This is an interesting point to bring up.
I think it highly depends on the point of time where the mindreading is brought up. Like right now we are at a very unstable point for Kurosawa. He just confessed and (my prediction based on preview) Adachi will likely not react which causes Kurosawa to say ''Forget it'' and leave. Adachi will chase him eventually but we don't know how long that takes.
I'm gonna consider that the drama may not follow the manga 100%. So the earliest Kurosawa could find out is when Adachi chases after him and finds him. At that point Adachi will likely finally communicate back to Kurosawa that its not impossible to be lovers.
So from this point onwards in the manga we get happy Kurosawa for a long while. I don't think he would really care even if he found out about the mindreading from this point on.
I mean yeah it sucks for Kurosawa that Adachi was keeping it silent but if Adachi was outspoken and had rejected him outright we would've never gotten to this point. So it was a blessing for Kurosawa that his feelings were communicated in such a way, even if its a bit emberassing.
Yeah that legendary scene of Adachi and Kurosawa on the bench together at night. I don't think I can survive such…

Absolutely agreed. I love the manga too but it didn't hurt/stay with me like the drama-version does. The manga has some iconic moments but the drama-version is doing a good job at putting their own spin on it and makes everything seem more meaningful.

I've watched Machida before in ''Joshi-teki Seikatsu'' where he surprised me with his more energetic, a bit clueless yet also emotionally gentle character.
I didn't see him in any other projects but I did watch a compilation of his scenes in ''Chugakusei Nikki''. Where he acts like a younger more inexperienced version of Kurosawa.

I literally rewatch some episodes just for Machidas acting/Kurosawa cause seeing such realistic emotional expressions isn't something I expected to see starting this drama. How Machida has such strong control of his expressions to bring them all out so perfectly is amazing. No mindreading needed, he just shows everything with his bodylanguage when its about emotional stuff. Akaso does a great job getting into his cute/shy character too and it fits him perfectly.
Alright now that I've been able to rewatch the episode at my own pace I have some things to say about Kurosawa. The struggle portrayed in episode 6 is actually far better than I ever expected to see in such a supposed fluffy series. Writing this made me emotional again.
Cause remember this Kurosawa is the same man who was prepared to just be a colleague to Adachi for the rest of his life and only be with him in his fantasy. While we did hear Kurosawa think things like ''Now we live together!'' and ''We were supposed to be on our date'' he still had this giant rift between appearance and thoughts.
This is the episode where he was pushed far enough that he couldn't just live in that fantasy-realm anymore. But he also knows from prior experiences with the missed kiss that Adachi would likely not accept his affection in reality. Him touching ''sleeping'' Adachi with his hand and seeing the disgruntled expression of Adachis face in response was what put him over the edge.
I actually found it very powerful how they shot the scene where Kurosawa walks away. Because he is angry at himself for not being able to put up with just fantasy anymore and also afraid how this will affect the relationship between Adachi and him. The increased breathing due to emotions and dark shades make this a very real and painful scene.
Then the fearful determination we see from Kurosawa as he prepares to talk to Adachi. I love how we see Kurosawa walk distracted behind Adachi as he's talking, looking at him because he knows this could be the end of everything between them. The way Kurosawa is slightly anxious when he catches Adachi staring and the way he is more forcefull with his expressions is such a good way to show how he feels.
In the final scene it shows Kurosawa just looking straight ahead, not looking at Adachi anymore. At that point he has accepted potentially losing Adachi. Though he knows that the final words are still said with anxiety. The fearful breath he takes before he says ''I love you''.
Whoever casted Machida made the best decision. This man can act great and I constantly catch myself tracking his expressions. Anyway, this has been my report on Kurosawa episode 6 hope you enjoyed!
