I cannot seem to find it with English subs myself either. Instead I've started watching the sequel which is on…
From what I've heard, you can start season 2 and still follow it quite easily without ever being confused. I've read up a little on the Warring States period before and I think that's making it easy to understand the show from the very start.
I thought I should check it out as it seems impossible to find season one in English :(
I wish you all the best in finding it with English subs.
I've seen the first 20 episodes and I can say that this award winning masterpiece is hands down the best drama on Netflix right now! The attention to detail is second to none and the acting is phenomenal.
The story is based around China's civil war between the Communist Party and the Nationalist Party, but a unique aspect of the show is that it isn't portrayed as a battle between good vs evil, but instead a contest between idealists who view things differently.
Both sides worked really hard towards improving their country and it gives the viewer an insight into how difficult those times were post war.
The show is very engaging and there is never a dull moment.
Overall, a good political based drama that made you constantly question the morals and actions of it's characters…
I have just completed this drama and I have to agree with you on the point you made on Kim Jay. I felt he was plain throughout and added no real value to the show.
He was recruited to film a documentary on a Presidential candidate; which he did for approximately 3 episodes.
He even moves into his fathers house, but we no longer see him with his camera lol! Instead he just hangs around the office looking clueless every time ...or he would spend his days chasing his step sister lol!
Another thing that was so frustrating was the character of Wang Ji Hye, she spent the entire 20 episodes saying "Yoo PD" lmao!
As a matter of fact, I became sick of everybody shouting "Yoo PD"
it's on Netflix now! I'm tempted to pick it up again ( I watched 8 episodes of it like last year and…
I've got this on to plan to watch. I know it's off topic, but there is a newly added drama on Netflix called "All Quiet in Peking", it's an excellent and highly addictive drama set after the World war with a solid cast. I thought it might be of interest to you since one of the leading actors is Wang Kai, the guy in your dp lol!
Netflix just added this to their library. They have it titled as "King's War" in case anyone is…
The quality looks great! Have you started watching it and is it worth watching? I probably wouldn't start it yet as I'm currently watching "All Quiet in Peking" on Netflix which is a brilliant drama and highly addictive.
I can tell from your lame comment and how you judged me from my one opinion that you really are immature. You must have been sleeping throughout both of the movies if you didn't notice the resemblance lol!
"Memories of the Sword" was inspired by Ang Lee’s "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".
