I probably should not have watched this right after the Life of Oharu. Looking for something mindless next.

This was a tough one to watch. I’d read that some of the characters were based on real interviews. Tougher to write a review for because this was also a work of art. It’s been a while since I’ve revisited this subject because it is so difficult and heartbreaking.

Brace yourself. The first few eps are spastic! 😄

I watched and deleted the top drama off this list and put it on my completed list for this VL. The FL tried my patience something fierce. The FL from Back from the Brink which seemed wildly popular on the feeds also annoyed me for much of the drama. 0-2.

Estelll talked me into watching Dong Lan Xue, a web drama that once you get past the first 3 episodes or so isn’t bad. Nowhere near TROP or NIF but also a quick watch with a lot of blood and a surprisingly sexy scene.

I don’t think I’d make it long either. 😄

The 40 episode drama? I thought the movie was too long.

This is a lost Ozu film, no prints survived. Not sure how someone rated it unless they are over 100 years old and saw it in the theaters in 1932.

“The whole thing reeks of a cheap and cheesy old low budget production.” My thoughts about this movie but I’m betting it had a decent budget. I watched a 1971 wuxia after this and enjoyed it so much more because the director didn’t use such wonky camera angles. Thanks for the heads up on SEL!

I started this movie because of the cast but within the first five minutes it had annoyed me so badly I was ready to toss something. I thought maybe I had missed key points by the movie's end. Even went back after I finished it to watch the first five minutes of exposition---again---but nope. (they had exposition dumps throughout the movie) Our synopsis is wrong and another one I found was wrong. Apparently, most people were confused by this movie! The waste of talent was criminal.

What are your thoughts so far on Snow Eagle Lord?

I couldn't make it through the first episode. The time traveler made me want to throw my laptop across the room. Does she die a slow terrible death by the second episode? Wasn't a fan of the fast awkward pacing. Does it get better?

Notes to myself about this movie. Big fat meh. So I get you. 😄
