceptable format, everything else is detestable. Of course you don't understand this story. And it is indeed funny to see how some butthurt folks still insist that Masumi deserves better and he should carry on sulking. Fffs have you listened to the narrative? He wasted the last 10 years of his life doing a job he hates and isolating himself from the world out there because of a botched love, and you think he should still stay miserable and say no to Ritsu because that is what the bastard Ritsu deserves. Holy shit. Like Japanese movie "His" and the Thai series "I Promised You the Moon"  this show separates the audience to two camps: those who can reflect on the past and capable of forgiving for their own sake and those who are entrapped in their own grievances, keep nursing their grudges and rather hurt themselves than letting mistakes go.

And this never-ending stupid moanfest about the side characters. Good lord, out of 8 episodes only the 5th concentrated somewhat more on Meguru and Yuma, Madoka had 3 minutes in episode 6, Yuma and Meguru had about 5 minutes in the finale, apart from them the rest of the supporting characters literally had nearly walk-on roles. Everything else was all about Ritsu and Masumi in the present or in the past, and you go on and on whining about the show allegedly concentrating on the side characters, which is objectively not true. Meguru and Yuma had important roles also to get to know more about the main leads' backgrounds as well as the outcome of the plot, but no wonder you don't get the narrative if you are skipping important characters. The ending is not open, even if the director decided to go on that somewhat symbolic route. Yuma finally saved the world from something he might have caused himself as a Wonder Boy out of his deep sadness. What Masumi and Ritsu see at the end is the sunshine. Up until then the sky was almost always cloudy.

the friends hooking up thing is explained later in the webtoon, presumably the drama will address it as well.…
It never ceases to amaze me when people come to a debate board and freak out when their bs is contradicted. They seem to think being entitled to their opinions literally means they are entitled to their opinions unchallenged.

A really frightening state of things in this snowlake/safe space new world.

When you think about all of the clues we are given about Yuma, the ending doesn't seem so open ended, after all.…
Thanks for this. I have not read the manga but I could come to the same conclusions without any doubt. The number of clueless comments under MDL once again is depressing.

I am rewatching episode 1 and I am slightly confused. Ritsu says he wish he could study literature instead of…
Ritsu probably did not want to reveal to Masumi at the beginning that he was a love child of a single woman and made that story up.

And this story is just too adult and complex for the average black and white... cough, cough... "red flag/green…
I decide myself what is necessary to me. I have no difficulty to sense sarcasm without emoticons or something, if you have, that is your problem.

I wonder whether the angsty preview is just a red herring or we should prepare for a sad finale.

omg I just saw the trailer I need this!!!
I have read very good reviews about it. The previous teasers and trailers were also very intriguing but the latest one from two days ago literally gave me chills. This must be a hell of a journey. It gives me gay Sleuth vibes on steroids.

I really don't think its Frank's acting that's bad. It's the direction and screenplay. I don't know how else you…
I am currently watching the Isan-milieu show Nha Harn The Series, and he is very good in it. It is really not his fault, it is the character that is written that way.

So the long haired dude is jealous that his man is getting close to Da Yeol. And what's his solution? Why, he…
I am not sure if he is jealous or it is just his vanity got hurt. It seemed more like a prank to me. They appear to be superficial fuck buddies or something only. The guy did not even know Tae Hyun's address.

I say whatever I want and I am rude when it is necessary. This time I was not. It is called sarcasm.

Title A Shoulder to Cry On Spoiler
I have not read the webtoon but from what I have seen my hunch is that Tae Hyun caused the death of his own family, and quite possibly raised by his aunt afterwards who kept telling him he was guilty and he was not allowed to be happy and smiling in the rest of his life. And that is why he keeps smiling even in sad situations.

Don't spoil me with the solution if you have read it, please. I wanna keep myself intrigued.

This show well balances the comedic and dramatic approach of a serious narrative, and it is not the production team's fault if the legendarily mature and sensible MDL commenters (megalol) fail to see Tae Hyun's actions for all their seriousness just because they are committed by a smiling charmer.

Btw episode 2 already makes Tae Hyun's character a lot more layered and complex, acting and plot are becoming better and better. I am already carried away by this series.

Thank you! I guess now that My Beautiful Man is over (excluding the movie) people are looking for another show…
Actually dingbats who kept trashing the first seaon of MBM thankfully kept themselves away from the comment section of the second.

Title A Shoulder to Cry On Spoiler
My Beautiful Man is among my top tier BLs of all time and this one seems to be an interesting and exciting psychological journey so far, and I enjoy it, but it is mind-boggling how some poeple could say this is milder than MBM.

Kiyoi did nothing but let himself served with some ginger ale by a stalker (who thoroughly enjoyed serving him) and called him creepy every now and then (which Hira undeniably was), while he was the only one in the shcool who showed clear interest in Hira and protected him from others.

Whereas Jo Tae Hyun accuses an archery scholarship student of sexual assault and nearly makes him lose everything, then he pulls pranks after pranks on him, humiliates him in front of others and takes his spin wings away from him which he knows means a lot to Lee Da Yeol.

And yet people could say Jo Tae Hyun is less of a bully or milder. I cannot really find any other explanation for that than Kiyoi was portrayed as a dark, detached and moody person at first while Jo Tae Hyun is played like a cheerful and sassy charmer. Yet another display how vacuously some viewers are stuck on the surface.

