ML left his master at the age of 13. How could he survive by himself at that age?
I thought the same at first, but later I saw my misinterpretation. He won his first championship at 13, but left at 16. He mentioned it in one of the later episodes. I don't remember which one, though.
in the beginning she is actually 21 years old and he is 27. At some point I think she points out their age difference of 6 years.
She has never had a boyfriend before LYY. Same goes for him. So... there are a lot of things for them to discover and to learn. Put the demands of the sport on top of that and I think that explains quite well why there is, in the beginning, the seeming lack of skinship. The drama has toned it down somewhat. The books have more skinship. :)
The leads have incredible chemistry and their progression is so good. But the show drags for way too long tbh…
Honestly curious here: What made it feel, for you, that the show drags way too long? What (type of) scenes could have been left out? What was it that annoyed or bored you?
Nope. There is another guy (one from YG group) who is interested in YG, but she's not interested in him. Also there's another woman who's interested in LYY, but he's not interested in her.
I don’t know how to move on from this drama and I don’t understand why people are saying this drama is boring…
I completely agree with you! I have a hard time moving on as well. I found the pace really enjoyable. Not too fast, not too slow, just exactly right. People who find this series boring are missing all the subtle nuances this series has shown!
Oh my, I really have a hard time letting this one go. I keep rewatching my favourite scenes and episodes! I LOVE the ending! Glad to see that at least two of male leads got their HEA in marriage. MXD & Lin Lin perhaps also have their HEA but not married?
I can easily picture Wu Lei and Zhao Jin Mai in another series (modern/Wuxia/fantasy) as a future couple again and perhaps with some kids?
I think I'll be rewatching this series for several times. It's hard to move on from this one!
i haven't read the novel but those who have read it said that when they are in China it will happen. don't know…
Actually it already happened before that in the novel. It happened in France (or rather, Hawaii in the novel). And before that there was already more/deeper intimacy in Finland (or rather USA in the novel).
Can we take a moment to admire Meng Xiao Dong for his great sportsmanship?
I completely agree! At first I was afraid he would be a huge problem, but it turns out he's actually very supportive, both on a personal level and in the sport. I love that in a man.
Something and Anything (episode 30 :D )

Personally I found the pace perfect :)
