It seemed like he was able to roam freely for 6 months after his dad erased everybody's memory of him. Why didn't…
They do not remember him (except Lin'An, a little bit). So imagine a stranger walking up to you and insisting he's your beloved nephew, or one of your most valued juniors, or the person who's been trying to teach you some chemistry, or just a Silver Gong but you just forgot about him... They would think he's crazy.
And the spell seems to continuously correct memories - it erased everything there ever was in the Dafeng about him, what proof could he even begin to show that he existed and he's the one he says he is? Until the spell is broken, they won't remember.
...But since the spell WAS broken in Chuzhou, it means it can be broken for XQA too and that's hopeful for returning to his place among his family and friends.
Quote: First of all, as a woman myself, I'm surrounded by many amazing women who often help and encourage one another. The so-called 'female rivalry' that people talk about is something I see more on the internet than in real life.
She's very lucky in her environment and friends then, and I am happy for her. My own experience - and a lot of others', I'm sure - is quite different. (And I don't even mean it in the "romantic rivarly" kind of way.) Women are just as competitive as men, but also tend to deal in a transactional manner with others (women OR men), particularly in a business setting (including employment), trying to create networks of "debtors" (moral or financial, it doesn't even matter) to secure something for themselves. And it's not even something extraordinary, this IS the way women have had to survive since the age of civilisation. We're weaker than men and can't actually fight physically, so we just normally started transacting mutual favours, deal-making, building up for-personal-help networks and such. And some are more ruthless about it than others. TBH, there seem to be golden times throughout history when a more community-minded attitude prevails, but more often then not it's just a dog-eat-dog world out there, among men AND women. Hard times make it harder to be kind toward others. Pretending the world is happier or fairer to everyone than it actually is doesn't help.
This is real life. Friendship and genuine uninterested helpers also abound, being focused on your own interest doesn't mean you can't be kind and help others or that you are forced to fear them for undercutting you. That part is way too drama-specific, LOL. Or maybe I am just not rich enough to care only about my own good (according to the types of female characters I've watched in dramas), LOL.
So is this supposed to remain a total pity party, or is it freaking supposed to be inspirational?! ... I must…
So, STILL AGAIN all the adults in his life SUCK. EVERYBODY. There's NO ONE on his side. And every time the plot deals him a little hand of maybe-get-better, no, they hastily tear it down immediately.
WHY the f*ck?! There are only two eps left, there's NOTHING that can save this now.
She had the accident - I don't wish her dead, but I felt zero empathy for her. Shim JinWoo's breakdown had A BILLION times more emotion than her empty eyes pretending they care for BOTH of them. Like - WHAT??? She's basically transferring the guilt to her son - I DID IT FOR YOU! - DAFUK, woman, isn't destroying his life ONCE, ENOUGH???
She just made him guilty of JinWoo being sold and ending up on that bathroom floor totally lost. In the name of loving him. How dafuk does that even make any sense?!?! She's supposed to be smart. Isn't she?!
IS THE WRITER CRAZY?! DID THEY MEAN TO WRITE IN A CRAZY MOTHER FUCKING PEOPLE OVER IN THE NAME OF WHATEVER IDIOTIC IDEAS SHE HAS THAT DAY?!!
So now the kid has his factory, how does she imagine he could feel about it when he finds out how it was actually bought?! He's totally right - how could he ever be happy when he SOLD his friend over it? (Even if it was never HIS intention. She just pointed at him and made him take the blame, immediately after he got the second biggest shock of his life, watching his friend bleed on that fucking bathroom floor. No wonder he can't freaking sleep. Could YOU, if you were at least partially freaking HUMAN?!)
I won't hear that idiotic noise about this being the truth of the industry - again, if I want raw deals, I'll watch a documentary on it.
This whole drama sums up as "look at what adults do in the name of money to kids they're supposed to care about, love and nurture". Everything, EVERYTHING's allowed.
Did the freaking husband HAD to have her imagine her NOT having lived her own life, NOT having made her own path, NOT having done anything just to make her feel a little, tiny bit of empathy in JinWoo's plight? And it's STILL over his talent, she was all ready to board that plane and go in her vacation while he was going to be booted out and sold to the pimp in order to suffer for the rest of his life - whatever would be left of it - IN HER FUCKING PLACE!!!!
