Lily and her dad and mom move into ''the zero crime'' Poblacion Ardiente and meet the ruling Ardiente family. Lily befriends the rejected son of the Ardiente family ''Diego'' who is being abused by his family and looking for support.
Diego's dad Raul has a tendency to r*pe women as he tries to get away from his jealous wife Emilia. Raul sees Lily's mom and attempts to r*pe her, this fails but Lily's dad finds out and is furious.
Lily's dad goes to the Ardiente family to discuss what happened and Emilia poisons him so he dies. The mom and Lily are heartbroken and try to leave but an armed man breaks into their home. Lily is instructed by her mom to run away and she ends up in a big city. The mom becomes mentally broken and is saved by Raul and he decides to keep her in a secret location away from Emilia. Everyone now thinks the whole family is dead.
Lily ends up meeting a boy called Jepoy who saves her from being r*ped and when she is almost run over by a car a wealthy lady called Prianka takes her into her home. Prianka lost her daughter and wants to teach Lily to take revenge. She gives Lily the name ''Ivy'' to hide her identity and adopts her. They also take in Jepoy and Lily befriends a niece of her maid called ''Ana''.
Years later Prianka dies of illness and Lily is unrecognizable from when she was a kid so she goes back to Poblacion Ardiente for revenge. Jepoy takes a job as a bodyguard at the Ardiente family to have insider information. Lily meets Diego again and he falls for her but he doesn't recognize her yet and is still waiting for Lily to return as he thinks she may be alive. Diego is also supporting farmers against the Ardiente family who want to clear the farmer's land.
Lily is introduced to Arnaldo whom she tries to seduce with her wealth and Emilia also takes an interest in her money. At this point Jepoy, Diego and Arnaldo all like Ivy/Lily. However, Arnaldo is already engaged to Natalie due to political-alliance reasons.
Lily discovers her mom is still alive and rescues her as Emilia tries to burn her to death. Jepoy gets exposed as a spy and has to flee for a long time. The relationship between Natalie and Arnaldo ends due to a split in political alliances and Emilia has Natalie's father killed. A greedy and jealous girl named Nimfa tries to expose the identity of Lily but she gets shot by Arnaldo because he's triggered. Arnaldo ends up killing Lily's maid because of a rage-attack as well.
Lily is set to marry Arnaldo in a week, she goes to the wedding in a black gown. Diego enters and a whole reveal happens which cancels the wedding. Arnaldo at this point is pretty crazy as he's torn between his love for Ivy and his evil Ardiente family.
Raul is revealed to have a double-identity as ''Jaguar'' (a gangster) which he uses to kinda rebel against the Ardiente family in his own way. This takes up so much of his time that he has less time to cheat on Emilia but he still gets it on with Natalie as she is on the lookout for revenge too.
Arnaldo is in a sort-of coma and the Ardiente family now knows Lily is not their ally. So Emilia and the Ardiente grandfather capture Lily and have her burried alive. She saves herself and Diego, Jepoy and the ''Jaguar'' finds her. A man who looks like Lily's father (with a moustache) is revealed to be her gangster-uncle and he tries to get with Lily's mom. Also the aunt of Emilia finds out that Emilia has a different mom and warns Emilia of this shortly before dying from gunshots from the grandfather.
The Ardiente's have a party and Lily makes an iconic return with the words ''Black is out, Gold is in and like Gold I am indestructible.''. Basically also proclaiming that Ivy-side of her is now dead but her Lily-side is alive.
Then Emilia's real mom ''Red Dragon'' returns and she's some gang-leader of the Red Dragons which becomes a thing for a while. At this point Arnaldo wakes up from coma and now we have the Arnaldo-amnesia arc as he becomes a priest for some reason. The Ardiente grandfather wants to restore Arnaldo as he wants to continue his legacy through him. Raul in his Jaguar-disguise accidentally gets shot by Emilia and dies which makes Emilia get locked into a mental hospital by the grandfather. Arnaldo slowely starts remembering Ivy/Lily and returns to being hateful. He tries to kill Ivy and Diego in their wedding but fails to do so. Arnaldo shoots himself in desperation that Ivy/Lily will never love him.
Meanwhile Jepoy and Ana kinda become a thing but Natalie is also into Jepoy so that is a whole drama. The grandfather decides to burn the town down as he now has no more successor and he tries to publically hang Lily. Diego and the others save Lily and start rioting and destroying the Ardiente house as Emilia and the grandfather flee. Natalie is happy because she has now taken revenge for her killed father. Diego becomes leader due to the Ardiente's being gone but gets sniper-shot by the grandfather during the celebrations and dies.
Lily finds Emilia and the grandfather and has taken receipts with her to prove to Emilia that her grandfather killed her loved ones (like her aunt). Emilia makes a last-minute switch and shoots her grandfather, meaning Lily has not had to kill anyone directly herself. The Ardiente grandfather survives the shots but is kidnapped by a newly revealed adoptive daughter of the Red Dragon who intends to torture him as long as possible. Lily becomes leader of the town. Emilia becomes paralyzed and is sometimes visited by Lily. The end.
Honestly great series with iconic moments. Wasn't as big of a fan of the Red Dragon-arc which felt weakest for me in terms of the characters. There were no big iconic moments like in the start of the series. Especially since the final arc after that kinda brings everything together and has big moments.
But in general they just struck gold with the casting for the evil family and Lily.

The predecessor of the current BL genre? We're talking like around 40 years ago for Shounen-Ai. The actual named BL genre that we watch nowadays? Created in late 90s by commercial magazines to avoid having to name-drop good old JUNE.
Sorry I don't wanna go too much into the details but I just love talking about the history of this media. I think the genres within the over-arching BL label should be categorized to some extent tho because they have identifiable markers.
I have seen some comments below criticizing the use of labels tho. But still, its convenient since Shounen-Ai is basically no ok in todays standards (its minors, tragedy and assault) and BL is an accepted term and genre.
Bigtime underrated show due to multiple factors: -Its not on official international platforms currently -It has very heavy themes especially in the beginning
But I think this will likely one of the most emotionally gripping JBLs of this year
Surprising, 42 years Japanese Gay Pink Films and Japan still does not approve gay marriage
Important to note that most gay pink films were released only in specific Japanese cinemas that allowed ero-films and even some in cinemas that only screened gay films. Through that it formed a safe meeting place for gay men but it also kept the general public unaware of most of the films. So in that regard I'd say gay pink films are an extremely niche sub-culture and sub-genre.
I think like mentioned before that for some BL fans this movie might be offputting.
But it has real historical value which originates all the way back to the 1980s of Japan. This gay pink genre represented the gay experience in Japan for a gay audience before BL live-action existed. But of course this modernized version might originate from that but has veered off into its own direction. Regardless, its continuing a decades-old cinema-tradition from before likely most of us were born.
The trailer was attacked by conservatives in Korea. We need to now support this show extra! This is one of those key-moments in history where you can make a difference.
