After 20+ episodes of buildup, the first kiss came with the immortal romantic line: “Want to feed you some pork” That pretty much sums up the writers’ understanding of romance. Beautiful visuals, a wonderful supporting cast, and an earnest performance from Miles, but the main romance felt like watching him court a very attractive lamp post. The female lead looked lovely in every scene, yet her expression toward the male lead rarely differed from the one she gave her parents, friends, coworkers, or the office furniture.
You seem much older than me. You are a law firm partner at such a young age. A true young talent. Whatt?!! Is…
Agreed, The written dialogues are truly subpar in this one. There is only one kiss and right before that the dialogue given to Miles is "want to feed you some pork". So unimaginative.
I saw this show up on Viki so I watched it since I recognized the FL from Sunshine By My Side. I've never seen…
In her casual moments, the sweetest FL eating with her mouth open, eating excessive junk and trashing the house, yup I too see the Korean elements - ;)
How refreshing it is to see such a pure and meaningful friendship between Zhan Zhao and Bai Yutang, one that isn’t defined by romantic interest m but by mutual trust, loyalty, and respect.
Reading your comment I realized that I am actually glad they didn’t explain anything about his previous wife.…
I fell even deeper in love with the show during the jealousy arc. It was amazing to see that although the ML was clearly jealous, what truly hurt him was that the FL never confided in him. He knew how unhinged his relative was and was genuinely worried that she could have gotten hurt, yet she never turned to him — neither as a lover nor even as a friend.
And finally, the way he openly showed how dejected and vulnerable he felt, laying all his cards on the table, was so beautifully done.
