Struggles

The sense of what level of actress she is comes out in this episode as she goes through drunk and remembering when she went and saw a comet with her father, showing us a bit more into her character. This episode highlights the struggles the two have. His with knowing she is the one he is meant to be betrothed to, and her struggling with her dream to be a lawyer in order to keep a promise to her father. The sense of loss at her father figure (though still present with her grandpa) still haunts her to this day, which I believe is very well depicted in this moment.

The ending is just plain comical, and her current love ‘rival’ is just sad.

Character of a Character

I like how in this episode we get see her admiration for her friends and her true feelings toward those who she believes are trustworthy. Nao willingness to stick up for what she believes in, is a common trait in Japanese drama’s heroine, but I think in his drama it's portrayed in a way that's admirable. This Drama is shaping up to be really good if this episode is any indication of what the rest of the series is going to be.

Complexity of Hong Kong

One thing I like about this show is that it’s not based on a rich people, it's more of a common working class people in Hong Kong and highlights Hong Kong vs. Mainland ideals. Its interesting and I quite like the take on neighborhood and quick to judge. Its teach lessons while showcasing the complexity of larger issues. Still not so sure what the overall plot is but much better from the last episode.

Cloaked beings

Okay first, they look and act like robbers so the fact that she thinks they are creepy is logical. I mean four heavy disguised tall men walking behind you in your neighborhood that you’ve never seen you would be freaked out too.

Acting wise, they actually have good lead who plays her part rather well.

Though I find the story line not that believable just because who has the audacity to eat someone else's food when you don’t know them. Also the fact that she turns into a rock when around cute boys, but she's willing to stay longer than she needs to? That part is slightly unbelievable. Though of course this wasn’t meant to be a serious comedy, I just am not a fan of plot holes.

Overall, I think the acting is going to surprise me. But I have no expectations at this point.

JYP Comedy

Okay the jokes in this episode are really much more funny if you know the context that the group is split in half, three of them are the GOT group and the other four are with the main lead. Also the comparison to JYP and knowing who the main rival girl is Park Ji Min who is apart of the JYP Family with GOT7. But because I knew this, the episode was funny. Taken out of context, it kind of highlights the crazy side of fandom and fan wars in a funny but kind of frightening way. Though this is meant to be comedy, I may be overthinking this. This wasn’t a bad episode but it just shows how not seriously I’m taking it, because other than the lead, the acting is So-So more leading to the bad side on some things when compared to other dramas.

good start, lacking chemistry

Though this is an interesting start to things. I like arranged marriage shows because they tend to come with interesting topics I am wondering how this is going to last for 84 episodes. If this was a half hour drama I wouldn't think twice about it. I know the Grandma and Grandpa are going to play important roles, but I am liking the grandmothers spunk. She's adorable. I sense she might be my favorite in the future. As for the leads, I’m not quite sure I can feel the same chemistry between the two, but it is the first episode so maybe it will be more present in later episodes.

Alone in Loneliness

It's very intriguing watching as you from room to room also keeping up with the old ones to see how the plot develops. I particularly liked this episode because the feeling of loneliness and heartbreak was evident throughout the main lead actresses in this episode showed her heartbreak and determination well along with her loneliness of the character. I thought this episode was really well done, I kind of want to know more about her story.

Welcome to the Party

OH, the teasing. The one thing that I like about this series is the ending of an episode of a case is picked up by another. It has the subtle feeling that the cases are all connected together somehow. I do like how the student case didn’t take more than two episodes, which I believe the second case should have as well, drawing the student one out would have been a little bit of a torture to get through. I love the way that Jin Yan comes into knowing about his feelings, and also Zi Yu’s reaction. Perfect, like ‘hey man, you’re finally at the party at long last’ kind of way.

Good Morning, Good Start

I will say, I never understood the whole, the entire school stops to look at a handsome boy and cheers loudly when he walks in the room scenes. They logically make sense but again, teen dramas tend to not logically make sense. That being said, I actually liked the dynamic between the two leads in the show. The first episodes highlights the interaction between the two leads and how they dislike each other. I like how the characters feel like already established characters, that we are just meeting them in a moment in time, not that it's the first episode of drama. I also love how they made her good at something (Cooking), instead of horrible at everything.

I’m kind of a sucker for high school love comedies. They just usually seem so happy and leave me feeling more joy than bitterness (if that makes any sense). This is a good start to a new adventure, can’t wait till the next episode.

Luke Warm Start

The first episode is confusing, we don’t really get a good sense of what the plot actually is at all, other than a girl moves in when her father is in a coma. One thing I do like is the sense of community you feel when everyone is together and reminds you of a small town life, if you grew up like that. Its great but it wasn’t bad. I think nailing down the storyline would help improve this drama, so it's a lukewarm opening in my opinion.

Four Stars

The teacher-student dynamic between Jin Yan and Yao Yao has always been there. But in this episode he is purposely trying to teach her instead of asking only a couple of questions he asking more. I think he first wanted to teach her more during the their first case when she thought to ask about the eggs and gifts. Her curiosity in knowledge is I think one of the main reasons he wants her to be a student and this episode exemplifies that.

Friends

I have to admit how much I love Zi Yu. He is a gem in this show that brings a lot of light and laughter that I love. His complexity of a character is also something I appreciate but I’m sure he's the first person to tease Bo Jin Yan and get away with it. I appreciate their friendship in this Drama.

This Episode was light compared to others, with no case going on, sort like a bridge into the next but a ton of character relationship development. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and am excited to see what happens next.

Four Stars

I’m glad that case is over. It went on longer then it should but i think the standard of each case is 4 episodes per case so it makes sense. Though shocking first kiss aside the episode was enjoyable and introduced new development into the story.

The character development and relationship between each of the dynamics is developing in a really nice way that most dramas don’t tend to do. I’m very appreciative.

Hints

The overall feel of this episode seemed to be urgency but in a slow pace. I don’t know how to describe it other than that. The need to find information out, which some information is given out. The romance between Yao Yao & Bo are hinted here, and given a little bit more. It's like a tiny hint but, it’s there. Mostly even though its slow pace, I’m enjoying watching as well as how the episodes all lead to the next one, making you want more.

Simon

New information to the overall scheme of things, we find out that Bo’s time in America is going to be more essential to the plot in the future and are introduce to, not the best American characters but to be fair, I’ve seen worse pretrials (the heirs). This just furthers the plot more into the suicide case, but I’m still certain this case should have been or could have been wrapped up in at least 2 episodes, the slow pace of this drama I think reflects the detailed oriented viewpoint of the lead’s character.

Overall this episode isn’t bad to watch and introduces new information that will be needed for a baseline in further episodes.
