Just started... Is that a priest in the beginning? Who's crucifixing a guy?
Yes, it seems it's a flashback to the past of one of the refunded kids. Each of them have trauma from their adoptive parents, and this one indeed seemed to be a priest or at least some religious fanatic torturing his adopted son.
Why does this drama's c/rights claim for it to have been made sometime in 2022 or maybe 2023 at most?! Did it spend so much time being re-edited or finding a network?!
He also played a (perverted but not really all that smart) villain in the first season of The Good Detective. He's one of the good actors - the kind who disappear into their characters every time.
Every time he's in a drama, you know HE at least will give his 100%. I almost want to watch TGB for him, LOL. But that first half of the first ep that I did watch was... off-putting (and he wasn't even in it yet IIRC). I don't know. Maybe I'll try again.
Replying to the title question - to quote Chen QianQian, the heroine of The Romance of Tiger and Rose, it's because the ML belongs to the heroine/FL, the second lead is for everybody else LOL. So we invest all the time and interest in someone who's more accessible.
To add to that - they usually make the leads pretty monochromatic, LOL, whereas the SMLs aren't so simple all the time. The really good dramas/stories that involve SMLs make them equally important and give them reasons to be in the picture for more than the FL's love, so we also invest in them a lot.... But that kind of drama is pretty rare.
Welcome to the battlefield, errr, the shooting scene. LOLA kind of filler ep (with some extra action, I mean kissing,…
Another paralel to the danmei novel of Rebirth of a Movie Star - the whole attack sequence reminds me very much of the whole Chaos Street debacle in the novel, up to and including the jealous Thada/Qiu Qian for the kissing-the-heroine-scene, LOL.
I think Pond would do wonders were he to play Bai Lang. He already has it down, maybe someone in Thailand looks over that novel and gets the rights... *keeping fingers crossed*

A kind of filler ep (with some extra action, I mean kissing, no wait I mean action after all scenes.) But I liked it.
I particularly liked the way Armin/Pond kind of very subtly licks his lips whenever he's looking at Thada/Peterpan. There's something so sensual about it, I can't even explain it.
I mean, this Japanese version is really much better than the Korean version except for the end of the 8 episode,…
I mean, it's pretty obvious the way she told him the effects can't be evaded, only moved onto another person - he knows he also died ('cause otherwise how would he have come back to the past?!) and can't think of a way to avert that death. So he passes her on to the cook guy (I seriously hope he doesn't do that, but it sure looks like it) then goes to freaking [insert her homeplace, I forgot its name] to get on with it already before she falls more in love with him. Because that's one lackluster trope they didn't want to do without, the noble sacrifice, ugh.
And we know he died - because there was a flashback to the car falling off a bridge, and then the fact he also knows when she should've died and how, etc. So that's settled, I think (I haven't watched the SK version).
TBH, every time such an article gets published to show how well a drama goes in this-and-that place I can't help but wonder how bad it really is that they need to get some PR on drama sites to get people's attention.
LOL, I'm that person who still burns DVDs for safekeeping hahaha~ I got myself an external DVD-RAM and still buy blanks by the rack in order to save my favourite shows :D And yeah I know large TB SSDs are now around, but not at the rhythm I'm using up space. And I don't really trust external SSDs either, they're kind of flimsy and not as permanent as I'd like. So DVDs it still is - for me.
My uni had Win95 already when I started (also in '95), they were state of the art at the time (and I assume they only upgraded to maybe WinXP if at all, on those machines hahaha~) mIRC was the best!! I haven't gone down the IT lane (programming is HARD!) but yeah, those were the times. I'm appalled at today's gen who are called digitally native but can't boot up a laptop, LOL, they're all locked into a mobile OS of some kind and can only use those... We used to muck around the insides of a computer or laptop like nobody's business :) (Still able to, but got kind of lazy TBH in these past few years.)
I've even seen some external floppy drives being sold, I've no idea what they could be used for (I mean, what precious data still goes packed into 1.44MB sizes?!) But yeah, for this drama, if Ren and Narin and the stupid jealous lil' not-bro decide to lose some important info to expose their evil doings, they could still do it by sending someone a non-encrypted piece of it on a floppy disk :D
I used them in my workplace til around 2006 at least, LOL. We used to have the most ancient computers too. And no, we weren't working at the tax office :D (We also had the dial-up net til around 2007 at least. Yeah it was grrrreat using it. /s)
My first PC - damn expensive!! - in the beginning of the millennium still had the floppy drive (and a CD-ROM).
...When I'm counting back, it doesn't seem to be so long ago, but in real-life feeling, it's been ages. I forgot how bad we used to have it not all that way back, in internet terms.
Eww, was what Thiwthit proposing what I thought he was proposing?!
Soooo... are we going to see Crown in a liquidity crisis forced to sell off Armin's contract? 'Cause that would definitely suck.
PS I remember the Y2K crisis, LOL. What a big bag of nothing that was. (Also remember the 2012 fiasco. I was totally ready to see the end of the world as the Mayans knew it hahaha! Those apocalyptic movies were complete busts too :D)
ETA Shoutout to anyone still remembering Lance Eriksen's Millennium. I think that was the only good apocalyptic show running out towards the Year 2000.
ETA Also, watchers with much better vision than mine were ready to swear they can see LWJ's reflection in WWX's eyes.
Bromance, for sure, I'm convinced hahaha~

"Husband, I don't like the way she's looking at me."
"Husband, she touched me!!!!"
"Husband, I don't want my first time to be with her!!!!!"
Oh LOL, Li Yan, you didn't touch him yet? :D
... Wow, someone who CAN stop at 30 for now. LOL. I devoured this drama the first time, I couldn't have stopped for anything.
Yup. Totally straight. Nothing to see here, censors, move along LOL.
I don't have the slighest clue how this first ep made it past the censorship.
For an extra win, both leads look freaking hot. I am so in!
