In defence of the queens cousin. First of all let me state I do ship the king and queen together but I don't agree with some of the criticism the cousin has been getting.
-He's her cousin so his feelings for her are creepy They're not really related, he is adopted and he's aware of that. Yes in family-title they're related but nothing more.
-He is way too obsessive and protective He gave up the love of his life because he thought she might find happiness in the palace. He came back to find her a shadow of her former self and abandoned by the king. Should he just let go of her? He also had the idea that the queen genuinely liked him (cousin) because they kissed. Its very logical why he would want to protect her and take care of her. Even after this he finds out the king himself likely plotted the assassination on the queen. What is he supposed to think at that point? Him trying to keep an eye on the queen is only logical.
-He should just accept their marriage and back off I disagree, how could he live with himself if the queen actually died in the palace? Knowing that he willingly let her go towards her own death. Yes dying in the palace is a very real threat and the king himself is very capable of murdering the queen. We as drama-watchers know he likely won't but if you immerse yourself in the cousins perspective for a while then you'll see how he could be worried.
-He's being disrespectful to the king Yes and he's from a powerful clan that allows him some power to do that. The king knows he can't lash out too much or he'll risk his operations being exposed and the cousin can feel the king is hiding something so he provokes him. The only things he knows about the king is that he's hiding stuff, that he doesn't truly love the queen and that the king is a danger to the queen.
-The king is way better! Is he so much better though?? Lets put the facts on the board. 1. The king is very willing to kill the queen, the cousin would die for the queen. 2. The king uses the queen for his plans, the cousin makes plans to protect the queen. 3. The king currently loves a second woman (concubine), the cousin only loves the queen. 4. The king would not have mourned her if she had died in first ep, the cousin would've.
Now of course this will all change when its revealed that the queen was the one who tried to protect the king as children. However, that hasn't happened yet and the king is still fully willing to end her life at any time. Yet everyone already seems to hate the cousin while he hasn't even gone into the villain side yet. Yes the queen loved the king originally but she was betrayed by the king. Those love feelings still remain so obviously they'll end up together and I support that. But I don't think the current choices of the cousin character are bad with the information and position he has.
Is it just me or does anyone else feel like the king's brother and the queen's cousin are the absolute biggest…
Both are just very unlucky as they're both not in the position to realistically get their loved one. I think their perseverance is admirable though, they know their position very well but still try to get close to the impossible. Wanting to have something precious to protect isn't a bad thing necessarily. Ofcourse that protectiveness can eventually lead to bad things
it's always been like that. but people change their ratings depending on current writing. do do sol sol la la…
Its not for everyone and takes some time to learn how to find suitable ones. Some never settle into the jdrama vibe and thats ok as kdramas are usually made to have a wider appeal for international people.
it's always been like that. but people change their ratings depending on current writing. do do sol sol la la…
For kdrama that's probably a good strategy but I watch jdrama as well where I can't really apply that. There's around two times less dramas rated 8 or higher for Japan on MDL in comparison to kdramas. So I basically pay very little attention to ratings and just look at comments and synopsis
So yong's soul I am beginning to think is not coming back. She has not made her presence known since BH possessed…
The souls merging may be more figuratively. Its very likely that the brain of the queen is triggering the memories now that the guys soul is inhibiting the body long enough. All her memories are still stored in the head after all.
However, since the cook is receiving these new memories that'll start creating a new version of him as a person. Think of it as a gradual overwrite of his memory if he stays in the body long enough. More and more memories will be added, eventually creating a person that has both qualities of the queen and the cook.
Because while initially he may have his own goals. Through gaining the emotions and experiences of the body he will likely start to make choices that the original queen would've made.
So while waiting for the next episode of this, I click and click on the links here in Mr. Queen and found out…
The thing about Korean BLs I can explain. All these Korean BLs lately aren't actually mainstream products, they're all webseries (published on internet-only). So that doesn't mean a lot to the bigtime dramas that you'll see on Korean tv like this one. I don't expect them to show a clearly male&male relationship in highprofile kdramas, because that's just cause Korean society is conservative about that. They do know about the popularity of bromance so it's not surprising they're throwing in some elements.
If they do go ahead with the plan to fully make the queen a new person (combining the queen and the cooks mind) then there's no problem though. The queen will be female enough in the eyes of the viewers, especially now that the male inner voice is gone.
So whether it will be:1)Bong Hwan is the reincarnation of So Yong in the future OR2)Bong Hwan's soul and So Yong's…
Well So Yong did choose to die so its not like she would normally be enjoying a romance if her body didn't get possessed. She'd be burried somewhere. So I don't really view it as unfair to So Yong.
If they do switch for So Yong again then I'm curious whether the king will notice. Last time his soon-to-be-wife died he just thought she'd gone a bit crazy. So Yong would get away with it if she just claimed memory loss.
Just my opinion, the thing about Transmigration genre is that there is no going back to you original time or body…
Could be that she was just his previous life? In that case the memories are kinda his own. However it could also just be random transmigration. In that case the memories are just from the body.
In any case, the soul does seem to be getting used to the body more and more.I think we can still always expect the weird behaviour (luckily, that stuff is very comedical) but his future decisions are going to be heavily influenced by the queens memories.
Something interesting to note is that when he almost died, the queen became hollow and didn't retain a soul. So it seems the only way for the queen and king to be together is if he stays in a coma for a long while. Really curious how this drama will end because it seems his ties with the modern world aren't breakable. Currently I think they'll just wake him up at the end and he'll meet someone who resembles the king (reincarnation mayby). Or mayby he'll get to choose which world he wants.
