The drama basically divided the community into those who loved and those who hated the ending. Definitely interesting to read the different views on it though.

Overall still loved the experience but I can't believe I've seen Chinese series who deal with strict government censorship of all dramas be more free with the topic. Just really weird to think about and taught me where mainstream Korean tv is at again.

Likely Shunsuke unless Senka travels back to Edo all of the sudden. Shunsuke has been in tsundere love with her for the past couple of episodes. They're really building up to them being together.

The boss guy will likely end up with the female worker. The samurai will likely end up with the sister of Shunsuke. This at least seems to be what the drama is building up to.

Same question could be asked about Chinese series I suppose. I can still enjoy something despite obvious censorship. Even if we don't consider that whole thing, I still wouldn't like the way things quickly wrapped up. Just a personal opinion of mine but I still love the series overall.

I'm a BL fan so I know the struggle very well. We can demand a lot as international fans but in the end its still kdrama made for the Korean public. If the Korean public doesn't want to see something then it won't appear. Sure kdramas get an income from international fans but they'll always consider their own country first.

All you can really do at this point as an international fan is support Korean webdramas that do feature LGBT. And trust me, us BL fans have already been doing that from the second the first Korean BL drama was announced in 2020. I will list all the ones here for others to check out, pretty sure I ordered them in the order of their release.

No he just kinda laid there for the entire duration of the show until he got his running scene at the very end.
Kim So Young was still secretely hiding in that queens body (we knew the So Youngs emotions were influencing him but apparently her whole soul was there) and waiting for the right moment to pop out and romance the king.

XD that description though! But yeah final episode DEFINITELY isn't for everyone. Some may love it and that's fine, but for some others it can be a slap in the face.

Real queen returns to her body. Chef is back in modern day and single.

They are in for a marriage of convenience but he doesn't love her at first. He starts liking her in a slowburn, after he regrets attempting to kill her which is a few episodes in. It's difficult to find an exact point on when he starts liking her as its a gradual process.
He never realises its someone else in her body.
Girl gets back in body completely at final episode.
The guy takes over the girls body. The girls soul is still in there but only subconciously affects him.
Happy ending for the original girl and the king yes.

THIS !!!! Especially after seeeing the ending I feel like this even more, a sense of loss. I wish dramas actually showed ancient women being a bit like Mr Queen WITHOUT them having to be possessed by guys. It's so much more fun to see unique characters like this who find their own identity that doesn't match the masculinity/femininity expectations of the era. Don't get me wrong I loved Mr Queen but considering the ending I think its a valid point to bring up. The show had tons of fun female characters but we all loved the main lead most because of her uniqueness.

As for actual gay stories, I think we will have to wait quite a few more years for that one. Korea just simply isn't ready yet to go beyond webdrama BLs/GLs. It seems they really want to stay on that bromance/sismance-only path.

Truth that fall was insanely high. Also loving how his muscles apparently didn't get affected all that much by days of laying completely still. Muscle atrophy? Never heard of it.

Yeah but those are webdramas, mainstream tv in Korea still avoids the topic like the plague.

Ohh yeah that's a classic CM fanvideo on bilibili! The best part is that the song uses ChuChu as a name in the song and that sounds like Akasos Chinese name. Really fitting ^^

Ohh if this was your first BL drama then you basically started out with one of the most highquality ones! I don't think we will see something like this again for a while.

Byung In Noooooo!!! I never grew to hate his character and liked him a lot. I know some people dislike him but I really enjoyed his character and had hoped for a brighter future for him. T__T

And to think this all wouldn't have happened without a Supernatural BL fanfic about werewolfs. I guess ideas spread like that. For those unaware, the author of the novel stated that colorverse (this shows concept) was inspired by omegaverse.
