The ending time line seemed off. Subs said "three years later" but suddenly Jiang Yang is married with a son who looks about 5 years old. Were the subs wrong, and the time skip longer? Also, kinda disappointing that Lin Lin/Meng Xiao Yue storyline was just left danging (wonder if Mo Bao Fei Bao is planning on a sequel with them). Would have been much better if he was the one at the end who was married and had a son...
What are the 2 cities in Episode 1 that they are supposed to be in? The subs say Hel and Hexion but the taxi drivers speak in English. The novel has them in the USA but I'm not aware of any cities named Hel and Hexion in the USA (plus the car license plates look European).
So did I miss where the Joseon ML's grandfather got held accountable for his misdeeds? I saw where the FL begged the King to change how they awarded government posts for "the virtuous woman." I just remember the King changing how that process would work, but don't recall seeing anything that indicated that the grandfather was punished. Did I miss something?
So this is a skin care commercial wrapped in a drama... Novel the drama is based on has over 2,000 chapters... that's a lot to cram into 16 four minute episodes, especially when the star of the show (the skin care massager) wasn't even in the novel...
hello MDLers, can someone spoil the ending for me? is it happy or sad?
Bittersweet ending, especially as it related to the Joseon era ML. Guess this was the directors way to give up both a "happy ending" and the "Globally popular sad ending". Should have been more creative and given both the Joseon era and present day MLs a happy ending or spent way less time in the final episode on the sweet Joseon era ML and the FLs repeated rejection of him. The present day ML & FL end up together.
Kinda bittersweet ending, especially as it related to the Joseon era ML. Since the present day ML was supposed to be his reincarnation (same soul) the FL lack of love towards the Joseon era ML was disappointing. Made you wonder what she loved about the present day ML since it obviously wasn't his soul. Final episode spent too much time on her repeated rejection of the Joseon ML, especially sad given his love for her. I hated the ending that they gave him. The writers should have been creative and found a way to make both the Joseon and the present day MLs happy.
Thought of another couple: Angelababy & Huang Xiao Ming (married 2015, divorced 2022) - co-starred in Crimes of Passion (2013) & You Are My Sunshine (2016)
Also Eric Mun was in relationships with (but don't think they were in any dramas or movies together) the following actresses: Eric Mun & Kim Hee Sun - dated 2002 - 2003 Eric Mun & Park Shi Yeon - dated 2005 - 2007
You definitely wrote well. I am currently on episode 16 and I can't stand any of these so called coaches tbh.…
The final 1/3 of the drama is better that the first 2/3. Less focus on the unlikable characters. The leads were the only thing that kept me watching this drama. The secondary romance was also cute. Last 2 episode were pure feel good. Definitely wasn't a 8.5 (the current MDL overall rating) drama for me.