The first 4 episodes were entirely about Masumi and Ritsu. Then came the 5th which was more about Meguru and Yuma. The 6th was also concentrating on the main couple, Meguru's sister had a
3 minutes scene only, yet even that story was more about Ritsu's background and how he came to the thought of dealing with suicide. Episode 7 was again entirely about Ritsu and Masumi. And people go on and on about the side character dominating the show over several episodes which is objectively not true. Peer pressure at work.

When one guy is too drunk to walk and the other one is sober then, yes, it is rape. Maybe if you were not so childish…
I have never said drunk sex is not good, but your comprehension skills are on the ant's level, as you have displayed in each of your comments. Drunk sex is very good. That is why people keep practicing it since forever, it helps you... cough, cough... helps those who have sex ease up and improve your self-confidence, god forbid less shy when it comes to do the dirty, if someone is into that. And that is why they often present it because it is a part of life, and that is why people keep practicing it. If these also achieve that filthy, puritan shitgibbons like you are losing their shit over this fact is an extra source of joy.

Since your memory also seems like goldfish, and you constantly come up with shit that I have already answered, I copy and paste.

"You don't even grasp that 2 minutes on screen does not always mean 2 minutes in narrative, not to mention that he threw up and had a splash as it was explianed to your ignoramus head by not just me, but someone else too, not to mention he slept on it. Every person who ever had a booze knows this, plus we saw him walking upstairs by himself, then had a lucid conversation before the made out. Plenty of details you ignore and disregard, because they do not fit your deranged agenda".

"Your body always loses control long before your clear mind. " That is why you are not allowed to drive drink and that is why you could be perfectly capable to have consensual drunk sex. Not rocket science, once again only for those who know what drinking and sex are.

"If someone is capable to hold a lucid and meaningful conversation and not only initiates sex, but subsequently actively participates in a sexual intercourse, then they are conscious and absolutely capable to give consent, and everyone with half a brain can tell this was the case. They know what they are doing. End of the story. The rest is pure gaslighting." This drama was written this way because it wanted to prersent a consensual drunk sex situation, but you are throwing your toys out of the pram because you wanted to see a gaslighting shit preaching the absolute bullshit that drunk sex could only be rape. Aof did not choose this path, thank goodness.

"I am a middle-aged guy and I have had my spare of booze in my life, including drunk sex. At least 80% of my sexual intercourses involved booze, sometimes mutually, sometimes only me was drunk, sometimes the other way around" So I am not fucking drunk guys, I involve booze into most of my sexual interactions, for the reason elaborated in the first paragraph. Plus: "You will also learn that alcohol is not a love potion which transforms you to someone else. It does nothing but lowers your inhibitions and makes you do things you are willing to do anyway, but with less reservations. If someone is black out drunk that is a completely different story, but that is not the case here, neither it is in most cases when MDL puritans have meltdown about it. You are not having sex with someone you don't like just because you are drunk."

When one guy is too drunk to walk and the other one is sober then, yes, it is rape. Maybe if you were not so childish…
You are becoming increasingly obtuse and vicious wih each comment, you angry, filthy little one.

1. I puke becasue you are a typical keyboard SJW who lives for hatred and moral judgements over things you obviously do not comprehend.

2. The thing that your damaged little brain cannot absorb that there is a strong difference between being black out drunk and just drunk, that every person's body metabolizes alcohol differently, and that there are plenty of layers of the drunken state, including ones when you are fully conscious and totally capable of intentionally and mindfully doing stuff like sex is another evidence you have probably never had any experience like this and you are barking from your nursery room.

3. Two consenting adults had a consensual sex which they both thoroughly enjoyed and they were both absolutely happy about it afterwards, like it happens every day in real life (you know among people who actually have sex life), but they should have refrained from something they both enjoy, because a micropenis/pre-spinster like you pulled out of their arse that it is not right? You are not only imbecile, but an entitled, tyrannical crap who would command others how to live their lives.

4. The idiotic comparison of drunk driving with drunk sex is another new low, but you have vastly proved your ignorance knows no limits. You don't even grasp that 2 minutes on screen does not always mean 2 minutes in narrative, not to mention that he threw up and had a splash as it was explianed to your ignoramus head by not just me, but someone else too, not to mention he slept on it. Every person who ever had a booze knows this, plus we saw him walking upstairs by himself, then had a lucid conversation before the made out. Plenty of details you ignore and disregard, because they do not fit your deranged agenda.

5. You are not only a disgusting piece of shit, you are also lying through your teeth. I have never said that rape is acceptable. Just because a stupid jackass like you cannot squeeze into their bird brain that drunk sex is not equivalent with rape, and situations like ours or the one in MC are excellent examples for that, does not make me a rape apologist. It just underlines again how totally ridiculous when frustrated psychopaths try to argue about something they have obviously no knowledge about. Your last hate-filled cursing is another display of your abysmal mindset and that you don't know shit. My lovers have always been totally pleased with our good times because I have never had sex with black out drunk people, only those who knew what they wanted. A difference you will apparently never comprehend, among many others.

I'm the one imagining things or Lue and Din are the same person ? Din may very well have plastic surgery to hide…
This is actually hinted from the very beginning, yet it might be a red herring.
