I've not been able to find it anywhere, but did see a clip on youtube where he married another girl and she was their wedding photographer. Was that the ending or did they reunite as a couple themselves in the end? She was so sad in the clip I saw....
I'm British and I HATE sad endings too, especially BL sad endings - I always expect more from Thai BL dramas as,…
@RJ_Jacob101 -- Listen, it's good of you to reply at all - I know how RL can be demanding and it can't be ignored either. :)
Takumi is just the BEST movie series ever; I don't whether it's because it was my first foray into BL and so it has a special place in my heart.....but whatever the reason I've always loved it and especially the duo of DiaMao! 2 Moons is another favourite and apparently season 2 of that will be out later this year, someone said October....so fingers crossed. What the Duck? was good, but I have to say Takumi movies and 2 Moons are my go tos when I need cheering up. They just make my heart happy.
I'm so glad the series of My Bromance didn't have the same sad ending the movie did - oh my stars I cried so much! I have to say Taiwan and Thailand BL are my favourites, Japan's third and then Korea's before finally China's. I don't think we'll be seeing anything from China for a while if the new Modesty Laws I've seen on the net are right - but that's okay because the sad endings all the time were soul destroying. I'd rather them not do anything until such time as it's more open and the censors allow happy endings.
Apparently the Phillipinnes are VERY open about things and the overall attitude there, especially in cities, is very accepting - I was speaking to a Filipino resident recently so that's how I know. Their most famous actor is gay and is IMMENSELY popular; but I don't know about Vietnam and Malaysia. The latter is quite islamic now and I know they definitely don't accept the LGBT+ community at all; but Vietnam is quite closed off, though there are a few BL webdramas and short movies on youtube that appear to end well and have families that either support from the start or come around to their gay family, so it might well be positive overall.
I have high hopes for China in the future - when this president is gone then hopefully they will be more open to a more inclusive and accepting mindset. Being LGBT does not make you against your country; it just makes you a little different, but that's not a bad thing. I think if we were all the same the world would be boring to the point of causing death by indifference.
Oh your poor BF - it was bad enough it was my teacher, I couldn't imagine my mum doing it to me. I remember when I was 3 my father tried to get me over my fear of spiders by make me hold a big garden spider in my hand (I was tiny for my age - in fact I'm still a hobbit, just minus the hairy feet! - and so it was huge in comparison). He made me hold it so tight (with his hand over mine) that I squished it. I then fainted - my mum nearly killed him! lol! No it didn't cure my fear, it actually made it worse! XD
Try HIStory 2 - right or wrong - it's really good, except for the kissing. The 'goldfish lip bump (patent pending) just annoys me to hell and back. But clearly the younger actor was NOT happy with kissing another man so they had to work around it. lol! Did you watch any of HIStory 1? they were good - except for My Hero, that was too 'm'eh'.
I watched a Top Gear special where they were in Vietnam and the two things that struck me was the friendliness and kindness of the Vietnamese people and the sheer breathtaking beauty of their country. We kept stopping the dvd to look at the scenery - I completely lost interest in the programme and just watched what was going on around them! I would LOVE to go one day - but so far I'm still trying to get to Japan and South Korea! Not to mention Thailand too! East Asia is somewhere I would LOVE to live if I could.
I've started Advance Bravely recently, once I was reassured it wasn't bromanced to death at the end (which was threatened). So yes, I do think there's hope for China's BL yet. :)
Oh exactly - I often have the same thing happen; just when you think we should be left to go extinct, someone does something that makes your heart happy and you think...'well, there MIGHT be hope for us as a species yet'......certainly everything happening in Korea at the moment is looking hopeful. fingers crossed we don't blow ourselves and the planet to atoms any time soon! :D
Technically it's not release until 27th of this month. However, a few months ago China made a raft of new 'modesty…
The others are as bad - no one with tattoos allowed in the media, no hip hop musicians, no rap musicians, no couples who've 'illegally' lived together before marriage, no couples who had children before marrying each other and the wondrously awful catch-all of 'only those who are deemed to be positively projecting the best image of the People's Republic of China are to be used'....... These new 'modesty laws' came in 2 days after their president was granted sweeping new powers and made 'president for life'.....frightening isn't it?
OMG. I'm going to watch this only because of Park Seo Joon! He is one of my favourite actors. My most seen drama…
the one I've watched the most is She Was Pretty - he was excellent in that; I went from hating him and suffering serious SLS to loving him and wanting them to kiss! XD
They are PERMANENTLY banned from from being seen together jn public, Athena. I thought it was being together at…
Not as far as I know - but they were VERY supportive of the Chinese LGBT community, VERY keen to promote Addicted AND were part of the group who REFUSED to do the ending of the second season the Chinese censors wanted. Plus they'd become very close friends. Just SO, SO sad. T-T
So they are banned from ever being seen together in public. It's ridiculous, draconian and pathetic...but it's the new Chinese government under their 'president for life'. I mean when you see all their new modesty laws you see how ridiculous it all is. At least the boys are back to acting again which is nice.
yeah if this article is a success i am thinking of doing kimi wa petto and itazura next when I have watched the…
Ohh, those would be good subjects! I forgot about Kimi wa Petto.....that's had a few too hasn't it? I do love Itazura na Kiss though - I've watched them ALL, no joke! AND more than once, including the anime!! XD XD
Itazura na Kiss - 1 manga, 1 anime, 7 adaptations and counting .....STILL brilliant. Lol! Some mangas and animes can stans the constant retelling - even if each version isn't always good.
Anyone know whee I can watch the whole drama? Subbed would be good, but I'm happy with raw too. Sadly dramanice only has the first three episodes and it's driving me mad I can't watch more... THANK YOU!! :D
I thought the same when I read the synopsis but, watching the trailer (admittedly without subs), it looks different to Secret....which is good because Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum will own that drama as theirs for life.
However I do really like Zhang Han since I saw him him in Boss and Me; sadly a lot of his other dramas have only been watchable because of his and other cast members acting (stories were dire; A Different Kind of Pretty Man was the worst).
For this I actually got more of You are My Sunshine feeling from the rivalry of the two main male characters; at least in the trailer. Subs would've helped and would show I'm probably completely wrong! Lol! Definitely going to watch this though, it looks good. :)
So can someone confirm the two following queries I have - 1. Did he die on the train at the end (if so why did we have no warning he was even ill apart from the fall in the tunnel)? 2. Were they definitely related for sure? Seems to me a DNA test would be prudent because of the amount of lies there were already; I wouldn't be surprised if that was another one started by her mother and the abusive father? If the answer is yes to both these questions, then I can only say the writers wre some seriously twisted sadists because the lead couple were clearly completely, totally and utterly soulmates and in love. Definitely couldn't watch this again, i can't cry that much too often.
Maybe I didn’t look hard enough, but I cannot find this film online. Link please?
Technically it's not release until 27th of this month. However, a few months ago China made a raft of new 'modesty laws' - now, these are draconian to say the least, and one of them is that ALL LGBT entertainment is completely banned from that date and ALL the people connected with LGBT entertainment are also banned from working in China. So the likelihood is this drama will NEVER see the light of day. Sorry to be the bearer of such bad news.
And this is why I don't bother with Chinese BL.....not that there'll be any more because of the new 'modesty laws' one if which has banned LGBT entertainment and all those linked with it.
Someone had this on their BL list - but it's not BL; it's more a light bromance. A shame because, although it's a lovely movie, I think making it BL would've worked better.
