Watched episode 1 raw. Definitely a fun show in episode 1, that manga of hers also looked adorable with the artstyle. Main lead is definitely interesting enough to follow too. I feel like I'm gonna experience some cringe in ep 2 but it'll be worth it from what I've seen.
Well, since its bodyswap its a difficult case. Some would still consider this BL (since it's male bodies) but others won't. Also we don't know the ending yet.
I'm really not a fan of BL (I mean I don't hate them) but I really don't know why there are lots of people who…
BL is a bit of a personal preference, some can grow to like it and others won't be able to get into it. However, I also think that even if you're not a BL fan you can grow to like some BL productions for just having an enjoyable story.
Based on your watchlist you seem to enjoy the supernatural + romance genre. You've also seen other dramas of Akaso Eiji and Machida Keita (the main characters of this drama) before. So I definitely think Cherry Magic (this drama) might be a good first show for you to try out the BL genre.
Just like straight romance dramas these BL dramas are also very diverse. 2gether and Love By Chance are very different from this drama. You may prefer some types of BL dramas but you kinda need to try a bunch of them to find that out. Like for example BL dramas from different countries can be completely different in their vibe. If I were to give you a list of samples to try out the BL genre with consideration to your previously watched dramas...
1. Japan - Cherry Magic 2. Korea - Color Rush 3. Thailand- Lovely Writer 4. Taiwan- We best Love
I just saw the BTS footage of a short trailer of this jdrama and that was enough to convince me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X23S_E7nlUs This certainly isn't BL but it will have moments.
It was an interesting event which included Akaso and Machida reacting to episode 1 and watching extra footage of Cherry Magic (from the Blu-Ray) like the 3 minute ad-lib and the amusement park scenes. They also played a game of guessing and finally read each other a letter they had written.
Unfortunately, that is all that young gay people will see "represented" of gay (male) life in this series: struggle.…
''I don't think I ever said "I only wish to see wholesome and light stuff". No, I certainly did not say that.'' Yeah and neither did I say that you said that. I'm just giving advice in the case that was your preference as we have not communicated beyond simple comments. If it isn't your preference then just ignore that.
I guess the final message of the show is left up to interpretation. Do we believe that the main character is ready to embrace himself based on the journey he went through? Throughout the show we sam him trying to hide himself by fitting in and being insecure. The confidence of his voice and his happy appearance when he stands up does tell me that he did come out for who he is. But again, left up to interpretation so if that's not the final message you took away from the show then that's fine too. I'm just sharing my viewpoint.

But here's a list of Japanese BLs sorted by year:

The drama is showing no signs of slowing down though with the mom stabbing the twin now.
