TBH, I don't watch a drama just for the leads (or generally the cast), but mostly for the plot and character progression. I dropped dramas with actors I liked and kept with dramas with unknown (to me) actors, so I don't really have a horse in this race. I just don't really appreciate gatekeeping of any kind.

Let people enjoy what they like, it isn't hard. Or if they're annoying, block them and move on, or skip over the comments. We're each of us different and like different things and that's just life :)

I don't think it's that simple. I think HE went to send Wei Yan's message threatening the whole family and so Mr. Fan thought the only way to save his girls was for him and his wife to die officially and in the open, so that WY stopped looking.

It didn't work, 'cause he sent the world's-least-secret secret assassins anyway. But General He then gave him the secret letter with the secret contents and it all blew over. Which makes one wonder - why not give it to him in the first place, if that's all it took? Maybe with-or-without secret letter, WY would have still sent assassins to the Fan dad.

I think the cough is from being exposed to that fire and then drowning before she saved him. It probably affected his lungs, doesn't mean he's going to die because of it.

Though if wuxia dramas taught me anything, bad breathing should influence his fighting power. I hope it comes in handy when he gets wasted as he deserves.

WDYM LOL, Zhuge KongYun was also kind of crazy. I suspected him throughout the whole drama but he and his dramatic hairstyle eventually morphed into friends with the ML.

The Untamed did it the same - a lot of foreshadowing and planting hints before the second arc. And they wrapped it all up in the last few eps, too. It's just a different kind of story - this one feels more like a historical and that one was danmei wuxia after all.

Deng Kai was in a good support role in The Wanted Detective, and I noticed him before in Follow Your Heart (I haven't yet managed to finish a short drama). He had support roles in regular-length dramas before, not just short form.

I don't know how he dies, but he deserves it. I hope they didn't write in a redemption arc. I mean, I seriously appreciate male beauty and even like a hint of crazy, but this guy is torturing his young son, killing people left and right, abusing his kid's mom (I can't call her any kind of "wife" or concubine to him since I don't think she's that to him).

If he and his brother don't both die, then there'll be riots.

As for the actor - yes Deng Kai is fire, let's have him get more good roles to show off his skill!

The little kid killed me this ep - I seriously hope they have some emotional coach there because that little boy looked definitely afraid and in shock and I know they're actors, and they would probably go through scenes so that the kids know it's play/acting... but he made me afraid for him. I wish QianQian never saved that insane ungrateful's ass in the first place.

What's the old nanny's business though? She acts more like the Custodian of Imperial Blood than anything else, doesn't the crazy duo have actual crazy parents? Why is it on her to make sure he had a kid, and then to save that kid from his father?

And come to speak of old farts, WHAT THE HELL is Xie Zheng's old mentor doing in the freaking frontlines?! Sir, you're there, she's there, do a good thing and TEACH HER TO READ properly, then condense 20 years of classics' study into one or two months until hubs shows up, and make her READY to take over the household 'cause he DEFINITELY isn't able, what with being STILL so stupid.

So, her father (?) who wasn't Fan Erniu, killed himself - did he kill his wife too or did they kill themselves each on their own over Wei Yan's threat? Did these guys ever think of raising up their household, get their daughters and freaking FLEE?? I hate this trope so much. I mean, they're dead and their daughters (?) still aren't safe. And now they're parentless too. Drama tropes, lay off already.

I expected ChangYu to keep going to save kidnapped children - she did say she had a part in cleaning up more bandits lairs but she should have kept doing it.

PS Li HuaiAn is SOFT. He never deserved her anyway. Let him pick another wife. QianQian is going to be free in a while - though I expect she had enough of noodle-spined men already. Oh well. Girl power.

Though I expect she's not doing it that convincingly to Qi Min, he already thinks she's a liar, why would he start trusting her out of the blue? I just hope she doesn't get another Sui heir in the process of steaming hot scenes - what, were the censors asleep AGAIN?
