I'm still not sure about the very first scene in episode one with Adachi and his bike. Is it supposed to be a…
Yes, the clothes he's wearing would indicate its a future event. Manga readers like myself assume the clothes are from the date as the ending of each episode also features them.
I know this sounds bad but I wish someone leaked the episodes. I am sorry guys I know it's bad but every week…
This is why I read the manga, don't wanna wait to see how things develop without at least some hope. Also its neat to compare the drama with the manga.
So everything's pointing at a change in their relationship. My guess is that next episode (like we saw in the…
I mean I can tell you what I think but it'll mostly be manga spoilers xD So here's just some basic info. Don't worry about that date-stuff, they can't really make us wait any longer for those that since we've got more storypoints to cover. I highly expect a first date scene pretty soon after Adachi reaches Kurosawa to tell his feelings. So that may already be in episode 8 or they'd have to throw in some new plotpoints I'm unaware of. Also... I'm hoping the hug makes it into the drama.
Yes in the ep 7 preview he also mentions that he is aware his love has to end someday. He has just been silently…
Oh yeah that scene. Well, the emotional state of Kurosawa at that point is of course pretty high since he is about to ''end things with Adachi'' in his mind. If we look at the entire story of this scenario it does become clear what his reaction is about.
So first we've got Kurosawa and Adachi together and Adachi mentioning that its the first time someone made porridge for him outside of his family. Kurosawa gets distracted at hearing that and likely pretty sad too, the next scene gives more clarity.
Kurosawa and Adachi are still walking together but Adachi mentions ''normally we would be nursed by a sweetheart at our age''. Adachi just makes it as a remark of self deprecation and a bit of lighthearted poking fun at the situation. However look at the face of Kurosawa during this scene (crushed). This is again confirmation to Kurosawa about how Adachi never saw him like that.
So then Kurosawa mentions this thing about how Adachis future partner must be so happy to have all those ''first moments'' with him. This ties back to that earlier scene where Kurosawa heard he was the first to make porridge for Adachi. He was happy to hear it but knowing that this is all gonna end makes it very bittersweet. So he gets distracted a bit at that point.
Am I right to think that the reason Kurosawa looks so sad during the day of his confession is because he has decided…
Yes in the ep 7 preview he also mentions that he is aware his love has to end someday. He has just been silently watching from far away but once the word is out he can't do that anymore.
So if we go back to episode 1 remember how Kurosawa said he was lucky for even running into Adachi? That's how much distance he always took from him. So regarding the developments of their relationship... It was always from a distance ever since he fell in love with Adachi. The time he got lucky in the elevator probably inspired Kurosawa to get closer.
He still had zero expectations for getting beyond basic colleague level up UNTIL Adachi ran up to him and asked to eat together. Cause that gave Kurosawa hope that Adachi did want to connect as more than colleagues.
Ep 3 is incredibly important in that regard. Because this is where Kurosawa develops the idea that his love is becoming burdensome to Adachi when he sees his scared expression. When Adachi mentions he wasn't disgusted by Kurosawa this actually creates such an emotional response from Kurosawa. He sees an opening for romantic advancement and goes to take it but gets disturbed. Now determined, Kurosawa vows to make Adachi fall in love with him.
So then we get the next parts where Kurosawa protects Adachi from a hit. Again he is worried that his protective behaviour will be seen as annoying by Adachi. His fear for rejection from Adachi isn't quite gone. When he gets thanked by Adachi he is happy and thinks its fine for him to continue getting involved with Adachi.
Finally we get to the point where Adachi gets sick in ep 6. Kurosawa puts Adachis health above his own romantic plans and is ready to leave. Adachi mentioning them living together does immediately make his imagination run wild.
So at this point the development with Kurosawa is that he feels comfortable taking care of Adachi but he still hasn't seen any development from Adachi in regards to falling in love with him. His plans were to take it slow and see if Adachi would develop feelings for him.
However Adachi gets close with other colleagues and Kurosawa takes notice. Feeling like his efforts are not reaching Adachi he feels sad. In his eyes Adachi should at least have a faint idea of what he feels. Adachi wanting to take Rokkaku with them likely gets him to question if Adachi ever felt anything for him (since he is close with other colleagues as well)
So the bedscene. This is such an impactful scene. Adachi hears Kurosawas thoughts which are nothing new but he is worried as he feels vulnerable. When Kurosawa stays with him too long he attemps to get him away by moving in his sleep. At that point Kurosawa is filled with love for Adachi and seeing him move away in his sleep snaps him out of his mindset.
When Kurosawa stands at that dooropening alone in the dark he is realising his plans aren't working out anymore. Adachi isn't developping feelings for him (in his mind) and his mind can no longer be happy with their distant love. Him saying ''what am I doing'' is a realisation that things can't continue.
When he sees Adachi next day it is him being fully prepared to say goodbye forever. His plans didn't work out and now all he can do is just get the truth. He is fully aware that Adachi will likely reject him but Kurosawa wants to finish his love like that.
Youtube but there were no subs. So yeah... You can still see the cute moments but understanding the language is something else. I usually get by on just knowing a few Mandarin words (such as like/love) to understand simpler stories. Or mayby you understand Mandarin yourself in which case you're in luck.
the number of people who can sub this drama's content i can count on my one hand lol. some already made themselves…
There are a lot of Japanese subbers on the internet but most focus on their own types of shows or even just anime and quality can vary a lot. Its lucky that this show was picked up by a good subber. So its always a matter of luck whether a show gets picked up for subbing or not by a regular fansubber, popularity does help though. In worst cases fans will do it themselves.
This drama will become one of the best BL dramas ever made (and my personal favorite BL drama of 2020).
Agreed, this BL took fluffy cuteness, gentle caring and loyal love to another level. The expressions on Kurosawas face just make this drama into a whole different experience.
Is there any site/acc who translates their interviews? I read a few things on twitter about their interviews like:…
I'm not sure about the things you mentioned (haven't seen that in interviews I read yet) but I have read some translated articles before. This is what I've seen: -Akaso mentioned he got to feel how a girl feels like with the kabedon from Machida. So a part of his surprised reaction in such scenes is likely real.
-Akaso and Machida hugged during the watterbottle drop to keep their bodies from moving.
-Asaka mentioned he thought Machida and Akaso were still in character when he met them cause they resembled their characters a lot. For Akaso I've read he just amplifies his shyness a lot to achieve the Adachi character.
-Machida did have a time when he said something in a way Kurosawas character would outside of the filming (something about it being cold I think) and he took a small break after that xD
But yeah their real life friendship is just cute to see. Akaso clearly looks up to Machida like with his character and Machida is a very caring co-actor.
What does the black goat represent, profile photo of Kurosawa, can anyone tell me?
Yes its Kurosawas profile picture. I've debated the meaning of the black goat a while back with some other users. A few options that came out of that discussion were: -The black goat mayby represents Kurosawa as being a black sheep/outsider.
-The black colour of the goat is a reference to the ''Black'' kanji in Kurosawas name. His literal translated name being ''Black narrow river''/ ''黒沢'' by the way.
-The goat could be a reference to the Zodiac animals. For those unaware, its kinda like astrology in Western countries with Scorpios/Leos and all that. Now I say this because of the resemblance in the personality type of the Zodiac Goat but there was one more thing.
You see when we look at Adachi in ep 6 you notice he uses a rabbit picture he sends to Kurosawa with the ''OK'' sign. Now look at the compatibility chart of Chinese Zodiac animals, that's right... Rabbit and Goat/Sheep have a ''Best Match'' compatibility.
