Have u watched his short drama called Love your enemy? Where he plays a chaebol with a high school sweetheart…
That one I never intended to watch - lovers who broke up then reunited decades later was the theme of almost every other romantic drama last year, LOL, and just the synopsis was enough to get me to pass. But just to make sure I just went to watch the trailer and... I am really surprised (in a bad way). That's not even a pretend-trailer. I'd rather re-watch some parts of Jirisan again :D
After Jirisan, I would've watched a doco with JJH watching paint dry. But then came Blood Free and that desire is now almost completely dead. And TBH the world itself is kind of a wreck right now, I don't really need more trauma even if fictional...

I don't know, but it's possible. It looked like he suddenly lost a lot of qi - either because of the presence of the Second Master's pen/knife that did something to him... or maybe it was just something the warlock (XQA's dad) did to him because he could, and maybe to take a little revenge or show him who's in charge still.
Then again, knowing the Emperor, it might've been something he did or planned himself, because he thinks a few steps ahead and decided it was the right move for whatever reason.
The drama sounds interesting, did anyone here watch the Chinese movie version or read the manhwa? Is it full romance or do they actually have some supernatural things in it too?
Spin off the story about yang qian huan… lol is it necessary? 🤣🤣
They could use it to explain a lot of the Bureau and the Supervisor's backstory so that if/when GotD2 hits, they could cover more novel plot instead of using eps to talk about how things work in the Dafeng.
Someone please explain, what is the point of making everyone forget XQA? Because I don't understand
No matter what, if - at least - the Emperor remembered him, he'd die. He doesn't have a high enough rank as a fighter yet, the Emperor could always just make others do his work and kill him ASAP, for any reason at all, or worse, kill his family and friends. BECAUSE HE CAN. Just look at poor righteous Mr. Zheng.
So the mystify spell was kind of inevitable, come to think of it. Otherwise, despite his heroic act, XQA AND everyone whom he holds dear would die as soon as the Emperor could make it happen.
Now, IF/WHEN he destroys the effects of the spell - as they did with the mystify spell in the city - he would probabaly do it only when he's a very much higher rank or has some other means to actually fight the Emperor at the same level.
Nigga think he's invincible rushing to the palace like that was so childish the director of that scene is a joke…
They do show some desperation to engage, LOL. The best is just... not to give them that engagement. If they were in earnest, they'd discuss arguments in favour or against their opinion, but when it's just ad hominem, their true colours show, so why even bother? :D
... Other than that, dammit, it's been two days and I still can't click onto some other drama. GotD has some scary staying power...
Anyone know why many Cdramas stick the landing better in the second half than Kdramas?🤔 SO many 16 Episode…
It's a selection bias, though, trust me. Watch enough cdramas and you'll see not all of them stick the landing. just the great ones. Happily, there are plenty of those.
Luckily you haven't watched (yet) too many of those that keep ending in tragedy for the sake of tragedy, LOL, and you're left wondering where the heck did that train that hit you came from :D
And it happens EVEN with some of the great ones, LOL (won't tell you which, 'cause I recc'ed some of them and I want you to feel the pain, too, hahaha~)

Don't feed the troll. Someone who created an alt account just to diss on this drama isn't someone you can argue with, they're here just to throw dirt because their own favourites aren't doing as well.
Let them be, they're just nobodies thinking they're doing some mighty work behind a screen, LOL. Just block them and move on. (Also report all offensive comments).
I'll be honest, her character does not improve a lot. I skipped all of her scenes and her character does not bring…
Are you both kidding? Did you even see the kisses? No chemistry, like... seriously?! LOL.
As for her part or importance in the plot - yes she's the love interest, but also she's the one who actually DOES something to force her father to do better. Nobody else in the imperial family even tries to, not even Huaiqing.
To XQA defense, the book cannot be wholly put into a motion picture and the drama has tried its best to deliver…
Haven't read the book, have no opinion on how it differs from the drama. IN the drama, though, they repeatedly underscored the sword tactics he's learned - one-strike-kill and if that doesn't work, run.
I think they did better to have him use one (and a few more when the enemy is already down) strike instead of a long series of hits that he can't sustain. Even with Shen Shu and the book's help, he's not even close in fighter ranks, so how could he brawl with such an overpowered enemy?! It took the three of them to just get the duke down. It would've been more amazing (and hard to believe) to have XQA suddenly get to 2nd rank - needed to kill the duke - so easily and for a long period.
And then Shen Shu is totally quiet for a long time (he doesn't return by the end of the season), the book is fried, XQA takes a week to barely function. Going by his normal power, that's more acceptable, IMHO.
Because the story is so long and convoluted, one season and 40 episodes cannot cover them all. When I checked…
There are seasons that weren't really planned for successful dramas - like the second season of Under the Skin, that was only hoped-for and then bam! - one day they announced it'll start airing, and it came in under a week after that.
I'm still waiting for the second season of Be Reborn, but there's still a chance for it.
And then there are some - like JoL - that are planned three seasons in advance.
I'm not watching the drama, just commenting - shouldn't this be under 'Editorials' instead of 'News'?

Oh well.
LOL. We're all the way into Copeland.
