This was such a great show! It has a great message about how striving to live up to ideals can destroy your life and the lives of your family members. It's better to be grateful and content.
It also has a great message about casting away judgement because we're not as different as we may think. We're all capable of great good and great evil.
The other message is for families and how we often try to sweep our problems under the rug and then they end up surfacing in irrational behaviors. We should confront them and try to listen and understand things from others perspective. Also we should not childishly wallow in self pity, or live in unnecessary fear of not being accepted by others or living up to other's ideals.
And the cool thing about Japan is that they have a way of working all this in in a really poetic and artistic way without being too preachy. That's good cinema.
The drama in the show is intense. The acting is good. The music is good too. I don't think I've completed a drama this fast in a while. I pretty much marathoned the 2nd half and I haven't marathoned anything in a while.
Awesome! These are the dramas that should have won the awards. I've seen all of them except Yakou Kanransha, but I plan to watch that soon. They were all excellent tho. The only one missing is Saikou no Rikon.