If I were him, TBH, I'd not have just tried. I'd have succeeded by now. That's the only part of the drama where the veil falls. Someone so abused, who was abandoned by everyone he ever loved or trusted, wouldn't have made it that far. Except in dramas.
So yeah, I'll finish this, and the young cast does great, but EVERYONE from each adult character to the drama writer, director, producer etc - is doing EXACTLY what the freaking pimp does, presenting a sob story for people to amuse themselves with, WHY THE FUCK DID THEY PRETEND THIS WAS EVER GOING TO TURN AROUND AND BE ACCEPTABLE?!
End of ep2, he's like "oh shit there are female members of the species we're totally screwed" LOL. Virgins, what can you do :D
Geon Yeop will be the one with the past and trauma right? Because Ga Min is a total sweetheart, I'm already in his camp, bags, cats, hot chocolate and all. And I wouldn't throw Se Hyeon out either :D
Next week, let's meet the girls :D
ETA OMG just checked the cast, KIM MIN is in this one?!!!! Gimme!!!!! Pasin, where have you beeeeeeeeenn (and what did you do with MinHye LOL)
After the first ep, I only want to know who's last on the studying ranks, LOL, he's the penultimate one hahaha~ (and last on the fighting top UNTIL NOW :D)
(I have two exams next week, I'm procrastinating like crazy, this drama is THE perfect solution LOL).
Ep 3 put me to sleep three times (on different days) before I managed to finish it (I am not joking.) At least now Wang Ye is here, I'll just muddle through for him, if nothing else.
Thoughts so far: the new Zhu Ge Qing is cute, but the older one had charisma and was much more pleasant to watch in action. The plot is needlessly convoluted and the team is too uninformed. I don't care about any of them other than Zhang ChuLan and BaoBao. I have zero interest in Chen Duo's problem. I didn't think there was any way I wouldn't like an Yin Fang character, but here we are (like why the f should I care about his cult?) The platinum blonde guy is too annoying with his fake smile. The only one I still almost kind of like is ZiZai.
I guess I'll be taking this slowly then.
PS Someone must've asked the director how much slo-mo does he want and the reply was "yes".
I've been here for nigh on 5 years. It doesn't end.Take your medicine: read the novel. There's a three-season…
I keep telling people... The least censored part of any of the adaptations of MDZS is the audio drama. They do sound effects... and they included the actual last scene of the novel, before the extras, LOL. So keep faith and listen to the audio drama :D (yup, including "Everyday means everyday" LOL).
And - there are HUNDREDS of danmei novels already translated, some of them even officially, out there. They kind of fed my addiction for the past few years (though I admit I had an early start with yaoi manga anyway).
Here to complain about the fact that this drama broke me in december. No, it ruined other dramas for me. Any advice…
I've been here for nigh on 5 years. It doesn't end.
Take your medicine: read the novel. There's a three-season (finished) donghua series. There's an (ongoing) manhua. There's the audio drama (very good). There are the thousand FMVs on youtube. ETA There's the MDZS Q series too. (We all needed diabetes anyway).
Have u watched his short drama called Love your enemy? Where he plays a chaebol with a high school sweetheart…
Then, to qualify it, the present wrecked state of the world is too pervasive to even consider a trauma-focused drama (even if they miraculously save everyone).
Yes, sorry but delays happen all the times precisely because they are quite too many to edit or approve. As for…
OMG IT'S YOU!!!!!! You're to blame for making me watch Our Beloved Summer, LOL. I READ that article and you made the drama sound so interesting (because of the music, I'm also one to be VERY easily caught in the music of a good drama, or even of a bad drama, I don't care, if the music is good), I went and started it, had a really good backwind for about half of it... then the wind went out of my sails and I struggled SO hard to go through, LOL (it's not even funny hahaha~), but I just couldn't finish it.
Give me back my 14 hours! :D (Just kidding, but yeah, the truth is I didn't finish it. That one really became like watching paint dry by the last quarter of it and I couldn't do it.)
But it IS a win for the article that it did make me try the drama out :D

2 YEARS?! Oh wow. There are no words. All you writers for MDL are really dedicated to the task, and I congratulate you for your fortitude (and patience!!)! (I won't even write reviews myself, LOL, too much trouble). Keep up the good work!

AND the actual sword of the Dafeng Emperors was in Duke Zhenbei's hand when the Kui tribe came. That wouldn't happen accidentally.
