I think they shouldn't have get back together. It would have been very sad, but better. Or...don't make them break up in the first place. Make them talk and sort things out. Either way, I felt the end was so-so.
What a beautiful drama! I loved the slow and melancholic pace and atmosphere of it. I loved this romance between two mature people. I also really liked the subject matter. I have seen and enjoyed many movies having deaf characters, but this is the first time I have watched an entire series where the deaf character is the main one. I liked how the show tackled the issue. While I felt it romanticised deafness at times, overall I think it did an excellent job showing all kinds of difficulties deaf people face, but also how they can have and do regular things like everyone else. For a drama to be great, it needs to have very strong side characters and sub-plots. I believe this drama achieved it. Secondary romances were cute, and even the ex-girlfriend was a good dramatic character, and I thought the speech she gave in the last episode was very moving (to me at least). The leads were great. I am seeing the FL for first time. She has such a soothing voice, and calm demeanours. ....and it has my favourite Kdrama Mum: Kim Mi-kyung.
I do have certain level ofdissatisfaction (will add in the spoiler) with the end, but nothing major to ruin the drama. I don't give high scores easily, but this gets 9/10 fro me.
I am putting this on indefinite pause. I just have such low emotional investment in sub-plots and side events I don't feel compelled to sit through almost 90mins episodes. Essentially the sub plot is about two sides that I hate. I don't care who gets Queens. If this was at least balanced by some depth with compelling characters and interesting dialogues I might have watched, but alas that is not the case. I might go back to it when it ends so I can FF watching. It depends on my mood.
*Gets in a relationship with deaf person**realises person is deaf*surprised pikachu
I beg to differ. I feel that you are trivialising. It is not that she "realised" that he is deaf. But, as they say, the devil is in the details. One thing is to know something intellectually, it is completely different thing to experience it.
At no point was this male lead evil. In episode one, his motivations were explained and we even saw him go to…
Feel free to believe whatever you like. However, I thought the point of this message board is to see what other people think and engage in a discussion with them. Your attitude towards people with different opinion doesn't allow for that. You are dismissive towards me, and attributing my intepretation as affection towards the actor, but you are seeing yourself as the "correct" one. Anyway. Have a good day.

Well.. would you allow at least that other people interpret things differently?
We are all watching the same thing, but each of us reach their own conclusion. I don't think there is right or wrong. Personally, I don't think he is evil at all. You are also seem to conviently forget her behaviour. Just because she has illness, that doesn't make her faultless.
After Episode 5: This is good but the scenes are dragging a lot. I can't even remember how many times we have…
90 minutes is indeed a lot when there is not a lot of substance. I am not sure though that Hyun Soo family is that interesting. I feel the problem of this series is in its side characters, and sub-plots. It is not terrible, but not that engaging either. We are on E5, and I have already started using the FF button on the remote. But, when the leads are together on screen I am enjoying it a lot. I don't know what is the solution lol. I am not a writer. But, I know what I am watching is hitting only some targets.
Not if they are done, and written well. I mean the leads problems are ordinary as well. At heart, they are facing what many couples face, and they are on a journey of re-discovering their love. There are many great series with very ordinary problems. It is all about writing and excutions. I simply don't find the writing exciting, or engaging outside the main couple.
The end of episode 5 (not the epilogue, although that was cute, but I actually guessed it) was amazing. This was my favourite scene of the entire series. Finally, some heart to heart exchange with an excellent ending. I hope this should clear out the divorce thing even if she finds out like we all suspect.
I must say though, that the ending kind of papered over the cracks. The episode as a whole is not that great. It is too long, and a lot of it didn't hold my interest. The series continue to be a tale of two halves. When the leads are on, it is fantastic, but almost everything else is a meh. I wish this series was toned down in scope and running time. She could have been for example the owner of successful business (still richer and more powerful than him) with fairly regular family with regular problems. Then we would have a tighter and more focused narrative. As things stand, It is much closer to 7 than to 8.
After 8 episodes I think this drama would have been much more known if it was on Netflix. I am loving the tone, pacing, and the message of it. And the romance is SO nicely calm and heartwarming. I just hope that one day the ML role would be played by a deaf actor.
After 6 episodes I am really liking it. A romance for the grown ups. Also, watching this one, you don't only pick up some korean, but korean sign language as well. Who says that watching dramas is waste of time? lool
Wow!!!! I know people drop it or don't like it because its slow. I actually really enjoyed it!!! I binged this…
This series needed to be slow in my opinion. This was its strength. The dialogues and inner thoughts are amazing. This writer has an amazing way with words, and we are reading subtitles. This must be even better in original.
In case you haven't watched her masterpiece "My Mister", then you must do.
Yes.I also loved the growing affection between the Queen and her maids.
I just wish they had more of the Queen trying to seduce hwajin..lool. That would have been such a comic gold. Everytime I remember the "Pyjama party" invitation I can't stop laughing.
Of course that is based on the assumption that everyone logs the drama they watch. Also, there is a ton of juvenille behviour here. There is nothing stopping anyone to create multiple accounts to manipulate the data. And possibly other things.
So, in conclusion, I would say these stats shouldn't be taken too seriously. Just a very rough idea.

I had a similar reaction when I watched My Liberation Notes.

She was my favourite in this series.
That scene was SO out of character and out of tone, it is very jarring.
But, hey, I guess the guy was trying worship her lol.
Everytime I remember the "Pyjama party" invitation I can't stop laughing.

I think lots of characters that are interesting in dramas you don't want to have much dealing with them in real life lol.
