Alright currently the drama has hit a pace where I'm sure that I'll be entertained enough by each episode. Mayby we'll hit a filler arc eventually but for Rowoon I can survive through it.

Alice in Borderland fan here. I don't think Alice in Borderland could've done the same as a Korean show because of the difference in how kdramas and jdramas are perceived internationally currently.

Kdramas have benefit from the global success of the movie Parasite and have allowed access to international kdrama fans for many years now. What did jdramas build up internationally? Very limited access and most shows being subbed by fans. Also a pretty bad reputation among anime fans due to a lot of live-actions not doing great.

There is a subconcious/open bias against jdramas among even many drama fans. I do honestly think if Alice in Borderland was produced by Korea in a very similar manner then it would've done better internationally. It's just a more favorable country for release of media currently. But yeah I liked both SG and AiB personally (AiB being my personal favorite) and I watch both kdramas and jdramas.

Pure insanity. Really great.

Episode 8 is good!!

This is one of the older Korean movies that left an impression. Not necessarily for positive reasons but I will say they acted great for the story it was. It was definitely unique, especially for its time.

I would definitely recommend both kdrama and BL fans to check tags before starting this one, just to be prepared. I hope they are able to modernize some of its elements.

Due to repeated uncertainty about where the fansubs are from users I've made a Forum Topic listing every English fansubber I am aware of. 3 have easily accessible subs, 2 have subs on account-sites and 1 is paid. Their sites/accounts are linked.

I hope this will clear up some things and make it more easy for users to check for subs themselves without having to ask on here a lot. And yes you can watch fansubs before dramacool rips it if you put in the effort. Fansubbers will appreciate it a ton.

Cause the version you watched is a fansub dramacool ripped from a fansubber called rhizky17__. Which is a different one from the two previous fansubber teams they ripped it from for episodes 1-3. I've never watched their subs but I assume they made that opening themselves out of love for the show since Kieta Hatsukoi doesn't have its own opening song.

Slight correction on that:
That's usually when Dramacool takes the subbed episode from fansubbers without their permission. Dramacool is not translating this show themselves and is also not involved with any fansubbing team translating the show.

All the subbed episodes on the dramacool sites are either from the larger fansubbing team with this logo in the lower left-corner: ✎ღ or icedragontmr who posts their subs on their Tumblr blog (credits at the end of the video).

Yeah my previous one was Cherry Magic but I thought it was time to change it up since Kieta Hatsukoi was gonna be airing around the same time. Had a good feeling about the show

I get your fears and I know the Johnnys reputation all too well. However, there is one thing that keeps my good faith for a kiss alive. And that thing is ''Be Love (2020)''.

People thinking that this is Johnnys first BL show are mistaken. There was one before and that one did include a kiss (watch the trailer). Yes it may be deadfish kiss but it's there. It wasn't a popular show internationally because availability was very limited, the story wasn't great and it was very short. Less than 2000 MDL users watched it which is less than the amount of people currently watching Kieta Hatsukoi (more than 6000). But it was a sign from Johnnys that they were willing to try.

So I do think there's hope. However, I do understand that in the end its up to whether the agency decides its ok for the actors yes or no. Even if they allowed it in the past it's not a guarantee for this one. However that's why I have a level of faith in this.

I do think its again important to state that of course it will not be more than 1 kiss max because that's kinda expected at this point. Japanese BLs can be compared to KBLs in terms of expectations for intimacy, although of course a KBL is a guarantee for a kiss while a JBL hasn't always been.
