WTF was that ending?! I want to recommend this but that ending was so damn melodramatic and idiotic that it took away everything this drama kinda established organically. URGHHHHHHHHH it definitely ruined the drama a little for me.
OK the rest of the drama aside - The synopsis makes this sound like some kind of superficial drama where a woman ping pongs between two men, but this was surprisingly more than that. I am not a fan of love triangles but I could really feel the way the FL's heart shifted from one brother to the next. It was pretty organic and not like those convoluted love triangles these days. I'm gonna say this for the nth time but they just don't make these kind of mature romances anymore, especially they don't show passion this way anymore.
Do I recommend this? Only if you're a fan of either of the leads.
I love your list! Can you recommend some more romances please?
Go check out my 90s dramas / movies list! Majority of the titles on the list are romances.

That turn in E10 though.. what's up with Jiro And Kasumi. is that regret and jealousy I see on your face when you saw Ryuichi and Hana? I wasn't expecting that. I love that the brothers fought it out though.
the flash backs were way too much and were just annoying to follow. Also her son and that girl were focus on way…
I agree on the flashbacks. Whoever hat edited it did a bad job for me IMO. Number of times, it took me out of what was going on in the present into a random flashback and then back into another. I didn't mind the son/Uta's story. RE: the pointless confess and run away with a time skip - I am not a fan of those tropes either. But I didn't mind it with this story, because I didn't find it pointless. I do think he had an overbearing sense of guilt in being unable to protect her and he was trying to be careful since she couldn't remember him. But he also probably didn't want to do anything to trigger it for her, fearing any bad outcomes / hurt for her.
I don't think this drama comes even close to how good Japanese dramas are. It's probably getting a lot of love because of the cinematography, acting and score. J dramas are known for their scripts and writing, which was unfortunately the most underwhelming factor in this.
If it was his dream to be with her and love her. Why did he turn her down and leave the country?
He didn't want to start anything with her without her knowing the past. And he was scared of telling her about the past, because he probably thought it would hurt her to know the way their last meeting before the accident was. He also had an overwhelming guilt that he caused the accident by walking away from her in anger. He couldn't protect her. He probably also feared that her feelings might change if she were to find out that he hid the past from her. That's what I think.
There were a number of times where the flashbacks could have been edited into the story better so that it would flow with what was actually going on. Putting that aside, this was a beautifully shot and acted drama filled with a lot of heart, yearning and nostalgia of a lost time. The soundtrack was freaking A1, and the characters were really grounded and had great chemistry together. I rooted for all of them. This was no masterpiece but I liked it. I do wish it was longer as I wouldn't have minded watching all these characters more. I hope Netflix will make / upload more quality J dramas because they are criminally underrated and deserve more attention and love. I'd recommend this for all, especially those who were around in the 90s and / or love romances:)

Well I didn't expect it to be disappoint given the A1 cast and Utada Hikaru's songs. But yes, I loved it more than I thought I would.
