It tries

I’m not sure how to feel about this drama. It seems like an interesting start to things, yet at the same time, I’m more interested in the future. The disappearance of a young child was just slightly weird to me, but it made somewhat more sense once the background of his viewpoint was.

I don’t know what it is, but something in this episode feels off. I don’t know if it's the dialogue, or the acting itself, it just seems unnatural and forced compared to other Taiwanese dramas.

I find myself slightly bored and uninterested during most of the episode and unsure whether or not how the rest of the episodes are going to turn out.

On a side note, it's just slightly throwing me off because they are using huskies. It makes sense, but there are closer looking canines than huskies to wolfs. Not to mention they are way to cute and adorable to seem like a fierce wolf.

Always

I just have to say it, Always by Yoon Mirae is the OST of my life, It fits so well in this drama, and the overall tone of the series.

I love how in the beginning of the episode we see them going at their own battles. Two different types both have lives on stake, it's kind of shows how they both work under pressure and could work well together in the future. Its an interesting comparison.

The transitions between scenes are especially cool and even though it's dramatic and cheesy it goes with the feeling of things. I also find it extremely funny and cute that she looks at his x-ray.

As for casting even though it's a the second episode, I feel like the two main actors are very well casted in their roles. I feel like they both are very well into their characters even though it's the second episode.

Marina is the The Queen, we just need to accept it.

Again we see into her shell in the beginning of this episode because of her lack of confidence in herself. Also the stalker, in the shop is totally done up to look like a ghost, it's scary, even reminded me of that. Also poor Abe. Puts himself into a misunderstanding again.

Also the misunderstanding in Nao’s confidence is mostly just because of Uehara. Also master guilt trip Marina is at it again. I honestly think we need to give her credit for setting those two up together. One thing I really do love about Nao’s character is that she tries to like everyone and see the good in everyone

Foreshadow

We learn in this episode what they are or at least where they come from and if they get wet, they disappear back into toys. We also learn that her health isn’t like everyone else's. Also that almost accidental kiss! In this episode we also get to see sparks fly between JB and Joon In Hyung, them feeding each other is adorable. We also get to see the mean girl in a slight new light. Also love foreshadowing in an episode makes it so much more exciting when something does actually happen.

Filler

I love when the mothers are understanding and think more about things. It makes it feel more natural and not as dramatic. This episode shows just that. You go Nao’s Mom!

Also got to love the dad getting drunk bonding cliche.

Though I did enjoy this episode, I can’t help but feel like it's a filler episode, that we are just waiting until they have to move out and stop living together. But I am enjoying the ride.

Loss

When they are in the grocery store, I can honestly just see the director escorting them to an aisle and being like “have fun” and just tape it. It has that lively feel.
Its reasonable that she would be this upset over a broken camera, because it's the last thing with her mother's face in motion, her mother speaking, her mother who she will never hear or see in person. A memory that she can reply in vivid detail without guessing. I think the actress does a great job of showing the sadness of losing one’s mother for the second time. It a really emotional scene and I think she does justice to it.
The episode also lets a see them being actually magical, at least at the end and leaving us wondering why they disappeared.

Big Boss

I like the feeling I get from watching this drama already. The shots feel like there were shot for a film but editing and the way of plot feels like a drama. It feels like a happy medium and sets the precedents for the next episodes to come.
I really enjoy the banter between Big Boss and Wolf. I could watch just hours of their banter and the side looks. Ah, the love of Bromance.
One thing that I am liking is how strong each of the characterization feels in the first moments you meet you the characters, even the side characters feel well established. The strength of Mo Yeon fits well with Shin Jins. Can’t wait to watch more.

Perfection

Okay, I could watch a series about Yuri’s and Takuya's love story. I think it would be very entertaining.

I think the one thing that Japanese Dramas are really good at, especially the school ones, is the feelings of deeper meaning in the characterization, the double meaning behind words. Not all of them are good at it, but when they talk about Nao moving out, you can feel that she wants to know but she doesn’t believe she can handle it. That kind of double meaning, if you know what I am talking about, or if I am even getting it across correctly.

Everything is right in the wor-...parents. But that moms smile though.

Panda

It's clear throughout this episode even, he has stated that he does like her, her insecurities show through. Which I think is a wonderful job by the actress with just the slight angle of her smiles and her eyes (my heart!). In her mind she keeps comparing herself to his first love, I think this is because of the jealousy she has for as well as the admiration for the older woman. This also shows the struggles of a girl and society where she will go on diet because she might be perceived to have gain some weight. I like how the insecurities of a girl in love are shown throughout this episode just because I’ve felt these two, and It's nice being able to connect with these feelings. It also shows the struggles one goes through in learning to let your first love go, in order to really love someone else.

On an unrelated note, I do love how their school mascot is a panda.

Thank goodness!

Finally! Okay, as I’ve said before, I love Yuri and her bond with Nao. Also just when the rivalry was getting good...Sad. Oh well, at least Mr. Smooth finally decided to admit his feelings that we knew he started to develop in episode 2. I’m wondering what the next complication is going to be, because we all know there's going to be more.

Tension

The rivalry between Uehara and Daichi is heating up and I’m loving every second of it. I’m wondering more about how Uehara’s brother is going to complicate things, but excited and slightly sad that there are only 10 more episodes left. Even though Uehara hasn’t admitted his feelings, it's gotten to the point where we know he has some, he’s just holding back for some reason.

I knew it

I was right (see last episode review. I’m liking how this drama is playing out. Also the way it's shot isn’t unique but it feels different in a way. I’m not sure why, but the music is also goes really well with this drama. I noticed the way the camera differences or at least feeling when the aquarium scene was happening. The music at the end was also well done with the rain drowning it out, added the dimensions.

To be continued...

Cliff hangers. The episodes are just piling up in cuteness. I’m really excited to see what he has to say, but I think it's something that might break her heart. You know the Uehara way. One thing that I think this episode highlights is the connection that the two feel towards one another and i think it will turn out great in the long run.

Marina the Queen

And the title of queen of guilt trips goes to Marina for her brilliant performance in guilt tripping Uehara about christmas. I really like how we can actually see him falling for her. You come to realize its the little things, every time she smiles, he has this look. I like the little details the actors have put into their characters, and I think this episode just shows them more up close.

Young Love

I would just like to say, that slow-mo scene with the song was absolute perfection. I also love how Yuri isn’t really a rival for Nao instead, she's more like a role model. I like the dynamic between the two and see their similarities in character in this episode. I like how in this episode we get to see the complexity of young love and just realization of it. Its very well done and very well acted both heartbroken from a male and female perspective.
