Yes. They couldn't leave those parts that were skipped because that would complicate things and it will take much more space to adapt them into the drama. So what it was skipped, you can imagine they will either skip entirely or they will just keep an essence of it. It's only normal. A drama will never have the amount of detail and depth of a novel except if they turn it into 500 episodes and that's just not possible. Novel readers will always have a sense of loss and drama watchers who read the novel after, might only find it too complicated. The script of the drama was brilliant and I'm sure the adaptation will continue as such. Season 2 can only bring good things.

If they didn't choose Huaiqing as the main female it means they will cut all the baby stuff, next emperor stuff, etc. I doubt the drama will have any babies in it but again....who knows ?
I know from the novel that the most important woman in his life was Zhenbei's wife, later a widow, and she wasn't even human, and she stayed with him till the end. I don't believe the drama goes that deep. That will be too much for the audience.
One thing is a book and another is an adaptation. As I said before, if an adaptation maintains the spirit and the core message is more than enough. Are you a novel reader before the drama was made or you read it after you watched the drama ?

I have no idea why you accentuated romance when it hardly even makes it for a secondary plot. I mean, after XQA, the guardians, the academies, even Loong is more on the center than the romance.
The only thing I could get from your message was novel vs drama adaptation so I will just write my comment based on that. As for the writer of the novel, he was ecstatic with the result. So, if the novel readers expect a harem...tough luck. If they preferred another character instead of Lin'an...tough luck. If parts were cut from the novel that they thought are crucial..tough luck. What can I say ? Tough luck.
As for TXW fans, they should support her decisions and her career. As a non fan, she definitely won me over. And where is one it will definitely be another. And another. If she lost 1 fan because of this, she gained 1 with me.

It must be. In my opinion is the only logic thing. We can be sure by giving it some time and check again. But right now, if this increase is due to red envelopes they should have unfollowed already. That small, symbolic prize is over. They wouldn't stick around if they came only for that. Also, with GOTD, DD won a lot of male supporters. This increase must be those male supporters.

The most money given was 120.09 yuan (16.55$).The smallest amount was under 1 yuan (0.14$). He had around 21 mil followers, if I remember well, before GOTD, now the no of followers are 22.555 mil. EDIT : reached 22.558 mil till I finished writing this message and checked again.

I don't know how the drama will spin this. When she appears as the fox, she looks exactly like Miss Fuxiang but her name and rank are different. It can be either Miss Fuxiang is a Kui, with a title and rank, either the Kui possessed her body and the one who possessed it is named and ranked like it was written on screen. I think it's the same actress and they will use the novel plot with her body being possessed by Kui.

In the last episode the drama took a different turn from the novel. The drama :

3. There are 3 main sects in Dafeng : Earth Sect, Heaven Sect and Men Sect. There are also smaller sects or subsects like : Realm sect, Treasure Sect, Witcher Sect. We don't know much about it except it is led by the Man in Black who has his own special magic power (Mystify spell), who is in a 1-1 game with the Supervisor (means he is very strong), and among many other things is XQA's father. His magic is shown in red color. More about this sect in season 2 as it was announced after the ending credits.
2. There was an arrangement between the Man in Black and Zhenbei + Emperor. Emperor is kneeled down by the appearance of the knife (it wasn't moved for ages except for XQA) probably realizing that not only the court is against him but also with the knife being moved that would mean more power in the hands of "his ants". That moment the red magic disappears and we see the Emperor how he truly is. Old and weak. Probably he was protected by the witcher's sect. Or maybe the man in black just took away the power. We know he is old from the episode with the imperial sword when he is using an instrument/magic to change his hair from white to black. we also known that he wants immortality. These aspects will be dealt with in season 2.
4. One of the most powerful enemies of Dafeng is the Kui. That girl is Yeji, 4th rank fox Kui who informs her master (also a Kui) about what is happening. She has a lot of info, about XQA and the fortune, about plans, which makes this Kui people very very well informed. They were also fooled by the Man in Black so at the end of season 1 they are just waiting to see what happens and what move they should make next. More about them in season 2.
Do not forget the drama took a different turn from the novel. The novel :

3. the man in black which leads it was the Supervisor's first disciple and XQA's father
4. the Kui posessed the body of Miss Fuxiang from the Music Centre in order to stay informed. The music centre is known for being frequented by people in strong places.

for a person who gave this drama 1/10 and marked it completed you might as well move along. What are you still doing here ? Looking to spread hate ? In ep. 19. And it is not ridiculous.
1. People talked about the Grand Princess as being intelligent, beautiful, kind, etc. All those qualities he saw in Princess Li'an so it never went through his mind that she is someone else.
2. He was mesmerized when he first saw Princess Li'an so you may say love is blind.
3. When he met Princess Li'an for the first time he knew from Senior Song that the Grand Princess is coming , so when she appeared he never imagined that this was another princess or the other princess.
4. Maybe he didn't even know how many princesses are there in Dafeng. He is from the modern world, after all.
5. None of his close ones knew he mistakes one with the other in order to tell him that. Only her attendants knew and they kept her secret.
6. Princess Li'an herself didn't know he confused her with her sister until later on when she already went too far in trying to convince him to serve her so she just grabbed the advantage.
7. Princess Huaiqing didn't interfere from obvious reasons - she avoided to humiliate her half sister in public because she was used with Princess Li'an doing naughty things and acting silly from time to time, so it wasn't a necessary move at that time.

It's very easy for a person like you who is watching from outside to think you could have done an obvious better job in guessing it. That's why it seems so ridiculous for you. Besides the fact that XQA had no clues to work with, I would like to tell you this (being the only reason I also wrote this answer):
